After my first visit and observation I'm reminded of Cheers "Where everyone knows your name" - your greeted warmly, treated like your family, handled with care. This truly a wonderful experience for all ages and varying tastes. A tremendous and welcome change we've come to endure from other dining experiences. Here the customer is THE primary focus from the moment you walk in til you walk out the door - BRAVO!! The food, had the Mayberry Mega where you pick your 6 omelette ingredients. Normally a crap shoot in most diners but here it was a home run. The ham and sausage were nice size chunks, juicy, and full of flavor. Spinach, onions, and tomatoes were fresh and perfect sizes and good quantities for the dish. That leaves the cheese my one "ding" would have preferred shredded cheese vs sliced cheese because of flavor and texture - but it didn't take away from a wonderfully prepared omelette made and severed with genuine care. Potatoes were frozen BUT they were prepared exceptionally well for dinner dare they were soft and cooked with a nice crisp. It was a superb surprise and a very welcome one. The coffee was fresh and hot and the standard "acidic" coffees you'd find in most diners anywhere, but overall inviting enough to have a few cups for a discerning coffee "snob" like me. Place was PACKED so all tables and booth were full, but they have a nice counter service with plenty of seating and space to move and eat and be very comfortable for your meal. What's fascinating is the incredible teamwork and collective desire to ensure your time, experience, and meal are spent enjoying your company and food not staring at your watch wondering about time. The entire restaurant was seated, served, and cleared with clean tables within the time I had to get and consume my own breakfast. So if you see a packed house on your arrival and don't desire that counter seat fear not - in this home environment your wait will be short and your day will lose no valuable time - well worth some minimal patience - you'll be glad you did. Your greeted as soon as you walk in by one or more of the extremely hardworking waitresses with a smile - your also sent off with a "Thank you. have a Good Day" by one more waitresses as you leave - both excellent touch of service class enhancing customer experience. I've never seen a more well-run diner or any restaurant from the waitresses to the cooks to the dishwashers the teamwork, attention to details, customer satisfaction, and to the incredible cleanliness of the restaurant despite the constant flow of customers - I've never seen a restaurant so clean and kept so clean the out the day. Good diner experience. The service was excellent, with quick service and lots of coffee refills. The food was basically what we expected. The egg white veggie wrap was nicely portioned without being over the top; a little mustard and hot sauce was required to complete the profile, but that's fine. The veggie omelette was good, with a big portion of hash browns and a decent quantity of veggies in the omelette. Hot sauce and mustard were also our friend here, but that works for me. The staff were very friendly and attentive, even beyond what we would have expected. All told, this was an excellent experience if you're looking for a fast paced diner breakfast. read more

My coworkers and I have decided to make a diner tour of Toledo during our lunch breaks once a week. This place was recommended to us by another coworker and is conveniently located near our office, so it was an easy choice to grab lunch here last week. We arrived around 11:30 and the 8 of us were seated immediately. Our waitress was right on top of grabbing our drinks and giving us a few minutes to check out the expansive menu. This is the kind of diner where the placemat doubles as the menu. Tons of options for breakfast and lunch, with a fair amount of healthy choices as well. One of the daily specials was chicken nuggets and waffles, which 2 of my coworkers went for. Both of them LOVED their meals and it had so much food that neither could finish. I had a healthy egg white and chicken scramble which was also really good. Surprisingly not oily at all and had great flavor. Our choices for lunch ranged from salads, to wraps, to breakfast, to the special of the day. We were all happy and full at the end of the meal and our waitress even split the check for us individually without us even needing to ask. Went there the day before Thanksgiving for breakfast and understandably so, it was packed. Service initially was great and our orders were taking quickly. No exaggeration, it was 45 minutes before the waitress returned to our table to tell us the computer system had crashed and she had to retake our orders. She was super friendly and apologetic, and after that our orders arrived to the table very quickly. Food was excellent and it's a cute atmosphere in a nice part of town, but I'd be hesitant to go here over several other great, local brunch places given the service. You can definitely get just as good of food and ambience elsewhere in town. read more

