Chicken and waffles and breakfast potatoes

Very quick service, we had reservations and they were able to seat us early! The food is served warm and came out with a very short wait. It's right next door to a beautiful hotel so the ambiance is calm and welcoming!

Popped in for a quick bite because we're stay in the hotel connected. Very small establishment. Definitely not for a large party. A few booths and high tables. We barely got in only three of us. We actually had to wait for a few minutes. Saturday night and the theater across the street was open. They cater to that crowd and only offer an abbreviated menu when the theater is open. So with a ten year old in tow and a limited menu, there must be chicken ( tenders, nuggets) LOL She said that they were good (?) I opted for a drink. Perfect balanced and strong slightly sweet. No problems there. Chicken Tacos. Can't go wrong with chicken can't go wrong with TACOS (ever). Considering the fact that it's in a hotel , with a limited number of choices AND seating, I'm not overly impressed or disappointed They met the mark. Not too bad, not too bad at all.

Catfish with Cajun grits (I picked off the scallions which dressed up the plate a bit)

We walked in 15 minutes before the end of brunch service but Cassandra told us they could accommodate and they did! It was an unseasonably chilly, rainy Atlanta day so we each opted for hot tea. The Cajun shrimp and grits was delicious, as well as the Cajun catfish and grits. Catfish is always hit or miss but this was fried to perfection and wasn't mushy like catfish can be, or soggy even though it was placed atop a bed of grits swimming in Cajun sauce (which tasted like lobster bisque btw). I loved it! Cassandra was extremely personable and provided top notch service! Would definitely return for brunch and to check out dinner on a return trip to Atl. 10/10

Shrimp & grits w/ fried egg

Honestly I was quite surprised. My first time here and they did not disappoint. We were seated right away and they had live music. The food was great! It's a limited menu on Sunday brunch but we were able to make it work. We all ordered our dishes with blackened salmon but after several min, were informed that they were out. No problem. I opted for blackened chicken for my grits instead of shrimp (I've been having an adverse reaction lately) best combo I didn't know I needed! The blackened chicken was evenly portioned with flavorful seasoning and the grits were perfectly creamy. My friends that ordered shrimp were disappointed - it seemed like a bad batch. It was rubbery and didn't smell right. But the F&B manager was gracious enough to bring them a side of chicken breast and took 30% off the bill for the inconvenience. We had the standard cocktails - mimosa with blood orange & French 75 with tequila repo. Very good The only negative comment I had was the wait time. Our server didn't check on us for atleast 30 min. At 1:30p it's only 2 groups - ours and 1 other. Plus maybe 2 couples at high tops so we didn't understand the reason for the neglect and lack of communication. There were atleast 3 other servers on the floor and it wasn't anywhere near busy. Overall, great brunch spot if you want a relaxed vibe without the chaos of a Sunday. I'll return during the week and see how their reg menu and the crowd is then.

Arrived around 6pm to eat and have a few drinks with friends before a show at the Fox. They arrived about 30mins before us and had already scored a table. Server was prompt and very nice. Everything came out fast and no mistakes. Out of our party of 6, it was impressive that she took everyone's order from memory and nothing was missed. The only hiccups were the slaw tasted ruined and my husband's beer glass was dirty. We told them and they fixed his glass and said they would take care of the coleslaw. Ambiance was nice. It felt like it would be a cool little place at night. Highly recommend you stop in before a show. We parked in the Purple deck for $20 and it was just a short walk from there.

Got down to the Fox Theatre early so decided to pop into Ponce Room for a quick cocktail and bite before the show. I have been before but this time was much more crowded, persons with the warmer weather. It was only me so I was able to get a seat at the outdoor bar. I was able to place my food and drink order immediately. The delicious poke nachos came out quickly but the drink took a long time with an apology for the wait. This also happened to me last visit. Something to keep in mind if you are going to a show after. I was able to pay quickly and get to the show across the street in plenty of time. Nice option to have before a show, the bartenders were working HARD (bravo!) and I will be back before another show in the future.

If you are heading to The Fox Theater for a show please make sure you stop by The Ponce Room! It has a perfect blend of tasty cocktails and savory bites that gives you a great start to any evening on the town! The food was simple, tasty and not too heavy. The waitress was quick and efficient! I think the service was so great because they are use to the pre show rush. The ambiance is trendy casual. You will feel all positive vibes from the diverse patrons!

Came here for brunch. The food was amazing. The service was a tad bit slow. This place is located inside a hotel. I'm glad the wait wasn't long at all to be seated. We were seated where we could watch our own tv. I just wished the table was a bit bigger. It was cluttered for three people. I ordered the beignets, pancakes with a side of bacon, and the Ponce drink. Everything I had was delicious. I highly recommend it.

Oh my! What a delicious treat! The pimento cheese is amazing! Best I've ever had. The wings were tasty too. My drink was good. The service at the bar was slow but, they were busy. I definitely will return to try the burger and fish and chips. It's across the street from the Fox Theater. A win, win!

Burger and tots (and one fry)
Rebekah A.

Cute little place to grab a bite to eat right inside the Marriott. It's across from the Fox and I see how that helps business for sure. Small (very small) dinner menu but, something to eat for most people. The drink menu had lots of options though if you're looking for that. Grabbed a couple burgers and drinks quickly. Service was very good and efficient. Whole area was clean. The burgers were tasty and the tots I got with it as a side were very good/crispy! Would definitely drop in again if nearby for a bite. Prices vary for drinks in the teens, most menu items as well. Burger with side was $16 and the sour beer I tried was $6.

