Coworker's Paradise in North Pomona! (sorry if it sounds like I'm writing a Zillow listing, but I'm just trying to get this to show up in search results if anyone else is curious LOL) OUTLETS: Plenty of outlets!!! There's a set of steps with pillows on each step with a block of about six outlets beside them, and a really comfy, sinky couch (plus an ottoman and two comfy looking armchairs and a big table in the middle) with a set of two outlets on the wall and a star shaped power strip sticking out of the ground with six outlets coming out of it. There are also regular tables and it seems like there are outlets beside them as well. WIFI: The wifi is open (no password necessary), even though they have a password listed where you pick up your food (it's just Sanctuary Coffee). I tried to use one of the locked ones (the only one that made sense), but the wifi password didn't work, so I'm not sure why they have one listed. Regardless, albeit not the fastest wifi I've ever used, it's incredibly doable. I have been working remote here for 1.5 hrs and had almost no issues. MENU: For LA, relatively cheap. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, so I got the peach Italian soda, which was yummy. I believe it was about $4.89, which is not bad at all. I went to And Destroy in the Highland Park-ish area, and I believe an Italian soda with cream (cream is free here) was maybe $7-8. I'm used to paying more for drinks because the specialty (non coffee and tea) drinks are usually pricey, but this was one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also, you can claim a free pastry with your email and first name on their website (it sends you a voucher, just show the email). I got the banana bread, which was fine. I would've gotten zucchini, but it wasn't chocolate chip zucchini. ATMOSPHERE: Not too loud, the music is nice and chill and not very loud. There's cute art on the walls and homey looking lamps. It's the quintessential living room coffee shop, perhaps even rivaling Republik Coffee in Burbank in comfiness, noise level, aesthetic, and price (which is a bummer, because I likely will never be back - we just happened to be in North Pomona today, and I have no idea when we'd ever elect to drive this far again LOL). PARKING: It's in a little strip mall, so there's an actual aboveground lot with plenty of free parking (at least I think it's free, I got dropped off so I didn't pay much attention). Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to cowork in a cozy atmosphere for relatively cheap in the North Pomona area. It checks all of my boxes except distance from home. I hope this review helps someone, because I always try to find this information on Yelp about new places to visit and it can be very difficult to find! BATHROOM: I believe there are two single person bathrooms like not stalls just one bathroom. Cute art and aesthetic inside, there are hooks on the walls for your stuff. The air dryer was not very strong and there were no paper towels or seat covers, but other than that there was a nice faucet and cute nice soap like homey soap you'd see in someone's house, and the lock worked fine. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the IE. Recently I heard their rent dramatically increased, and without help, they're forced to close at the end of May 2026. During my recent visit, one of the baristas told me they are expected to continue opening! Yayyy! Please support them and help them remain open! I stopped by Sanctuary Coffee and ordered the Vanilla Protein Latte. It was good, but it fell somewhere in the middle compared to all the coffee shops I've tried. It wasn't bad, but it also didn't really stand out or surprise me in any way. The biggest downside for me was the price. A regular size latte came out to $8.75, which is more expensive than many other local coffee shops I've visited. At that price, I was hoping for something a little more memorable. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the coffee shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a nice place to relax or get some work done. I would still be willing to come back and give them another try next time I'll order one of their specialty lattes and see if that changes my opinion. read more

I was constantly driving by this coffee shop & finally had the urge to go inside. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of space this shop has. Definitely a great place to study, meet with a group, and just hang out. The baristas were very nice providing us with honest thoughts about the different drinks we had questions on. The coffee was absolutely perfect! Both coffees were perfectly balanced with the flavors and the hidden notes in the espresso. The first thing about this coffee that I love is that they are non-profit! I just love that they are contributing back to the community. I wanted to grab a quick coffee before heading home after trail run at Marshall Canyon. It is located next to Sprouts Market with plenty of parkings and small shops. The coffee shop is spacious and plenty tables and chairs to sit and enjoy. I see a lot of people bring their laptops to work. Their menu is simple, coffee, matcha, tea , also some non caffeinated drinks. I got the Coffee of the month which is the Banana cream cold brew. Oh it was yummy! Customer service was great. I was so sad to hear that if they don't fundraise a certain amount, they will have to shut down end of May, since the landlord increase the rent! I visited Sanctuary pretty recently to look for a coffee shop to study at. I wanted to switch it up and visit more shops in the area since I'm in Claremont quite often now. The cafe is massive! There were a lot of tables and sound cool lounging spots. There was also a big meeting room that you would need to reserve too. Service here was nice. I just wanted an Americano and they do it pretty well. It was mild in flavor, but I do prefer it that way instead of something bold. Staff that serviced me is nice too. I absolutely love this shop, what they stand for and the quality coffee. Since my mornings are very fast paced and I want to make sure I grab a coffee from sanctuary before I go into work, I always try calling their number first thing in the morning but their number never works. When I come in and ask if their phones are down, depending on who is working, I'll get different answers but it never fails when I ask "so if ordering ahead of time possible?" they reply with "you can always call ahead" I find that frustrating. I also notice that the customer service is much better when the girl barista is behind the counter-- I don't recall her name but ever time I come and I see her she takes care of my usual order and I feel really good vibes from the store in general. Many of the workers though don't look very happy to there, and don't have the best attitude. read more

