I'm a Thumb's Up fan, so I have nothing but praise for the experience. We were able to be seated quickly, and the waitress was efficient. We went in on a Sunday morning but beat the rush so the lobby filled up as we ate. The restroom was clean and well-stocked. All of that said, the catfish is my regular go to and it was not as good as usual. The piece of fish was thinner than normal, so the ends were non existent (just breading with a very thin fried crispy sliver of fish inside it). I might need to start branching outside of my catfish comfort zone.

This is arguably the best breakfast in Atlanta. Good 'ol country breakfast with huge portions, low prices, and great customer service. This is one of my favorite places to bring visitors because it never disappoints. We always order the french toast (best in the city) and grits (mandatory). Give this hidden gem a try!

Thumbs Up Diner in Midtown never misses! Classic family-style brunch, always under $20 and always top tier. No mimosas, no reservations--just good food, free parking, and consistent vibes every time I always get the same order: Ultimate Seaside Breakfast ( A fried fish fillet, 1/2 portion of our Sassy scramble, a small shrimp and grits, and a biscuit or toast. Always a 10/10 Go check them out and tell them I sent you!

Fast, friendly, and delicious food. Me and my girls visited thumbs up before heading home and it was delicious! The servers were all very nice and we got in and out in no time! Highly recommend

While visiting Atlanta, I had the pleasure of stopping by Thumbs Up Diner and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As someone who's partial to soul food, I was sold the moment I opened the menu. In addition to the usual breakfast staples, they offered cheese eggs, grits, and fried fish...music to my Southern-food-loving soul! The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. I got two huge pancakes, eggs, and meat for just $15--an absolute steal for the amount and quality of food. Everything was hot, flavorful, and comforting. The service was another highlight. Our server, Mercer (I think that was the name), was professional, prompt, and kept things moving despite the busy atmosphere. Speaking of which, the vibe was lively and welcoming, perfect for a casual breakfast spot. (I ate my food so fast that I forgot to take pictures)

This place was a recommendation from the Ritz valet. I was GLAD TO GO HERE! Anne was our server and she was wonderful! The food is delicious and you feel like you are at home. The location is easy to miss so pay attention. I will come back soon!!

Fantastic!!!!! The portions were massive and the flavor was on point. I had 2 pork chops and was nearly done with the first one, so going back with 1 + pork chops. My guests also weren't able to finish theirs either, and they also enjoyed the experience. Oh, and yes, they accept cards now!

I'm visiting my cousin in Atlanta. I enjoy eating at Thumbs Up Diner. The food is consistent. My cousin knows. When I get off the plane. We have to hit up Thumbs Up Diner. I had the fried catfish with stone grits and soft scrambled eggs. My cousin had smoked chicken wings with waffles and a fried eggs. Both dishes were delicious. When you walk inside your greeted with southern hospitality that's timeless. The waitress who brought waters to our table informed us that our waitress had been in a car accident on her way to work. She explained that she is a little shaken up so she would be assisting her. I thought that was a beautiful gesture. The ambiance is layed back. When you visit Atlanta, GA make it your business to check out Thumbs Up Diner. To all my yelpers out there let's continue to eat our way through the world.

Never a bad meal from Thumbs Up Diner. I'll go out on a limb and say that this diner is a staple and well known diner amongst ATLiens. The food is always served hot and fresh, as it is cooked to order. If you choose to visit any location on a weekend, be sure to pack your patience as they can get busy. Nothing negative in any of my experiences. Just go, eat, and be merry. Btw, I sat at the bar...

extremely tasty! love a true diner experience and that they aren't cash only anymore. cozy spot, get here before 9:30 for a chance at a table on the weekends. shrimp and grits were VERY tasty, some of the best i've had in atl. the sassy scramble (eggs with with lox, dill, and cream cheese) was also delicious! i love to get a pancake on the side. coffee is hit or miss in my opinion, but is always usually pretty strong (which i prefer for diner coffee) we sit in Kya's section every time and love her! go to spot near downtown for sure

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.

Typically I research and take a peek at the menu, photos, etc. but I didn't this time. Peters Street has ample street parking and a few lots for a fee. Just check the signs before you leave your car. Seating is casual - find a spot to sit and then order from the digital menu at the door. Orders are taken at the counter but entrees and drinks are brought to your table. The owner Josh was extremely accommodating! He gave us some tastings of coffee, tea and the French toast. 10/10! I personally ordered the Blueberry Matcha and a Bowl (done keto). Everyone's meal looked amazing and not a crumb was left. We left with some of the canned whiskey drinks - Strawberry Whiskey Sour and Kentucky Mule made with bourbon. Josh said best enjoyed mixed together! The photo opps, food, drinks and aesthetics are so good here. That said, the aesthetic feels less Buckingham Palace and more whimsical London antique shop -- charming & eclectic. I ordered the blueberry lavender matcha and a breakfast plate. The menu names were definitely on brand, but not quite catchy enough for me to remember them later. Both were solid, though, and hit the spot. Service was a highlight. The cashier really leaned into the accent and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, which made the whole experience feel more immersive and welcoming. Parking was easy on an early weekday afternoon -- always a win. The space works well for small parties, but be prepared: tables are small and seating is close together. One tip: avoid sitting upstairs in Eden. It's noticeably warmer than the rest of the restaurant, and you'll likely leave smelling like breakfast. Overall, a fun, themed spot with great service.