Shantel K.

Thank God for our beautiful server who knew how to make a DRINK!!! They were the perfect brunch vibe drinks. She even allowed us to try the blood orange mixer (no idea what it was). This place was a nice way to end my ATL trip. Food: Good! My friend raved about the grits she got with her breakfast. She thoroughly enjoyed the beignet and that's a lot from her as she went to culinary school. The sauce that they placed on the salmon burger was delicious, just wish they would have added more so I could truly get the flavor. You can honestly skip the side of fruit, really wasn't worth it. The sweet potato pancakes were perfect, nice flavorful, and fluffy! The ambiance: I guess if we sat outside it would have given a different feel, but for the most part it was nice. Nothing spectacular but also well above subpar. I would recommend brunch here but definitely get a reservation if you do not want to wait or get stuck sitting at the bar. Breakfast Potato Skillet- Crispy potatoes topped with ham, mushrooms, cheese, onion, peppers, tomatoes & chives.

We had the pleasure to eat at The Ponce Room before attending a Broadway Show at The Fox Theatre. We chose the Ponce Room because it is conveniently located across the street from The Fox Theatre, they offer a discount to Broadway show season ticket holders, and the Brunch Menu looked delicious. While there, we enjoyed live music by a local musician named Chip Jones. The ambiance was perfect. We started with some refreshing mimosas and a friendly greeting by our waitress, Jenny. The staff were incredibly professional and friendly. We interacted with two bartenders, a kitchen server and our waitress. Everyone was great! The food portions were very large and did not disappoint. We ordered a breakfast potato skillet and turkey club with french fries. I'm usually not too crazy about french fries. However, I have to tell you, these fries remained salty, crispy, and delicious through the whole meal and I finished my shared portion. Again, the serving portions were huge! The potato skillet was piled so high with deliciousness! I kept digging through the skillet and really never made it to the bottom. It was really yummy. All the food used fresh ingredients. The sauce on the side of the breakfast potato skillet really complimented the meal. Turkey club sandwiches are one of my favorite items to order off a menu. I have to say, this by far, is ranked as my favorite club sandwich. It was filled so high with meat and the fresh avocado was absolutely amazing. We plan to make this our dining spot before every Broadway show for the rest of the season. We've already decided that we will need to order the Beignets and the Chicken-N-Waffle Stack on our next visit. We are so excited to call The Ponce Room one of our favorite spots. We are so happy they partnered with The Fox Theatre to give Broadway Season Ticket Holders, like myself, a discount on show days.

The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I decided to have a tapas-style dinner with food from The Works and just had to grab some chicken from Delilah's. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, except when it comes to picking a favorite between the flavorful options. I knew that I didn't want or need a full meal and opted for their 3 whole wing option that came paired with cornbread. The young man who took my order was so polite and patient, as there were a few folks in line and waiting for previously placed orders. He let me know that my order would be ready in about 15 minutes so I took the time to continue my food-finding journey around the market. When I returned later, I had lost track of time and figured I'd just poke my head around their stall to see if my chicken was ready. It wasn't at that moment but I took some time to observe the process. There was only one guy in the open kitchen and prep area creating all of the meals and he was on the move. If I could add smells to my review, this one would smell like fried chicken and cornbread. It was all so fresh! When my order was ready, I only made one other stop before heading to my car to go home to my family... but not before I tested those whole wings from Delilah's. When I say that they were fresh out of the grease? Babehhh. It's like he just threw them right into the basket only seconds before. It was sooo crunchy, so juicy, just a fantastic wing. The hot sauce was a nice pairing but some spice in the breading/meat would have taken it over the top but this chicken was delicious. No notes.

It cured our souls. We asked the generous, wonderful lady at the counter about the story of Delilah's: was she a real person, who is she, etc. her answers made us fall in love even more... this is a genuine, family-owned and operated enterprise! We love, love, loved our food and I can't wait to go back and soport again!!! You gotta try it.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

The chicken was alright, but I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, let alone consider it the world's best. This joint is located in the lower hub, but I believe there's also an outside street entrance. Upon entering, we were told to sit anywhere. The interior is rather dim, and it wasn't super clean as there were still some crumbs on our table from the last people who dined there. There is also a very casual feel to the place, exemplified by the fact that food is served on styrofoam plates and paper trays. FOOD: 2-Piece Dark (Thigh & Leg) (4/5) - Chicken was nice and crispy, but nothing crazy special to me. I was expecting it to be spicier. Liked it more with the Louisiana hot sauce on the table. The chicken rests on a slab of white bread and is served with average slaw and sweet baked beans. Fried Okra (3.5/5) - First time having fried okra. Not bad, and I guess frying it eliminates the slimy texture associated with okra. SERVICE: I am not usually one to complain about service. The person who served us was sweet when we did interact, but it was so hard to get their attention to order and get the bill. But beyond that, the kitchen was noticeably SLOW. My brother and I literally only ordered one plate/portion to share since we wanted to try more places, but it took over half an hour to receive our food. They do emphasize that food is cooked to order, but I still found the wait to be baffling. TLDR// Come here or don't, but if you do, make sure you are not on a time crunch.
