I LOVE WaBa, but this location is... just OK. My broccoli had tinges of yellow (aka "old"), the chicken was gristly and more dark meat than breast meat (and with one sliver of bone), and some of the beef was gristly. I emailed Waba Grill with their provided email address on their main website to inform them of my concern, and it's been a week and I have not yet received a reply. This is the email: To whom it may concern, Yesterday me and my co worker went to this Simi Valley Location, next to Target. Ordered our usual and after enjoying the delicious meal. I wanted to order more vegetables. I kindly ask a team member there, and was replied to with such rudeness. This was after 5:00 PM yesterday, Saturday, 6th of June. I wanted to see his name and I looked at his badge, and his name is Ryan. Please do check the cameras if you have them in that location. Me and my family support this branch and was very happy to know that Waba Grill is in Simi. Unfortunately yesterday was a bad experience. I tried this place for the first time last week & got the shrimp plate. It was good but not amazing. I think I'd try something different next time. The tiny amount of salad that came with it was the most yummy part. A friend picked it up for me so I don't know anything about the service but the price was pretty cheap which I like, and it wasn't too high calorie which was great too. read more

We went and had a wonderful tasting meal around 7:30 pm and all of the sudden one of the employees decides to start scraping the flat oven top with a metal scraper. Mind you this place had most of the room filled with other people dinning and this guy has a brilliant idea to start capping away. I've had chicken bowls at a lot of places and this is one of the best. Super fresh and tasty chicken, cooked perfectly. I loved the sauce bar with extra teriyaki, siracha, scallions and pickled carrots and jalapeños. Affordable as well. I recommend this place for sure! Also, the staff was really nice. The past two times i've gone to waba grill have been very bad experiences. About two weeks ago I had lunch there with a friend, we order two chicken bowls with avocado and the girl preparing our food had her hair down and in her face, not even a hat or a visor. How is that acceptable? We were very skeptical to eat our food and find a hair in it. About 15 minutes later, she is finally done preparing our food. She was taking her sweet time making our bowls while there were two other customers waiting to be helped. I work in the food industry and I know the feeling of being alone is while there is customers waiting to be helped but I just think that's ridiculous. Today my friend and I go in and order our usual (chicken bowl with avocado) and they don't have the avocado. Waba grill is located near trader joe's, target, and lassen's and across the street from sprouts. Would not recommend I have picked up phone orders to go ( for one person) and they have managed to get my order wrong both times....I asked for no rice and extra veggies and I got literally a bowl full of cabbage with 3 pieces of broccoli l. Then when I tell them that doesn't look like extra veggies to me they want to argue about it. I usually love this restaurant, however today was NOT a good experience. When placing my order, I was told there was no white rice, only brown.. huh?! Isn't an Asian inspired restaurant supposed to have white rice? I was then told they had NO Waba sauce, they ran out. The icing on the cake was being told there was no green onions, they had also run out of this. The gentleman, whom I assume was the manager, was very rude when I expressed my dissatisfaction. I've been to WaBa Grill plenty of times. Except this time was the absolute worst. Usually when I come, I believe it's the owners or managers of the restaurant and there is always one girl with brown hair who are so sweet and polite and always ready to get your order. But today I ordered takeout through grubhub and once I get there, there is a girl with blonde girl (didn't catch her name) who was extremely rude. She didn't greet or say hi even though I did. Well turns out she never put it in my order and walks away and calls the cook. The cook said he'll get it on it. When first of all it's her job to put it in the order for the cook to make it. She didn't even apologize nor did she seem to care. I noticed while sitting down and waiting for my food, she was rude to every customer!!! I'm seeing the reviews now and noticed this is a ongoing problem with the blonde girl. If any managers or owners see this...they should definitely fire that girl. She's horrible. read more

Everyone says to start with the positive...its was clean. Ok now that that is out of the way. It's was an awful experience. The guy who took our order hated his life. Ordering was a ordeal that ended with me getting the wrong thing. The food had barely any taste, so I had to pour on the side sauces.
