[[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon with one of my oldest friends at this hospitable, festive, cozy tea shop in downtown Upland.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's especially fun to visit around the holidays because of the Christmas decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Free 3-hour parking close by. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful view of the snowy mountains from the outside street corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a noon reservation for two and were seated at the corner booth right away. The menus are prettily presented inside book covers. We chose the High Tea which includes tea sandwiches, a scone, a soup and salad, a dessert and one kettle of tea. I chose the peppermint chocolate tea and my friend chose the chocolate covered strawberry tea, both seasonal. For dessert I chose the lemon cake and my friend chose the tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The teas were flavorful enough not to add any sugar! My favorites of the food were the tomato bisque soup and the scone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the back of the tearoom, there's a large crescent moon where you can sit for a photo opportunity, and dress up with a crown, hat, or sash, just to add to the fun memories.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My good friend and fellow Yelpie Elite, Coco found this tea room. When we hang out it's usually at a tea house. This one happens to be in downtown Upland. In this economy it's tough to stay open especially when there's another tea room right down the street. I really hope they both stay open . [[HIGHLIGHT]]This one is a bit smaller and has a French cafe vibe with outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had reservations but came early and were seated right away. The staff consisted of husband and wife. They were both very kind and helpful but towards the end of our tea they kind of disappeared and it wasn't very busy. She recommended the seasonal strawberry covered chocolate tea and this was the best tea I've ever had. It didn't need any sugar. 10/10. The salad was also very good with watermelon chunks.10/10 The tomato Bisque soup was also very tasty. 10/10. Everything else was average. The tea sandwiches didn't wow me. Some of them were hard from sitting out awhile. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great place to bring the girls and have tea party.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stumbled upon their photo booth accidentally as I was taking pictures for this review. The owner mentioned it and took our photo. Bravo! I'll be back!

I wanted to do this review quickly after the recent visit here along with my wife. A while back we had tried making reservations for a different tea house in the area and after multiple attempts and them getting extremely rude with me over the phone, a quick search came across Coterie and I am glad it did. The staff here was extremely courteous and kind to us throughout. We had arrived 15 minutes prior to opening and were standing outside taking a few photos when the gentleman working here along with his wife popped out and greeted us. We informed them we had reservations and were early and despite them not yet being open, they asked that we came in and promptly seated us at our designated table and began the service. This was a great start for me as its so rare to find these moments. The team menu is a bit smaller than other tea rooms I have been to but the flavor options were diverse and they also had a large number of decaffeinated teas to choose from as well. Both my wife and I went with the Queen Sheila service which consisted of all the normal fare plus soup and salad. For my tea I went with the Dragonfruit Dream while my wife opted for the Marigold Hibiscus. Both teas were really good but my wife's did ten to be a bit on the sweeter side which she hadn't expected. We were quickly given scones along with cream and jam and I can say these were some of the better scones I have had. I am NOT a fan of scones as they are typically too flaky and dry but these were perfect and full of flavor. My wife also complimented the lady running the place on these as well as she too was pleasantly surprised by these. Both the soup and salad came out next and were absolutely delicious. My wife was a bit confused at first by one of these and almost made an oopsie but she quickly realized the error of her ways and remedied before disaster arose. I will not call her out for her mistake but it was funny and stressful at that moment. The rest of our tower came out shortly thereafter and consisted of an egg salad sandwich, a chicken salad sandwich, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, a chocolate caramel brownie, a chocolate and raspberry cake as well as some fresh fruit. All of this was delicious as well. The pricing here for the highest tea service we received is $38 per person which was quite reasonable for everything we received. I would definitely come back here for another service. The staff was also very accommodating with any questions any patrons had as well. Please note that they do not offer gluten free or vegan options but vegetarian options are available for those who want it. This was a for sure win for me.

OMG Best Experience Ever! We came with our group and it was such a time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute decor and the Tea's were super delicious you didn't even need sugar![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was excellent all the teas and food were made by the owner she was so sweet. I definitely recommend this place and will be back again!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came on my birthday and Jeanette the owner and her husband were so sweet and even gave me a cute little cupcake with a candle then sang me happy birthday! soo sweet and then she gave us a free scone after we mentioned how yummy the lemon coconut one was which was her own recipe! The teas were delicious and fresh tasting. The sandwiches were cute and fluffy. And the scones and desserts were delicious! My fav was the lemon coconut scone and their tomato bisque! Thanks guys for a great experience!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place to celebrate any special occasions![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a wonderful time it felt like we were in our home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Host was very nice and kind the food was delicious and the tea was the best part. Definitely will be coming back.

Place was completely empty when I got there. And supposedly they were "completely" booked

This place is disappointing... I called allllll week to book a reservation and no one called back or even answered my phone call (number on Yelp). On the voice mail it clearly states to TEXT for reservations. After not getting any confirmation, I decided to walk in. The hours say 11am.. when I got there it was closed Sunday at that time. I came back at noon, and they finally opened.. mind you they had no clients.. I asked if they took walk ins and they said they were completely booked.. I let the man know that I had tried to make reservations all week and no one answered. I literally wanted to cry, since it was my friend special bday. They NEED to update whatever system they are following. This place would be more successful if they did. As a restaurant owner myself I would never want to turn away business because of lack of communication or incorrect hours.

