I was craving Waffle House so badly and I wanted to try a different location. I heard this place had good food and great customer service and it did not disappoint! I like that is has a big parking lot and was a tad bit bigger than the one we typically visit. The people working here were so friendly and in the best moods. They were laughing and singing and putting songs on the jukebox. It was a bit of a wait since we came on a Sunday, but it cleared out. I, of course, wanted everything on the menu but I did have to narrow it down. I got the chocolate chip waffle. It was so buttery, gooey, and chocolatey and melts in your mouth. I also had the cheesy grits. I love grits and the bowl was huge. I also ordered a chicken patty melt which is so great. Most places do not make a chicken patty melt and I appreciate the variety. It was really delicious and their Waffle House chipotle sauce is scrumptious. Of course, I never finish my food, the portions are so big. I took it home for dinner and still have a third meal waiting for myself. One child got the big breakfast plus the waffle with every topping and the other got a waffle with chocolate, peanut butter, and blueberry, and a beef patty melt and cheese hashbrowns. My husband got the big breakfast and a waffle as well. We still have so many leftovers, I love the portions, the flavor, and the customization. This is a place we will road trip to again. This restaurant gets some bad reps and some call it the Awful house. It is a reliable tasty spot for me. I have had the waffles here but my favorite is the hashbrowns. I love the fun names of scattered, smothered, covered and diced of the past. My new favorite is the breakfast bowl with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. I really like the down to earth friendly hard working people you meet here. I have been to this chain in many states, many time frames over many years and have never had a bad plate if food. In today's new normal mode, people just need to be mindful really. If you want your patrons to play ball. You might as well hire people that are willing to follow the guidelines as well. Servers were definitely wearing their masks correctly. Noses and mouths were fully covered, but the cooks were a different story. Two of the cooks, male and female had their noses hanging out of their face masks. Possibly spreading their lung droplets everywhere in the enclosed area. Hopefully they weren't sick or asymptomatic, because I really dont want a repeat of contracting the Corona virus. Please hire people who are willing to follow the guidelines. It'll settle your craving for food, but as far as satisfying you also, I wouldn't count on it. Environment is old, cold diner truck stop style. Someone's always cleaning something in the House. It's like Big Mac sauce with a kick. This place is really hit and miss. When they get it right, they knock it out of the park, but that might be only 30 percent of the time. Getting a crispy (not doughy, not burnt) waffle is something of a rarity, at least on the first try. What is even more frustrating is when a waitress puts the under done waffle on the table in front of me, and says: "that's not crispy, is it?" ... if you know it isn't, WHY SERVE IT? When you send it back, the replacement is often borderline burnt. Seems like the cooks can't get their head around the concept of anything between doughy and burnt. Sad thing is, I have eaten here before and had great food. Just wish it was consistent. Toast is nothing more than warm bread. The decaf coffee is rarely fresh. This is probably the best bfast place I've been to in awhile...and that is probably the most depressing thing coming out of my mouth. For the year that I've been in Ann Arbor, MI I have not found a worthy place worth mentioning. I got a buttermilk pancake, biscuit(big) and gravy, and cheesy hashbrowns (which is just a piece of cheese over hash browns) but the best I've ever had. The portion was kinda small, so that's the only complaint I have. The service was pretty fast and the wait staff was nice. I ate at the new waffle house on Monroe st near whiteford rd, today. It was my first time at a waffle house chain. I ordered a waffle and side of hash browns. I asked the waitress for real maple syrup but knew that was a reach, so I settled for GMO corn syrup and whipped oil which I I was told was butter. I never tasted hash browns like this. It tasted artifical and would assume it also was a GMO substance and not a potato. there are several of these chains in the Toledo area and figured its perfect for these people who don't care what they put in there pie-hole.( skip the $5 coffee ).I did eat everything on my plate in order to get the full effect. read more

I love waffles and WH makes the best f'en waffles around. I get so sad that the nearest WH is in Arizona :( There was a staff of three this visit. One male and two females. They seemed to be preoccupied, because there were these regulars that had left without paying and then came back an hour later to try and reclaim the table that I was now sitting at. I have never heard of someone physically leaving a restaurant for period of time and then try to reclaim the table they sat at. It was really weird. Other than weirdness going down, I enjoyed my two extra pecan waffles. They were good and I also ordered 2 sides of bacon. DON"T JUDGE... I probably will not get to eat them anytime soon. I went here with my mom and sister today for a late brunch. We say down right away (there was very little amount of people) my mom ordered 2 eggs, sausage, and toast with an iced tea. The tea was very good. Also it tasted like it was freshly brewed. As for the meal, it was very good. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a lemonade. The lemonade is SOO good! Waffle House had always been the "go to" place for my friends and I when we get those late night cravings. When I went away to college to a town that did not have one, I had to find something else to curtail that hunger. My visit tonight reminded me of what I missed all those years. Since I was already pretty full from a big dinner, I only ordered the namesake waffle. It was golden brown and soft but firm, unlike some places where they tend to be crunchy. The butter and light maple syrup provided just enough flavor to put a smile on my stomach, if that is possible. The waitstaff was very friendly and made sure we always had everything we needed. At one point our waitress even brought my friend a fresh cup of coffee instead of just refilling the one she already had. My scrambled eggs were done just right as well as my waffle. The lemonade/iced tea was good. The food came out promptly. The bad: They overcharged us on drinks. The bacon was burnt. I went here for breakfast with my parents after we lost power for a 24-hr period. The food was decent, and of course prices are good. I had eggs, hash browns, and cinnamon raisin toast w/apple butter. I would say the toast was the best part. The eggs were warm and cheesy, but a little runny for my liking.
