Right across from Centennial Olympic Park, 1 block from margaritaville It's dragoncon weekend, apparently they are staffed double normal. Food was perfect and delivered very quickly I had the chicken and eggs plate with toast and I had my hash browns steamed and with mushrooms. I usually don't steer too far from what I order at a place. Or when I'm in a region I will most likely get the same thing at multiple different restaurants. After a long week, it was time for some winding down and eating of food. Needed something comforting. Like hardcore comforting. This being on our way to our final destination we poured into a booth and had menus in hand. To continue on trend for the area, I went with Biscuits and Gravy with a side of hash browns. This was just hitting the whole week. I was hoping to continue the streak. However, that streak hit the skids. While sipping on my sweet tea, sitting with my colleagues, you get to take in the show behind the counter. You hear the hustle, you see the bustle, and get get all the T, not just the sweet variety. I know it is their workplace, but you get to hear everything. While our food was being prepared I heard them say that the gravy had turned. Funny thing was that I had made eye contact with the staffer saying this. What unraveled was almost comical. Food started coming out. Plate after plate my colleagues had their food and started to dig in. My hash browns did show up and I started to dig into them. As my colleague's plates emptied out, they still had not replaced the gravy. Then they had to ask that if I wanted to wait for the gravy. I was not going to make my colleagues sit around and wait for the gravy to be ready. Mind you, we were in here for at least a half hour at this point. And then to have them stare at me while I take my time to down my food...yeah, I'll pass on the awkward. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Otherwise, this location is rather busy, nearly all the time. But it does look like they shift around how you can order. There is a television screen that cycles through the same 3-5 minute reel, it can get really annoying when you are waiting for your food...especially if they are making fresh gravy. Waffle House offers all day breakfast and comfort diner food. The all-star special was a phenomenal deal because it included a full size breakfast for $15; coffee and juice are not included. The toast was on the soft side, but it was great for dipping into the egg yolks. The grits were thick and creamy. The bacon was cooked crisp and brittle with minimal amount of grease. Based on the restaurant name, it was a no-brainer that I explored the waffle. It was a thinner waffle, but it still had a soft chewier texture. (Typically, I would expect Belgian waffles to be softer because they are thicker.) This waffle was decent, but it would not have won any waffle competition. I had just flown in from Chicago and wanted breakfast food. It was noon and most places were serving lunch now. We walked into one place that recommended the Waffle House down the street and we were sold. As soon as we walked in everyone was so nice. I got the chicken protein bowl and my bf got the waffle and chicken sausage. The protein bowl was so filling. I loved the chicken! It was cooked to perfection, nice and moist and extremely flavorful. The toast is served with butter in between and it's so delicious. The waffle is not as fluffy as the pictures but was one of the best waffles I've ever had. Busy! This location is buzzing with activity from all the near by foot traffic. The service suffered in several area due to this. The meal I ordered never came. The people next to us didn't get their food either. Our server was also the cashier. She was eating a waffle with her hands at the front counter. We watched our food get served to other people and we continued to wait. The people next to us asked her what was going on and she told us the food was burned.....what an odd thing to say in an open kitchen style restaurant where we can see everything going on. This is my second time eating here, both times before a basketball game. The first (last month) time absolutely was terrible, our server didn't ask us if we wanted any refills, bring a second cup of coffee, check on our food, or take a single thing away as we were eating. Honestly, my worst Waffle House experience ever... That server was rude, got mad at another table because they didn't want to sit in her section, because the table and seats were not cleaned... she shouldn't work in the hospitality service. Last Friday, we came here before another game, and this time had a different server; she was much cooler, constantly asked us if we needed anything, and refilled our drinks. This was a complete 180 compared to last month. characters If you come here, sit at the counter instead of a booth, and hope you get a better server. They only have one male server here; he seems really cool and takes care of people. Due to the location of this Waffle House, the staff have to deal with a lot of interesting characters, you name it, you will probably see it here. This probably doesn't help their mood, and unfortunately, that is just a part of their job, so if you do get a good server here, tip them well. The food here is greasy, yeah... but for the cost and amount you get, at least you leave here full on a $15 meal, vs spending $50 at State Farm Arena and still feeling hungry. My friends and I came here after going to the aquarium and the coke factory. It is on the other side of the park and since we went at like 3 pm we were able to get seated right away. It was al of ours first time at waffle house so we ordered breakfast. I am a breakfast 24/7 kind of person. I love breakfast food. I got the hashbrown with eggs and sausage on top. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was pretty tasty. I tried some of my friends waffle and it was so freaking good!! We were planning on eating at a waffle house sometime during our trip, so why not. The service was a bit chaotic as we did not know who was our server or at the end how to pay. Located directly across from the world famous Centennial Park, this Waffle House was the perfect start to a few days in Atlanta, as our hotel was located not too far away. Upon entering the staff, as expected was just as welcoming as all Waffle Houses across the country, but this one seemed a little bit more elevated as they had televisions mounted on the wall and shared history facts about the restaurant "in case you didn't know". Given the location, it makes total sense. As for our food, I stuck with my go-to... All-Star Special, but instead of my grits in a bowl, I ordered some hashbrowns via my kids' request... and of course, I had to have a sweet tea (yeah, at 7:30 am). Customer service was great. Food was good, and it was the perfect start to an early morning in Atlanta. If you're not in walking distance, there is a parking lot located behind the building. Parking is not free. Main dish I had Waffle & side of eggs, scramble , man those waffles are just so good, eggs were good as well. Hubby had the The All star special , waffle, eggs, bacon, biscuit & grits , sounds like a lot & well depending how starving u are it can be a lot , we probably had half our meal but no biggie made for great leftovers the next morning. I ordered the All-Star Special and while it was OK, it doesn't rival iHop or Roscoe's. The waffles were OK. I thought they'd be a bit more special and tasteful given it's part of the name. The eggs were fine, the bacon was crispy, hash browns were overcooked and hard. The biscuit was terrible. It tasted like it was cooked on a grill that hadn't been cleaned in over a month. Went here one day for early breakfast and was told there's not only no in-person seating, but you can't even ORDER at the window. We had to order take-out *online* while standing outside the store. Then, they charge a 20% service fee for TAKE-OUT at the window. For Waffle House!!! Is the cost of the food not paying the server who is preparing the food for take-out??? If it's not enough, then raise your prices. Automatic service fee on take-out is ridiculous. Unfortunately this was the only breakfast option open at 5:40am. It's my first time going to Waffle House so I didn't know what to expect. When I went to eat there were only 2 workers for the ENTIRE restaurant- the chef and the waitress. Hats off to them for being able to pull it off by themselves. They served us the best that they could. The food was good, it wasn't the best. It kinda tasted like something you could make at home. The portions and price are fair IMO. The place is nice, you have views of the park. There's enough space on your table for your plate. This was my first time dining at a Waffle House. I was on travel and do have a location back home but far across town. So I was excited to see what all the fuss was about this diner. Upon arriving I noticed there was a line to enter and a vendor across the street selling comical t-shirts like ones with Redd Foxx on it. Eventually I was let in and guided to sit at the bar (chef's table). The menu had a lot of options but was here to try the pancakes. I ordered the Classic Waffle. By seating at the bar I was able to experience seeing all types of food being prepared and how the staff was working like a well oiled machine. Some entrées looked really tasty where perhaps need to try them by finding the Waffle House back home. Soon a big waffle was placed in front of me with the words WAFFLE HOUSE imprinted on it. I was provided with butter and syrup. The waffle was soft with a nice buttery taste to it. It was what I was expecting, a very good waffle. The flavor was delicious.
