One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. Unless you're lucky enough to find street parking, you'll have to park in the garage, which wasn't my favorite. Other than that, everything was great. The bartender was incredibly kind and patient, especially since I'm very picky about drinks. She helped me choose one that I ended up loving. Have visited here twice. The first time the food was great. Service was very good BUT their parking validation QR code didn't work and a day later I was charged $15 for parking. Reluctant second attempt today. Walked in to an empty restaurant. Sat at the breakfast bar. Asked for the proper way to scan code for parking. Still wanted to charge me $15. Ordered a coffee and a water. Waited 10 min. Never again saw my server. So I left. Hopefully won't be charged for parking. Two hard strikes sadly. read more

SUPER unimpressed with my visit here. Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Interestingly enough, I had never heard of this establishment. I ended up visiting because a friend decided to host a birthday brunch here. I was about 45 minutes early so I decided to grab a seat at the bar to kill some time. Initially I was cold while sitting there, but once we moved to a back section, it was hot and there was no air movement. I must also say that it takes forever to receive your food AND drinks. It doesn't matter if you're sitting at the bar or at a table. I was willing to overlook this because the food was really good. I'm praying it wasn't because I was so hungry from waiting. Unique was an awesome, carefree server/bartender. Any who, try it out for yourself. There's free parking available in more than one location just in case the parking garage is too full. I love eating at Breakfast at Barney's. I recently went with a friend who was trying it for the first time, and later my sister and her family joined us at the booth next to ours. The ambience was cool, laid back, and welcoming as always. The food was delicious per usual! The only downside was the service at our table. My friend and I had a pretty long wait between receiving our meals and I had to get the server's attention a few times. Meanwhile, the server assisting my sister's table was very attentive. Breakfast at Barneys was a whole vibe even solo! I popped in during the AAMU vs. Howard game weekend before heading to the tailgate. Michael Jackson tunes were pumping throughout the restaurant. I didn't put two and two together immediately, but it was MJ's birthday and the entire staff were rocking MJ inspired caps! They even gave me one to take home! Aside from the vibes, the menu was right up my alley. I had the hardest time deciding on a meal because it all sounded delicious and the options for non beef and pork eaters were plentiful! I finally decided on the Queen City Shrimp and grits and it was slap yo' momma good. It came with a piece of buttered brioche toast...omg! I'm still dreaming about that buttery goodness! ATL's popular brunch scene. We visited on a rainy Saturday morning and walked in around 10ish--luckily, we were able to grab seats at the bar right away. We devoured the deviled eggs (so good we ordered a second round). The Savannah fish and grits was satisfying. Service was attentive. This was a great start to our Saturday morning. It has been years since I visited this spot. Arrived when they first opened, the food was okay and the service was good. The lamb chops were the best! Four stars for the lamb chops alone, and three stars for everything else. I was disappointed with the grits.They were pretty runny. I couldn't even eat them later when I warmed it up. Good not great. More like a 3.6 so I'll round-up. I'm not a coffee drinker so I was blown when the server informed me that they don't serve diet Coke, only regular Coke and Sprite. I wish I had higher regards, unfortunately I don't. The only have valet parking only, I went on a Monday Morning at 8am, I was the only person in the restaurant, and still had to pay $5 for parking. I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, fruit, and the waffle. The eggs tasted like rubber. The waffle was decent, on equal par with Waffle House honestly. I really enjoyed the food here. It was worth the wait since I had been avoiding this place due to the lines/wait times. I valet parked which I believe was $5? But there seemed to be a few street parking spots nearby. I walked in on a Tuesday (?) and was immediately seated at the bar per my request. The bartender was friendly and I found it interesting that they kept reiterating that this is a cashless restaurant. Maybe they've had issues with that? I thought the decor was lovely and chic. They had a framed tv playing The Fresh Prince I think. I ordered the Emperor's breakfast which came with eggs, turkey sausage, brioche toast, house made jam, and I chose creamy grits as my side. My goodness, everything was delicious, especially those grits! Waaay better than any other creamy grits I've had in Atlanta. The brioche toast and jam was so good. I ordered a coffee for my beverage which wasn't the best. Not sure if they do lattes or anything either. Unfortunate since this is a breakfast restaurant. I brought a party of 7 for a Saturday brunch to celebrate a birthday and overall had a really great experience. This was my second visit. We didn't have reservations, but the wait was surprisingly short which was a great start to the day. