Hot Honey is better than Lemon Biscuit. Don't fight me. I mean both biscuits are great. The chicken is fried to perfection. The biscuits are flaky and don't stay intact so you know it's made fresh But in my opinion, the lemon pepper is just way too salty for me. They Al's use dark meat which I don't have a problem with but if you do, they have other food options like pancakes and catfish & grits. I wish they'd put more bread n butter pickles on the sandwich cause they can get lost in all that flavor and I happen to love B&B pickles. The first time I came I just ordered the biscuit and on my most recent visit, I got a side of their hash brown casserole. It was fire. So tasty. Visited on a Sunday morning around 10am. There was about a 25-minute wait, which someone mentioned was actually pretty normal for them and not considered bad. The place itself is cute and has a nice vibe. The menu has several solid options, and we tried the salmon patties meal (Uncle Bob's), a couple of chicken biscuits, and a waffle. Honestly, I went in with high expectations based on the name, but the food was fairly average. I expected the biscuit to really stand out, but it was just a standard biscuit--nothing particularly memorable or "wow." We'd been anticipating checking out Bomb Biscuit for some time, as I'd heard about them from their days taking weekly biscuit orders before they had a physical location. I'd forgotten to make a reservation, so we took our chances and stopped by anyway. The space isn't very big, so we weren't surprised that it was full, and the wait was 45 minutes to an hour long. We had plans at a specific time somewhere else nearby, so we decided on placing an order to go. The process was easy enough, but I have to mention that the to-go ordering screen was filthy! Once we got our food, we weren't blown away like we'd expected to be. I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit with chicken sausage, while the two who were with me ordered hot honey fried chicken biscuits. We didn't take any pictures, but the biscuits were much drier and more crumbly than we anticipated considering all the hype surrounding them. They started to break down with every bite, and we felt they were lacking flavor overall. My family also said that the hot honey chicken was very mild and could've used some more seasoning as well. New location, but same great taste! Bomb Biscuit has recently moved from Old Fourth Ward to Grant Park. There is street parking, a parking lot, and a parking deck, so there is ample parking. The wait was estimated to be 25 minutes, so while we waited, we visited Perc Coffee. However, it ended up being shorter than expected, which was great! They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we sat inside. The service was a bit slow, but Joy, our server, was apologetic for the wait. We knew she was covering quite a few tables, so we went ahead and ordered everything on our first encounter. My husband ordered the maple-butter waffle and chicken, and I ordered the hot honey chicken biscuit. We each ordered a side, which included the hash brown patty and the hash brown casserole. As we waited for our meals we looked around at the decor and were later informed that it was black owned, which we assumed, and some of the pictures on the wall were of the owner's family which was cool. Food arrived and everything looked good. Biscuit was the first thing to catch my eye and I'm 99% sure they're homemade which made even more sense once you tasted it. Everyone enjoyed their food, my omelet was ok. They could've added more flavor, peppers and onions. I should've gotten Uncle Bobby's breakfast bc those salmon patties were good.
