I was at Ponce City Market after an appointment while I waited to meet up with someone there. It was still early in the morning, and I realized I hadn't eaten. And I was going to be waiting longer than I initially anticipated, so I decided to stop here since not much else at PCM had opened yet. I was greeted and seated immediately. There were quite a few tables with other guests, but not many, and everyone was pretty quiet. After a quick look at the menu, I wanted something simple and not too heavy, and I had a taste for grits. So, I decided on a grits bowl with eggs, bacon and a bit of cheese. The young woman who took my order was pleasant, and it didn't take long before she was back with my order. If I were to come again and order the same thing, I'd choose a different meat option or wouldn't get any at all. I was expecting slightly crispy crumbled bacon, but instead there were strips that were awkward to eat in the bowl. They were quite flimsy, so not the right texture to crumble myself or to really cut them. I ended up just pushing them aside. There was a little more cheese than I would've liked but not a deal breaker. The grits were a nice texture, but the eggs were cooked a little harder than I'd asked for. It was layered so mixing it made it taste better and gave everyone a good taste of the finished product. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and everything was finished but the ricotta pancakes (this person never really makes a "happy plate"). I thought my eggs could've used 45 fewer seconds and the bacon was all crispy. I'd prefer it not to break away and I end up picking up pieces off the plate. The service was friendly. It's all about location. Every time I visit Ponce city market this breakfast place is always packed. I'm talking line out the door, so I took a trip on Friday mid morning around 11:30am to check it out The service was decent. I feel the food was average. There's nothing that stands out on the menu to me. The pancakes taste average. The French toast was great. It actually was the star of the show while we tried pork and chicken sausage. It was just OK. The breakfast potatoes were normal potatoes. I will say that the bacon had a funny aftertaste (pork bacon) They have outdoor and indoor seating. The establishment is decorated fairly cute, but there are far better breakfast places in my opinion. However, if you're at Ponce it's easy to navigate yourself to this place . Had a breakfast date with my hubby. We walked in and were greeted with friendly hellos. Everything was clean and bright. Our server was helpful and friendly. My hubby ordered the pancake breakfast and loved it. I ordered the ricotta pancakes. They were huge - 3 plate filler pancakes! The ricotta is cooked into the pancake and a layer of lemon curd sauce is spread on the top pancake. It had a bright flavor. I do wish the lemon was on each pancake, but that's just me. I loved how the edges of the pancake were crisp. I could only eat almost half of the serving, so I brought home the remainder (which was enough to share with hubby ) for another meal. Was initially concerned about a long wait coming here since every time I pass it at Ponce it looks packed, but luckily that was not the case at all. I came with a party of three at 10am on a Wednesday and there were only a handful of other people present. The server was friendly and the service was prompt. I ordered the Avocado Toast with a side of potatoes because I was worried the toast would not be filling enough. Contrary to my concern, the toast was quite filling and delicious. However, it was served on a piece of paper on a metal tray. There were over the course of the meal the toast got a little soggy from the toppings, and the paper kept getting stuck to the bottom. This resulted in shreds of paper sticking to the toast which was a little disgusting. Would be an easy adjustment for the restaurant to make though. The potatoes were crispy and complimented the toast nicely. The interior is cute, and the floor has a tile with little pancakes throughout which I found just adorable. The seating included counter space, outdoor seating, tables, and booths of many sizes to accommodate different parties. I do believe that you have to pay for the Ponce parking if you use one of their lots which is an added cost. read more

Pancake Social absolutely delivered. We had a party of 11 and our server, T, was genuinely friendly, patient, and welcoming the entire time, which is not easy with a group that size. The food was outstanding. My omelette was light, fluffy, and packed with mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, and cheese. And the cheese grits? Ridiculous. Creamy, flavorful, and easily some of the best I've had. I've seen people compare this place to IHOP and honestly... not even close. Hey y'all I am back. Let's get into it. Parking - have to pay for parking. It's located on the side of ponce city and they do not validate. Validate if you come to eat when they open very very early. Service - everyone was sweet to me. Tables were clean and the restaurant! Bathroom is located through the back doors into another small room by ponce if you are looking. The kitchen is open, so you can see your food coming out / them preparing it. Food- I def came for the pancakes because it's called pancake social. . I got the blueberry type. So yummy, fluffy and warm. My food came out relatively fast. I also got the eggs scrambled and the hash brown patties. The eggs nothing special. The hash browns were a little on the salty side but good color and crunch. I also had their fresh orange juice and it was good. Not too sweet. They have other juices I didn't try and was out of one at the time. Timing - I went after my run club so it was around 9/930. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately. When I was leaving the crowds started coming in. I would advise if possible to make a reservation if not early in the morning. They have seating inside , outside , and at the bar. I would definitely come back. I would say they don't have alternative meat options. Red meat , pork, and chicken but no turkey or vegan options in meat fyi. I walked in and I was given a seat right away....only downside was it was outside on the very edge of their patio and was directly in the sun so I was absolutely roasting for my entire visit. This place has potential, but my experience was underwhelming. I was excited to try the lemon ricotta pancake, but the only lemon flavor came from the topping. The pancake itself had no zest or brightness -- just a very minimal, lackluster effort. I also tried the chicken sausage, which had a strange aftertaste that I couldn't get past. On top of that, the service could use improvement. When I walked in, the cashier kept chatting and didn't acknowledge me. I had to wait for someone else to come from the back to take my order. You can't miss Pancake Social when you visit Ponce City Market (PCM) be I enjoyed my meal & the service wasn't bad. There is outside seating and plenty of seats inside. As a local, it wouldn't be a place I would go back to often, however, if you're visiting, it is definitely worth trying for breakfast or brunch. PARKING: It cost to park at PCM, however, they validate your ticket at a kiosk inside! I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my parking validation because it didn't seem to work. It seems like you have to punch in your license plate number at the kiosk that's in the restaurant versus paying in advance, and then putting in a parking code. read more
