A relative who lived in the area suggested this restaurant and we were so glad she did. The servers were so accommodating. Our group was huge and we sat the boys together inside while the adults were seated outside. There wasn't one complaint from the staff. They took our orders, split our checks. Took our boys order inside and came outside to let the parents pay. This was amazing service if this was a restaurant in LA they wouldn't even allow it. Now let's talk about the food. It was remarkable. Everyone loved what they ate. I wanted to try something different so I had what I think they called the Southwest Benedict. It was 2 sopes with chorizo tomato cheese avocado an egg and onion. It was delicious! I had cafe de olla and it was so yummy. Lastly on our way out, they had a cafe inside where you could walk up and order coffee and pastries. This is such a great idea! I decided to order some pasties to go. The pricing is very reasonable. All in all, I highly recommended this restaurant!

Because it was so hot out I went for a strawberry salad and asked to substitute steak instead of the crispy chicken. The steak was marinated well and cut very thin so I was able to mix it with the salad well and have steak in every bite. The portion of salad was large and filling, but not uncomfortably so -- just right. The strawberries, greens, and everything else were very fresh and delicious, and I loved the homemade strawberry vinaigrette which wasn't too thick and not watery at all, just a little tangy and not too sweet. The vibe of the place is pretty fun with a free vintage motorcycle museum to walk around a bit in. I took a couple laps around the room before headed out. Overall, atmosphere and staff were very pleasant and I'd definitely like to drop in again and try some breakfast items.

I got a no-jito, Orep frappe, shaker fries, & pizookie. The portions are HUGE. I could have easily shared everything and still left full & satisfied. The ordering process is super simple and made it so we all continuously ordered food. None of the awkward waiting for everyone else's food to come or wanting seconds when the rest of the group is done eating. The environment was fun & hip. The seating was comfy and the ambience not too loud. The blender was a little loud, but we sat towards the front which probably contributed. My only critique is the cramped parking lot with one exit/entrance and it's at an angle. But it's so worth the hairy parking. We found Communal and the reviews were great, but honestly, **the customer service was even better!** We had our two dogs with us, so I called in a takeout order and Angelo was SO kind and helpful. I always feel like a phone call is the first impression of a place, and he immediately gave us such a good vibe. When we came in, they were clearly slammed with only Angelo and another sweet girl working, but you never would've known it from his service. I'd honestly come back for the service alone! I had a disappointing experience at Peace on Earth Coffee…read more I specifically ordered a matcha latte with a substitution for health reasons, so accuracy mattered to me. I made sure to confirm this substitution was available before placing my order. After drinking it, I became concerned that my substitution had not been applied, so I tried to contact the store. It took multiple calls to reach a manager, but once I did, they acknowledged that a new employee had likely made a mistake and apologized. Although it was difficult to get in touch with someone, I appreciate their willingness to hear my concerns and their attempts to rectify the situation. When I returned to the store for the agreed-upon refund, however, the experience became frustrating. The manager, Aubrey, initially attempted to refund me for a less expensive drink and seemed unwilling to believe me when I explained what I had paid. I clarified that I was not seeking reimbursement for the tip, only the agreed-upon refund for my purchase. Her tone felt irritated and dismissive throughout the interaction. Fortunately, I still had my receipt with me and was able to verify the correct amount. Mistakes happen, and I appreciate that the store acknowledged the possibility of an error. What disappointed me most was how the refund was handled. I left feeling that my concerns were met with skepticism rather than understanding. Additionally, on a completely separate side note, while I was there, I noticed a customer had a dog inside the café. When I first visited with my friend, we had her dog with us and we were told dogs were only welcome on the patio because they had an open kitchen. So it was unexpected to see this dog inside and drinking from a reusable customer water cup provided by Peace on Earth. The inconsistency in enforcing store policies was surprising. I hope the business uses this as an opportunity to improve employee training and customer service.

But... disappointment all around, from the moment I walked in. There was a funky aroma in the air; reminded me of smoldering wet wood, maybe? I don't know. Ordered the Breakfast Plate and coffee. Nope: Out of coffee. (srsly?) Took a long time to get the food. Made-To-Order does have its price, I suppose. But it was disappointing. The bacon was cold and starting to congeal. The egg? The less said the better. No hot sauce available to make them palatable. The avocado was a day or two past its peak of freshness, and starting to get those brown spots inside that says, "You should have made guac with me yesterday!" The bright spot was the waffle: It was pretty good. Crispy outside; fluffy and light inside. However, as a caveat: My wife's waffle was cold and not appealing. Also, the restrooms were (I'm being nice here) neglected. Overall, my going-in expectations may have been too high, but even so, Waffle Love didn't meet the lowest expectations possible.

They are bottomless and the owner came around asking if we wanted refills or if we wanted our drinks in a to go cup at the end of the meal. So that was nice, but I'd still rather have a $3 cup of juice. I didn't have the cinnamon rolls (or maybe they call them sweet rolls) but they were small and didn't look too appetizing. The server was attentive to my needs, took enough time to have conversation, but also left me to enjoy my meal. Being a restaraunt in a hotel the decor was pretty plain. Open with tables closer together than most would prefer. I really wanted the buffet to get started. Most companies are not as generous as mine giving me a $25 allowance for breakfast, but even at that a $22 buffet does not leave room to leave the server a reasonable tip. They should take this into consideration when pricing. There are many other breakfast buffets that are priced much more favorably and usually have a bigger selection. I opted for the western omlette. It was served with potatos which were fine. The omlette taste fine but was really scrambled eggs with ham and veggies mixed in, cooked, then folded in half and topped with cheese. An omlette with the veggies and cheese stuffed inside a thin egg base is always so much better. Hotel food is usually about convenience, so I got what I expected, decent service, acceptable food and a price point higher than average.