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and drinks -- everything was flavorful and came out well prepared. A special shout out to Chantelle, who was both our bartender and waitress. She absolutely elevated the experience for us with her attitude, service, and energy. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had a great time celebrating. The only downside was one interaction with another staff member who was delivering coffee, water, and drinks to our table. I told her I had a question, and she responded "give me one second." When she returned with more drinks, she quickly said our waitress would be back soon to answer all of our questions and hurried away. It came across as dismissive and a little rude. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and when they arrived, we asked for a dipping sauce only to find out they were out of the sriracha mayo that normally comes with them. My sister and I both ordered the Yard Bird. The fried chicken was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, but the waffle was just okay and didn't really stand out. My mom ordered the salmon croquettes with eggs and grits. The croquettes had a much stronger fish flavor than we're used to and weren't what we expected from a traditional salmon croquette. She said the grits were just okay as well. Overall, the ambiance and service were the stars of our visit, but the food was underwhelming for us. This is not our first time here. And service is as good as always. I also find that some dishes are consistently good while other are a hit and miss. Sausage side was a disaster. Dry and stretchy ....probably precooked and kept under the food warner for too long. Even the classic peach cobbler was not up to mark. We were told that they might have changed the recipe to add more crust. Lobster Mac and cheese and shrimp and grits were really good as always. One thing I have an issue with is their 'no modification policy'. I understand the need to maintain the intended flavor but not having flexibility to accommodate individual restrictions or tastes is definitely not a good inclusive approach for a hospitality business. Our food took a very long time to come out and when we finally received our entrees one of the people in our group was still waiting because apparently they made it wrong. We didn't receive his food until everyone was done eating. They did take his food off the bill. Then when we went to pay, the waitress came over with the card machine. we asked for the itemized bill and she said she would print one out afterwards. We should've known this was strategic because we didn't see until after we paid that gratuity was already included for our party of 4. So the waitress was double tipped after horrible service . Let's talk about the ambiance first. Beautiful art deco decor with tones of emerald green, gold and salmon. A beautiful asymmetric flower arbor at the door and a lovely mural near the valet area. All great spaces for photo ops. My friend and I sat at the bar and was right on time. We got the last seats and it was busy from then on out. Make a reservation to be safe. Our server was friendly. I got the steak and eggs... my steak was overcooked but tasty. My friend had the salmon croquettes, she wasn't wowed but we enjoyed our girl time together. Insane. Delicious. Drool-worthy. I got the peach cobbler chicken and waffles, eggs with cheese, and sweet tea. What worked: -- really friendly staff with quick service -- there was a long wait to be seated but it moved quickly -- the chicken on the waffles was well seasoned, moist, and light (since they used breast) -- the peaches and waffles were delicious and sweet, and there was a good waffle to syrup ratio -- the cheesy eggs and sweet tea (we're talking Southern sweet) were delightful -- the space was crowded and lively, with a DJ playing music outside. Not great for deep conversation but good for hanging out or celebrating something What didn't work: -- they didn't have just normal tap water. Everything (except for coffee) was bottled, which you had to pay for. My sweet tea was awesome but I definitely would've appreciated a glass of water to break up the sugar -- I really wish the chicken and waffles had something fresh with them. Some chopped mint, fruit, veggies, anything to break up the sweetness and heaviness Overall, I'd most definitely return the next time I'm in Atlanta. It took almost 10m for us to be greeted by the bartender to take our order. I got the French toast with turkey bacon(also they don't sell anything pork here) and my MIL got the catfish and grits. The mimosas were good, orange and watermelon. My MIL enjoyed her catfish and grits while I waited an additional 15-20m for my French toast. I had to keep requesting an eta and almost left.
