I've been coming to Campos for over 7 years now. The food is always consistently delicious and fresh. You can't really go wrong with anything you chose to eat. I love their Tostada's with either just beans or with carnitas. All their burritos are amazing. One of my favorite breakfast burritos is the egg, cheese, beans and bacon. Perfection! Love their salsa bar too! Service is always great! Casual dining with indoor and outdoor covered patio seating. I love supporting family owned businesses. Prices are reasonable. Good size servings. Food was ok, nothing great. Ok portions, clean tables patio looked nice. Came out quick. Maybe their asada is the way to go, as I found a piece of it in my chicken enchilada. Stewed chicken tasted good but too wet for the quesadilla, which was not grilled enough, either. All the cheese was a pre shredded orange and white mix that didn't really stay melted. Even in the beans. Rice was disappointing - watered down? the color wasn't orange or yellow but off white and overcooked. A ton of sour cream and guac on nachos, see pics. Been a long time customer for over 10 years. Always order the chorizo breakfast burrito, but they've definitely gotten stingy over the years. Aside from them only giving you 2 napkins at a time, even after asking for extra napkins, the burritos get smaller, and this weekend i finally had the worst experience. I ordered two burritos to-go and when i got home and we began to eat them, it literally tasted like nothing...absolutely nothing. Well went there 1-6-26 around 830am and asked if they could make a huevos rancheros burrito and she said yes. Great. She proceeded to give me My change and even though the register said 11 and odd cents change she only gave me ten and the cents. When said something she said oh. Then I said put it in the tip jar but she put the dollar in the tip jar she put it in the register? Weird. When I got home and opened the burrito it was just bean, rice and egg. No ranchero sauce. It was confirmed that I got food poisoning from eating here. Someone did not wash their hands while preparing my burrito, which is unacceptable and disgusting! Hygiene clearly needs to be taken much more seriously. Staff should be washing their hands, wearing gloves, and properly cleaning dishes and prep areas. This place is unsanitary and disgusting. This place has the best hard shell shredded chicken taco in Ventura county. Campos has been around for a long time because the food is good, service and quick and friendly, they have delish salsas. We always get the tacos, this time I added the combination. The sauce that smoothers the tamale and cheese enchiladas gives a home feel taste. Super good food. I have gone to several of Campos Burritos locations since the 1980's. I no longer life or work near any Campos locations but whenever I'm in the area I always go for the Avocado burritos & tacos. Their salsa is a must on the avocado burrito. read more

Oh my gosh I love campos! Especially their chips! I've been here a few times. The most recent visit - portions were generous and still high quality and tasted delicious. Lunch for 2 combo plates and an added hard shell taco came to 23 bucks and we were both full Tacos are not street taco sized and packed with ingredients. Closest thing to a San Diego burrito, minus the size!!Besides the delicious burritos, the salsa is what draws me in. I hate the awkward salsa dance when trying to get mine. Maybe get a bigger salsa bar, always awkward for clients. One of the biggest road blocks when thinking of enjoying Campos. It happens all the time. So my best friend and I loved this place... But since we moved back from Arizona it was just bad... She normally doesn't say anything because she doesn't want to sound rude or a karen but it has to be said. We pay for the food for the same fresh Mexican food. But when we go for to take home she gets the three chicken taquitos with extra quac...but the first time it was beef .. I didn't check because I always knew campos was amazing service... Then the second time it was not fresh quac... The third times the charm guys... So not great. The chicken taquitos were soggy and the guac was old. And she just had it.. I told her I can get a refund and she's like I don't want that either... It's always this or that and I don't want to sound annoying . This is what happens to businesses now .. either you get to go up to a screen tap tap tap and you either get great food or not . And it's embarrassing.. I worked in a restaurant and I know I gotta double check in the expo area before sending it out even if it's a rush hour.. or just a slow day.. it shouldn't be this hard.. but again I will come off rude too and told " make your food at home then " I don't have any photos of this because she just threw it away. Worst breakfast burrito in the county, let alone in Simi Valley. I was so "hangry" thinking about the $16 I wasted. The only thing that was "normal" was the Dr Pepper soda. Even the salsa bar was in need of fresh ice and eventually a worker put some shaved crushed ice. Too late though, the Pico de gallo was withered to death. The tortilla chips were stuck together and was kinda fun to separate. It was the first time going there, and my last. Being an older business, the inside of the restaurant felt untidy. Even the customers looked a little seedy; typical of the old timers living here in Simi Valley. For now on, it's Mission Burrito right across the square. I should've went there as originally planned. Their breakfast burrito has always been great and didn't cause any diarrhea. Food safety preparation at the other place goes to show how they're not following the laws and rules. Now, a few years later from the last update, I can still say I thoroughly enjoy the food we get from Campos, and we order from here a lot. One of the things I appreciate is that with as many takeout orders as we get, they are always correct. I add things, change other things, which leaves lots of room for error, but they continue to get it right. That impresses me because no other place does. I hope I didn't just jinx myself cuz takeout is all we do here. Lol. Granted, the menu is quite limited, and I'm pretty much stuck on ordering the same shredded beef taco and chicken enchilada each time, but as long as it tastes good, I'm fine with repetition. Their salsa is a bit spicy for me, but it has good flavor, so I eat it. Their guac has improved over the years, and it's got great flavor. I always get a lot of that because I tend to eat the taco at one sitting and save my enchilada for another meal. The guac goes on both, and then I have leftovers for chips. :-) The combo plate comes with rice and refried beans, and the prices, while they've gone up (what hasn't), they're still reasonable. read more

It was fast, green salsa was bomb, prices are not astronomical I ordered the Special Burrito with eggs and carne asada and cheese. The Carne Asada was very chewy. Sorry, very chewy. The tortilla was warm, the cheese wasn't melted but cold. That's my only complaint is that they could have taken 1 more minute and melt the cheese on the tortilla just a bit. You know what I mean. The chips were also cold they could have been under a heat lamp is all. I know it's somewhat considered fast food and the place is busy but melt the cheese a little and have some warm chips and do something to make the carne asada a little less chewy and I'd give a 5 Stars. read more

Great food, no doubts there. Might be the best burritos anywhere in this valley. Service, or prep work rather is as fast as possible while maintaining the quality you expect. I think the people who work here are the best part about Campos. Especially David. He always greets me by name and knows my orders. I only ever get 2 things. And it's always good. Just some good old comfort food- nothing fancy- a good go-to. Years ago, they had some bad service for a little while and it made me sad because it would turn me off from coming....one girl in particular who I am SO glad is gone. Not authentic Mexican but also not fully Tex-mex. They have the crunchy tacos, nachos, and taquitos of a Tex-mex restaurant but also have enchiladas and chiles rellenos you'd find at a Mexican restaurant. The food is quite good. We ordered crunchy tacos and taquitos; both with shredded beef that was nice and soft. The salsas are ok. The red salsa is basically a tomato salsa with absolutely no spice. They have a green "salsa" which is basically like they threw the pickled jalapeños in a blender. It tastes good and has a decent kick but really nothing crazy. The combination dishes have rice and beans making the meal pretty filling. Unfortunately the beans taste like they come from a can. They also don't have any lime or lemon to put on your food. Service is friendly and quick though and the restart is very very clean. They have a good amount of tables indoors as well as a patio. Overall it's not bad especially with their very reasonable prices. FYI they give the biggest serving of guac with the taquitos! read more