    Where yummy magic is made.

What a lovely place with an even more lovely owner! My bestie and I are huge fans of tea houses, and she's had her eye on Coterie for some time now. Jeannette (the owner) had recently moved to this larger location, and my bestie was able to snag us a last-minute reservation. Most reservations require a minimum of 2 weeks out to book, and you text to request your date and time slot. Our tea date arrived and we were pleasantly greeted by Jeannette and her husband upon our arrival and were seated. The menu was presented to us in a book, which is a unique idea! We had fun going around the table seeing who had what novel. We ordered "The Coterie" ($29 per person) and "The Versailles" ($33 per person). Everything was DIVINE! We absolutely loved the yummy tea selection as well. Our top tea recommendations are the maple creme oolong and the sweet honey green tea. The tea room was decorated in an elegant manner and felt very relaxed. Jeannette came around and chatted with us, which was such a joy. She's an incredibly talented and kind woman and we're so happy we found and had the pleasure of enjoying her tea room. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning. Thanks, Jeannette, for a happy and memorable visit.

I came just before Christmas with my daughter and we had a special time!! I think this is now my 6 th time here and planning to come back for sure! We loved the cranberry scones! The lunch is light not for those that are really hungry but satisfying and fresh! The service is great and always pleasant. The reservation process is the hardest part.

I have been here a few times and it is so absolutely enjoyable! I highly recommend visiting this tea house, enjoying a little glass of champagne, the sandwiches the scones and the tea as well as the owner is absolutely wonderful! Don't bypass this hidden gem!

We had an amazing time there for my daughter's 17th birthday! They had a caramel macchiato coffee so of course, I had to try that. It was so good! Food was great and my favorite was the coconut lemon cake. Service was excellent! Love the husband and wife duo! The place is so cute inside and they have the funnest photo op! We can't wait to come back.

Ask the Community - Coterie Tea & Eatery

    What are the tea prices?

$32, $36, $38 and $45. I got the High tea which was $38. It came with soup and salad, sandwiches and dessert plus a pot of tea.

Hi, Do you have Vegan options on your sandwiches? And milk for tea?

No but we do offer vegetarian options

What is the ages of children at are allowed?

    7 and older

    Do you accept reservations?

Yes please email coterietea@gmail or text 9097018158 to make reservations

Are children 2- 3 years old allowed?

    No.

Are children allowed? I would like to take my 3 and a half year old

I believe the minimum age is like 6 or 7. The thing is they have many pretty one of a kind and breakable cups and teapots. Also, it is not a very large place. So, it's not a place for young children that like to run around.

How can I get ahold of someone to make reservations, I've been calling all week and no answer?

    Text her.

How does making a reservation work? We've tried texting, leaving a voice-mail, and calling at different times and have not received any responses.

Due to repercussions of covid 19 to small businesses we have had to change our hours many times. We are open Friday Saturday first reservation time is at 11 and last is at 2pm and we rent out the entire tearoom on Sunday for large parties 15/25…

Do I need reservation for this Saturday for 3?

    Yes definitely!

    Are staff still masking?

No, no masks on when we went and customers off when eating and drinking also

I'm interested in taking my daughter her for high tea on 10/14, her birthday. I will have two girls and 4 adults for the high tea. Is 1:30 available for a seating?

    Call them!

Is this tea room appropriate for little girls (5-6 years old)?

Yes. You can check their website for tea menus.

Does this tea spot still provide vegan options? If so, what are they?

Not at this time. We offer vegetarian options.

    Are reservations needed?

Yes, they are. She has limited seating and only does reservations. It's a super cute spot!

Is it generally okay to dress up and take pictures inside while having tea? Some friends and I were hoping to have a casual costume day here eventually but we wanted to make sure before making any resverations!

Took some pictures inside when I was there. Wasn't dressed up. Just wearing the usual a tie and jacket.…

Is the V and Tea ALL vegan?

Yes everything is vegan on the V & tea. We offer a hummus sandwich or cashew cream cheese & cucumber sandwich options!…

The menu had a lot of options and variations with tongue-in-cheek names, but also the common names and descriptions below. Both my friend and I ordered "pinners," which are 8" sandwiches. I got the Kali Mist (Spicy Club) on garlic herb bread and my friend got The Kind (Turkey, Bacon, Shrooms) but without the shrooms on white bread. After ordering at the counter, we took a seat at one of the tables to dine-in. The music was a little loud for my preference, which makes me sound like I'm a million years old but oh well. Our orders were brought over by an employee once they were ready and I was immediately impressed by the amount of toppings and how good everything looked and smelled. My sandwich was super tasty and I especially loved the chipotle mayo and garlic herb bread! Having never tried Cheba Hut before, I immediately asked my friend where the closest location was after taking my first few bites. I'd love to try more sandwiches.