I love the vibe of this place and love to support our small coffee businesses however they can significantly improve the dirty chai. My iced dirty chai was 2/10, the barista made it so rushed when there was no line behind me, and it tasted really bad, bitter, and way too milky hiding the espresso notes. Found Sanctuary when I was looking for a local coffee shop with good reviews. Sanctuary is down the street from my parent so off I went. The inside is cozy and clean, staff is friendly, they have a decent sized menu with coffee and tea drinks (which I plan on trying next visit) and their pastries look delicious! They are also a nonprofit that supports other nonprofits, I've worked in the nonprofit sector for over 5 years and to know they are doing such lovely work is an added bonus in my book. Their cafe is beautiful, high ceilings and very unique seating set ups as well. I got the Lavender Matcha and it did not disappoint! Drinks: 3/5 Espresso had good flavor with bright and fruity notes. The vanilla latte was very milky and not my favorite. I ordered the green pear iced tea and I don't think they steeped it for long enough because it was extremely watered down when I got it. Atmosphere: 3/5 Lots of seating which was nice for working. 7/7/24 I Lve the vibe here!! Just shopped at Sprouts a few doors down & decided to stop by & check out Sanctuary coffee shop. Ive read a few great reviews from fellow Yelp Elite friends and find it very interesting, now I see why. It's definitely a wonderful & fabulous spot to have your caffeine fix, work or just chill. They even offer a boat load of board games (1980's nostalgia for sure); Monopoly, Scrabble, Battleship, Sorry, Balderdash, Clue, Yahtzee, etc. It's fairly quiet & the atmosphere is very comfortable. There's a fairly large conference room that is sealed off & you need to reserve in advance to utilize. I think it can seat about 10-12 people. When you enter the coffee shop, it goes pretty deep, about a dozen or so tables & chairs, plus a few sofas/couches. It's well thought out. Our lattes were made in a timely manner snd the staff are attentive & friendly. Hubby & I were thanked as we left. The 2 lattes were a bit pricey, close to $14, added oat milk was $1.30 each). Good service, excellent coffee. They are in some financial difficulty because landlord raised the rent, and they donate profits to charity (I've checked this out with a guy who is knowledgeable and they actually do this). They are worth supporting for this reason also. When I was there on March 3 they didn't have decaf coffee, so if this is a dealbreaker for you, you should ask before coming. But, as other reviewers have noted, the place is welcoming, they have a variety of snacks and drinks, and they're an asset to the Pomona Valley. read more

Pssst...they have stellar top shelf artisan blend iced teas. Sanctuary coffee, perched in Claremont, is a non profit coffee shop. According to them, they give about ten pounds of food for every one pound of coffee they sell, to donate to local food charities. They have some of my favorite artisan tea blends. I get excited when I visit and I always seem to order one of their top shelf iced teas--a whimsical experience. I enjoyed the apricot escape my last visit as it was quite lovely. I'm happy to report that the teas here just hit different. They offer a plethora of different coffees from classic to speciality. They have a small tray of baked goods and tend to have a few vegan options. The coffee shop has a unique design and lounging options inside/outside. Friendly vibes and a clean safe space. Sanctuary coffee is a non-profit coffee shop. It is located in the shopping center where Sprouts Farmer Market is located. There are abundance of parking spots. The coffee shop is very spacious with comfortable seating either outside or inside. It has this welcoming and inviting vibes. The menu includes coffee classics, Specialty coffee and drinks, organic tea,pastries, scones, pies and cookies. The employees are very nice and friendly. Their mission is to advocate for social justice in three areas: (Posted in the shop & their website): 1- They pay the coffee farmer an ethical wage to improve the global market and fight human trafficking. 2- Ten pounds of food are donated to local food pantries for every pound of coffee. 3- All of their profits are given to charities in Claremont and surrounding communities. I ordered Caramel Turtle Latte and my friend got crème brûlée. We had also mini cherry pie and chocolate croissant. The drinks were very refreshing and silky. The chocolate croissant was very flaky and delicious. The mini Cherry pie had  the perfect crust and the cherry was fresh and decadent. This is the best mini cherry pie I have ever tried. Before I left, I bought three different flavors of mini pies. They had; cherry, blueberry and apple to enjoy them at home. I am glad I did! The three flavors are very indulgent with perfect crust and filling. Although I am usually not a fan of cherry pie, but Sanctuary proved me wrong and cherry pie became my favorite!
