I finally got a chance to stop by here today, not only to try their spring menu Matcha latte with rose petals on top, but also to sit and enjoy the mellow music in one of their comfy chairs as I read a book. It felt luxurious. I like the natural lighting from the windows, the various options for seating, at tables or in comfy lower chairs (which I chose this time, a sofa chair that swivels.). I like the green painted walls and the rabbit motif, really leaning into the Lucky theme and why not? We all need a little sometimes. Super nice staff. I signed up with my phone number and they gave me my drink for half off because my birthday was two weeks ago. So kind! Definitely didn't have to do that but I appreciated it! My iced matcha latte at 50% sweetness was delightful. Not only pretty to look at, but tasty to the last drop, sweeter towards the end because I didn't mix it, it was too pretty to mess with. ;). Also got my eldest daughter one Ube POGI (with matcha) with oak milk. I took a sip of it. Very nice earthy matcha flavor with the sweet, creamy, and nutty flavor of ube. Great combination! I recently attended a Yelp event here and enjoyed the experience so I decided to stop in for a warm drink before my doctor appt around the corner. I love the vibe here, so cozy with nice background music playing, comfortable furniture, lots of seating if you want to study, and big windows bringing in lots of natural light. I saw that they have a calendar of events for the month which has some fun looking events. Their menu also looked really good with some interesting specialty drinks. Unfortunately their drink menus don't list prices of their specialty drinks and I didn't ask as I didn't think it would be too pricey. I ordered the hot Pogi (ube Matcha) with almond milk (only comes in small - 12oz) and a strawberry Nutella pastry. The pastry was delicious, the Pogi was ok. When I saw my receipt after the fact, my small Pogi costed $8.50. Yikes. I know they use high quality matcha, but still ... wow. I don't think it's worth it. read more

Originally first came here for a Yelp event and then came back as an "official" customer. This is like the Trader Joe's of coffee houses. Admittedly, I was a little annoyed when the barista chatted it up with the customer in front of me, but mostly because I was running late (I know, I'm horrible). Then, like the hypocrite that I am, I spent even more time talking to him and letting him know how great the Yelp Event was and that I wanted to get the same drink they served at the event. The conversation was lovely and the drink was just as lovely. I'll never complain about waiting because 1) sometimes that conversation is needed and can make a huge difference--we never know what someone is going through, 2) we all need to slow down a little anyway, and 3) this is part of what sets Lucky's apart. I just came in for a Yelp event that had water color with coffee and a catered dinner. The coffee tasting offered the 3 types of coffee that were amazing to try. My favorite was the Wild Hare Blend that was satisfying to my taste buds. They mentioned that its origins are ethiopia and guatemala and it does not disappoint. I was happy to receive a complimentary bag and cup with saucer. I also had the joy of trying a unique taste of lavender matcha that the barista recommend I try;soooo good. Seeking a tattoo shop for H for her 18th bday gift, we found Jane's down the street from Lucky's. So, we were doubly lucky to see a second Lucky's location here in Claremont. Of course we just had to stop in. Next to a Kiddie's daycare we walked into a clean and cool new Lucky's location and were greeted by a friendly girl at the counter who genuinely asked what we were up to for the day. I ordered a latte for here and H ordered a cinnamon and honey latte at the suggestion of the girl helping us - she said something healthier and not so sweet but still sweet... haha. As we found a table adjacent to the main area, we noticed it was next to a large window where you can watch the roasting magic going on. I then promptly proceeded to pick up a bag of the Lucky Blend, seeing it was a 3x Golden Bean winner. My latte was absolutely perfect - the first sip of creamy and dense foam, steamed to perfection at just the right temp. The espresso was smooth, bold, and slightly buttery. Mmmm. So goood. H said, with a smile and a smirk, hers was kinda like a Spanish Latte but less sweet, just like she hoped for. Will definitely be back. Love that the side room is fairly quiet, cool, and spacious. REST IN PEACE UPLAND LUCKYS Came to the Claremont location for the first time to support the Upland crew after that location shut down. While I didn't recognize any of the workers, they all had that friendly disposition that I've come to associate with Lucky's. I ordered a hot apple chai, off their fall seasonal menu! I originally ordered it with whole milk, but as I was waiting for my drink, a kind employee asked if I'd be okay with oat milk instead since whole milk curdles in that particular drink. No problem, thanks for asking! He even complimented me on my sweater. The drink was perfectly spiced with that fragrant apple taste. Yummy! The inside of this location is way bigger than Upland, with tons of seating and parking spaces outside since it's located in a plaza. I will be back, and I hope to see some of the Upland crew here soon! read more

