It's all about location. Every time I visit Ponce city market this breakfast place is always packed. I'm talking line out the door, so I took a trip on Friday mid morning around 11:30am to check it out The service was decent. I feel the food was average. There's nothing that stands out on the menu to me. The pancakes taste average. The French toast was great. It actually was the star of the show while we tried pork and chicken sausage. It was just OK. The breakfast potatoes were normal potatoes. I will say that the bacon had a funny aftertaste (pork bacon) They have outdoor and indoor seating. My hubby ordered the pancake breakfast and loved it. I ordered the ricotta pancakes. They were huge - 3 plate filler pancakes! The ricotta is cooked into the pancake and a layer of lemon curd sauce is spread on the top pancake. It had a bright flavor. I do wish the lemon was on each pancake, but that's just me. I loved how the edges of the pancake were crisp. I could only eat almost half of the serving, so I brought home the remainder (which was enough to share with hubby ) for another meal. So yummy, fluffy and warm. My food came out relatively fast. I also got the eggs scrambled and the hash brown patties. The eggs nothing special. The hash browns were a little on the salty side but good color and crunch. I also had their fresh orange juice and it was good. Not too sweet. They have other juices I didn't try and was out of one at the time. Timing - I went after my run club so it was around 9/930. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately. I walked in and I was given a seat right away....only downside was it was outside on the very edge of their patio and was directly in the sun so I was absolutely roasting for my entire visit. There were also a lot of bugs around my table, I had to constantly swat them away. The food was great, I had the chicken and pancakes and when I was done with my meal I was stuffed! Parking was easy, especially for a Friday around 10:30/11 a.m. They offer free parking right in front of the restaurant, and there's also a parking deck nearby, which is super convenient depending on the time of day. This place has potential, but my experience was underwhelming. I was excited to try the lemon ricotta pancake, but the only lemon flavor came from the topping. The pancake itself had no zest or brightness -- just a very minimal, lackluster effort. I also tried the chicken sausage, which had a strange aftertaste that I couldn't get past. On top of that, the service could use improvement. When I walked in, the cashier kept chatting and didn't acknowledge me. I had to wait for someone else to come from the back to take my order. Really enjoyed our meal here this morning. Our server was really friendly and fast. The coffee was hot and the orange juice tasted so fresh and delicious! My husband got the chicken and French toast and could not stop raving about it. Checked Pancake Social off my "breakfast spots to try" list! Came here for a breakfast meeting with my boss and we had a wonderful time. We were one of the first groups there and finding parking was a breeze (you do have to pay so be mindful of how much time you have so your time doesn't expire). The decor was very simple and cute. White walls, cute pics, fun sayings around the restaurant. Not a stuffy environment at all. This was my first visit and will definitely come back. Each staff member was super friendly and I appreciated how our waitress made sure that we had everything we needed. I ordered buttermilk pancakes and added blueberries (wise decision) with a side of eggs and chicken links. The pancakes were so fluffy and light which I truly enjoyed and the chicken links were really tasty. I don't know if they were old or what but it was not good, at all. The chicken sausage was fine. The pancakes were a little undercooked and also very thin. The undercooked part was the part I wasn't ok with. Outside was brown but it wasn't cooked all the way through. There are so many breakfast places in Atlanta. It's only natural to compare places. I would normally try something else if I didn't like what I ordered but I'm afraid to come back and order an omelette because of the taste of the eggs. You can't miss Pancake Social when you visit Ponce City Market (PCM) be I enjoyed my meal & the service wasn't bad. There is outside seating and plenty of seats inside. We were lucky to get a table. Watch the hours as they are a breakfast and brunch spot and are not open all day. No silverware so they gave us plastic cutlery in a pack. I ordered the grit bowl which the menu says comes with a buttermilk pancake. The reviews even say it does. But the server said it's a typo and refused to honor it. The food came out fast, which was the only positive of this experience. I ordered a side of chicken sausage which was completely raw in the middle and made me sick so I sent it back. The server didn't even apologize, just said she was taking it off the check. The manager didn't even come out to talk to us. If you are considering eating here, DONT! First, I will say they did a great job getting the order made quickly and out the door with my delivery person. All of the utensils and condiments I could have needed were added, and that attention to detail is great. The food however was a bit disappointing. The Cinnamon Sticks were dragged through so much granulated sugar, it tasted like I was chewing a mouth full of sand. You have to scrap half of the added dry hard sugar before you pour the syrup on them or all the syrup is ruined pulling the dry sugar off, making everything taste like wet sand. The texture was really bad because of the abuse of just doing way too much. The size of the bread is great and so is the portion for the price- but the mountain of raw granulated sugar ruined the whole dish. I spent $14 (happily if it meant getting what I wanted) to build my own omelette. They have so much cheese everywhere else on the menu, I thought maybe I would fair better by building my menu item to avoid the cheese. I only added bacon and mushrooms and to my disappointment, some white goo was smeared all on the inside (most likely to hide the burned eggs) with an additional side of this gross stuff on the side. I tried to scrap off what I could but the omelette was ruined. The potatoes pancakes were a nice add on (I didn't order those), but tasted like old fryer grease. I think it's safe to say, they should change their oil ASAP. The English muffin was perfect. Lightly toasted with nothing added onto it. Exactly what I hoped for. The bacon was great. Cooked well and exactly what I ordered. My delivery person got the order to me almost 15 minutes faster than projected and my food was still hot. Everything was packed in separate containers and secured with lids. Maybe things would be better to complain in person, but based on the other reviews- I'm not banking it.
