One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. Unless you're lucky enough to find street parking, you'll have to park in the garage, which wasn't my favorite. Other than that, everything was great. SUPER unimpressed with my visit here. Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Interestingly enough, I had never heard of this establishment. I ended up visiting because a friend decided to host a birthday brunch here. I was about 45 minutes early so I decided to grab a seat at the bar to kill some time. Initially I was cold while sitting there, but once we moved to a back section, it was hot and there was no air movement. I must also say that it takes forever to receive your food AND drinks. It doesn't matter if you're sitting at the bar or at a table. I was willing to overlook this because the food was really good. I'm praying it wasn't because I was so hungry from waiting. I love eating at Breakfast at Barney's. I recently went with a friend who was trying it for the first time, and later my sister and her family joined us at the booth next to ours. The ambience was cool, laid back, and welcoming as always. The food was delicious per usual! The only downside was the service at our table. Our food took a very long time to come out and when we finally received our entrees one of the people in our group was still waiting because apparently they made it wrong. We didn't receive his food until everyone was done eating. They did take his food off the bill. Then when we went to pay, the waitress came over with the card machine. we asked for the itemized bill and she said she would print one out afterwards. We should've known this was strategic because we didn't see until after we paid that gratuity was already included for our party of 4. So the waitress was double tipped after horrible service . I brought a party of 7 for a Saturday brunch to celebrate a birthday and overall had a really great experience. This was my second visit. We didn't have reservations, but the wait was surprisingly short which was a great start to the day. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and drinks -- everything was flavorful and came out well prepared. A special shout out to Chantelle, who was both our bartender and waitress. She absolutely elevated the experience for us with her attitude, service, and energy. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had a great time celebrating. The only downside was one interaction with another staff member who was delivering coffee, water, and drinks to our table. I told her I had a question, and she responded "give me one second." When she returned with more drinks, she quickly said our waitress would be back soon to answer all of our questions and hurried away. It came across as dismissive and a little rude. But there seemed to be a few street parking spots nearby. I walked in on a Tuesday (?) and was immediately seated at the bar per my request. The bartender was friendly and I found it interesting that they kept reiterating that this is a cashless restaurant. Maybe they've had issues with that? I thought the decor was lovely and chic. They had a framed tv playing The Fresh Prince I think. I ordered the Emperor's breakfast which came with eggs, turkey sausage, brioche toast, house made jam, and I chose creamy grits as my side. My goodness, everything was delicious, especially those grits! Waaay better than any other creamy grits I've had in Atlanta. The brioche toast and jam was so good. This is not our first time here. And service is as good as always. I also find that some dishes are consistently good while other are a hit and miss. Sausage side was a disaster. Dry and stretchy ....probably precooked and kept under the food warner for too long. Even the classic peach cobbler was not up to mark. We were told that they might have changed the recipe to add more crust. Lobster Mac and cheese and shrimp and grits were really good as always. One thing I have an issue with is their 'no modification policy'. This is certainly a much try. For my entree I had the fried catfish sandwich with fries. The fries were fine; I didn't really care for the Parmesan they sprinkled on the fries. However, the sandwich was really good. It was well seasoned, cooked perfectly and the fillet was huge, so the bun coverage was exactly what I'd hoped for. They were large enough for 2 or 3 people to share. Definitely worth the price. The middle was soft and the edges were extra crispy. The regular maple syrup not shown was good as well. I didn't use the syrup provided. I ordered the soul rolls to go. It was my Thanksgiving plate in an eggroll. I ate it cold, but it was still delicious and filing. There is a garage to park in but there is also parking on the street for those who think you need to pay for valet to eat here. They offer fresh watermelon juice, which I had and man was it refreshing! I ordered the lobster Mac with no extra lobster meat and that was enough for me. The lobster already came with lots of meat and the pasta mac was hot and cheesy! My boyfriend ordered a smoked ol' fashion which was actually served with tequila and it was surprisingly very good. I ordered a Moscow mule with whiskey and that was delicious. I will be asking for that substitution from now on. As for the atmosphere-- so pretty. I love the gold accents and the velvety booths. There's a really big bar when you first walk in and they were playing Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which I thought was a nice touch lmao.