I have went to Lucky's before but my most recent visit was in venture of trying their ube renditions. Overall Lucky's, you won my taste buds. I am personally a coffee lover so I prefer the ube coffee to the matcha. Although, both are very nice combinations. The matcha is a bit on the sweeter side so if you don't like a more bitter flavor, then definitely try that out. What I like about their ube drinks is it doesn't taste like taro. It tastes like the ube yam like the one in ube bread from Valerios. If you come here to study, for me personally the vibes at the upland location are better for study. However the ones at the Claremont location are more like if you're doing a group project. Claremont has a number of fine coffee shops, and this is definitely among this special group. They roast their own beans. Coffee is smooth and delicious. If you like flavored lattes, they have unique house-made syrups that you don't see elsewhere (bergamot, etc). Flavored lattes are surprisingly not too sweet like most other places. Plenty of space to sit indoors or outdoors. Easy parking in a big lot. Definitely a place worth checking out. read more

Loved the cappuccino and the drip coffee we got, very tasty and beautiful beans! Their specialty coffees looked very interesting as well. The staff were really great and knowledgeable about the variety of coffee they offer and shared some of their personal favorites, which i always appreciate. I will definitely need to order a bag of the Salem Drip Trials, right after my own little witchy heart! Lucky's was such a staple when I went to the Claremont Colleges, and they do have really great quality coffees and teas with a wonderful selection of specialty drinks. It is a great place to work, with outlets and music that isn't too loud, and the baristas are super friendly! Visited at the start of May 2025 and was disappointed to learn that they source their pastries from a different place now and no longer carry the chive cream cheese croissants with everything bagel seasoning and pistachio croissants . I got a chocolate chip cookie ($3.45), which was pretty yummy, and shared an MVP (matcha vanilla pistachio) with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also tried Sable, which is a spring menu item (black sesame latte), but found myself hoping that the black sesame flavor packed more of a punch. Overall, I love Lucky's, but it is quite pricy, especially the $1 upcharge on oat milk. Probably much more worth it if you get a drink and spend an afternoon studying there. read more

Lucky coffee roasters is a great venue for hosting special events. Outstanding hospitality and warm welcome. A little outdoor patio area with bench seating. The interior is clean and modern. A separate tasting room and roasting area are visible from the main entrance. Coffee, teas, pastries, sweet treats and merch available. A unique variety of coffee and teas to choose from. Our drinks were delicious and perfectly made. We attended their magic show night with Greg Van Holsbeck and Mark Gibson which was incredible! They are truly talented individuals who love what they do. The night brought so much more than you could expect. Lucky roasters really knows how to make it a fully enjoyable experience. I usually have a good experience at this place but tonight was not came to Luckys at 6:20 at night to find out that they closed early when their hours at the door say they're open till 7 PM. AMBIANCE - Directly across from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, this location had an ample amount of parking. Inside, you'll find lots of seating and it extends towards the side where you get a nice view of the roasting area. FOOD - I was recommended the Horchata Latte, which isn't shown on the menu anymore but you can still order it. It was rich, creamy, with a subtle taste of horchata. I'd definitely be going back! SERVICE - I had a great experience, being helped with knowing what drinks are popular as well as what they think I might like. Definitely great service from everyone here. read more