Other than the fact that Mayberry Diner's food does NOT suck, eating here is not completely dissimilar to eating at McDonald's. That is, 1) You always know what you are going to get. 2) Service is fast. 3) It's inexpensive. This is the third location for Mayberry Diner in Toledo, and for me at least, this one is very conveniently located. (However, I would say that I'm not at all sure that Toledo needs any more diners, especially in this part of town). The main reason that haven't given Mayberry 5 stars, is because several other places, such as Rick's, stack up a better in comparison. That being said, however, Mayberry just might do the Greek omelette and the Mexican omelette better than anywhere else in town. (With the Greek, you have to request a container of tzatziki). The 6am opening time make this place even more accessible. Definitely worth a visit. read more

On a quest to find the best breakfast in Toledo. This is my first stop. First of all, I'm a corned beef hash kind of guy, so that's what I ordered. It was pretty good, but I'm guessing it came from a can. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I can make that at home. It was good enough. The hash browns were good, but I like them a little more crispy. Wait staff was friendly. My only real issue was the toast was cold. The butter wasn't melted on it. If you want to know where all of the old people have gone, check out Mayberry diner. On our accidental visit today, the place was jammed packed with the elderly. We were on the hunt for brunch, and found ourselves at the incredibly congested intersection of Sylvania and Monroe. Just as we were going to pull in to Rudy's I noticed a sign for Mayberry across the street. Had the traffic not been moving so slow, I don't think I would have noticed the sign. We pulled in and grabbed a seat. Everything was perfectly generic from the "go USA" country music playing in the background, to the laminated placemat menus. Things seemed clean, and the service was quick and friendly. The girls on the floor make sure you are happy with everything you ordered. The food comes out FAST and the prices are surprisingly affordable. My "protein" omelette was less than $7 and came in at over a pound of food. It was a beast, and too much for me. Couple of complaints... they skimp on cheese. My omelette had one slice, and the grilled cheese we ordered with "extra cheese" came with a total of two slices. Also... they use a weird off brand sriracha made in China. It was pretty bad. All in all, a pleasant surprise. read more

First visit was with my brother. Had never heard of them before. Since then have been back a few times and have not been disappointed yet and hope I never will be. It is a small diner, but the food is good and it reminds me of the old mom and pop diners that used to be all over years ago. I frequent Mayberry Diner 2-3 times a week for breakfast, in my opinion, they have the best Omelette in Toledo (The Mayberry Mega - picture attached). I also like the fact that they open at 6am, so I can get to work on time! All of the waitresses are very friendly, especially Randi (I'm not sure how she manages to be so chipper at such an early hour, but she manages very well). Prices are average, coffee is fresh, my only complaint is the lack of real coffee cream, I can't stand the fake non-dairy stuff. I've compensated by having a 5 hour energy before I get there, and then drinking water! The omelette and waitresses are worth the inconvenience though. read more

Mayberry diner hired my daughter over the phone. Told her to come in to work then did not do any orientation, paperwork, or any training but threw her into a very busy Saturday morning working. After just 4 hours they called me to tell me that because she has autism she wont be able to keep up with the fast chaotic atmosphere. But when she left from her shift - more than a few of the employees told her what a GREAT job she did. She may have been a little slow, but she did not know what to do and was not trained. No one even bothered to tell her at the end of her shift that they did not want her back, and I had to fire her after her first day. Either this place is racist and thought because I am white she would be (I picked up the application) or this place is discriminating against my very intelligent, hard working, highly functioning autistic child. We stopped one sunday morning for breakfast, wait was about 10 mins, and our server (who was very polite and readily available) came right over once we were sat. Food was served hot, and it was delicious. I got the sausage biscuits and gravy, and my guy ordered a veggie omelet. They have creamer on the table that is cold stone flavors and almond joy! Came across this place after shopping at the mall with my friend one morning. I've been back a couple of times and have enjoyed the food each visit. The wait staff is very friendly and on top of things like refills. The chicken salad is very good. The French toast, omelettes, and pancakes are tasty as well.
