We came on a Friday night around 6:30. The place was busy. They took our orders and told everyone (including people in line outside of our group) it would probably be 30 minutes for our food, but we were fine with that. They arranged some tables outside for us to eat since we were in a pretty decent sized group. The service was fine, but our food ended up coming out 45 minutes to an hour later. I think they probably had a fryer down which explains the wait. Otherwise the food itself was typical Mexican food - I had a special of a cheese enchilada with 3 beef taquitos, and it came with a good serving of rice and beans, and a scoop of guacamole. Kiddo had a plain cheeseburger and fries, and the burger was fine but he said one of the buns was pretty dry (which I tried it and it was a little hard and crusty, not entirely sure why). One thing to the business - the drain grates in the patio let the smell of the sewer come through, which can get pretty gnarly when people are trying to eat. read more

This spot is in Simi Valley. It's pretty cool. It's nothing fancy but it's a hip little dive. Good good bomb food. Then Sheila and the taco were so delicious. The salsa had a little kick. Another afternoon breakfast get-together after the morning training session. This place serves breakfast later than most sit down Mexican Restaurants around here. I tried the breakfast quesadilla with carne asada and it was pretty good. You get the quesadilla, scrambled eggs, refried beans and some sour cream. Nice lite meal. Food was over priced and the bean dip was cold and watery. It's been awhile since I had been there, which used to be my favorite place to eat. But they went downhill and prices are too high for an establishment like this. Carne Asada burrito is now $18.95 a La cart and the value meal is between $12.95 and $18.95. If I'm going to pay these prices I expect exceptional food. I would recommend to pass and go to a different Mexican establishment in Simi valley. We have enough of them. read more

About 12 years ago, I came here to try their food but the counter area where you place your order smelled like a urinal and I left without ordering. All these years later I thought I would give them a try again. I walked in and it smelled exactly like a urinal. Again! I ordered anyway since I was doing takeout. The fellow who took my order was excellent and welcoming. The food is AMAZING! Carnitas burrito with red beans and green sauce is delicious with a lot of meat They have a nice patio which doesn't have a smell. I had some higher hopes for the tacos here, they were decent but not by any stretch the best or great ones that I have had. First the staff is very friendly and the prices are very good. But the tacos at least the plate I ordered were just too greasy and their just wasn't a super good flavor from either the beef or the chicken. I saw a few people with wet burritsos and also some enchildas that looked really good, I would try those next time. The refried beans were pretty solid already the cheese on top was oddly melted, rice was odd so didn't eat much of that. I was going to Simi Valley to meet up with a friend for lunch who lives there and he suggested Mission Burrito and yes, they have more than just Burritos. This place even has a full bar so once we are able to eat outside (again) when I return, I'll have a margarita with my meal. My friend had the Carne Asada Burrito and I had beef Tacos Dorado (crunchy). The tacos had excellent flavor with lots of cheese and lettuce. We ordered chicken enchilada, potato taquitos and chili Colorado. The Colorado has wonderful tender meat. They NEED to add some spices! Potato was seasoned with nothing. Not even salt or pepper. The enchilada was horrible. No nice red sauce like you get at any Mexican restaurant. Rice beans no flavor. I felt like taking it back to the restaurant. It seems like they are hit and miss. Ordered Takeout tonight and paid and waited a half hour when I started noticing people ordering and leaving after me. I asked nicely about my order and was told they didn't have that name or order. I showed my receipt to two employees and was told to wait. When they came back still unable to find it I requested it made asap or a refund. They made it but in total I ordered at 6:37pm I didn't get it until 7:20. I also got no chips or salsa and I assume maybe they charge for it now which is why and I didn't order them. But also the prices are now insane - I got two plates with 2 cheese enchiladas and rice and 2 ala cart tacos $50! Don't think we will return. The wait and losing my order was enough I had screaming crying kids but the prices are insane and not worth the drive there anymore. It's too bad cuz the food is so yummy! We ordered a burrito- one would expect a burrito to come in a foil wrap with all the fixns- see photo for the soupy mess we got as a "chicken burrito"- leading to the question where on Gods green earth do they serve burritos like this- and how can we - with all our might- change their ways. DISASTER with a Capital "D". My wife and I decided to visit this popular Mexican restaurant this evening ~ and boy, did we experience a NIGHTMARE. Where to start? How about while standing in line, we noticed the "Cook" [probably one of the owners] in the kitchen area preparing dishes. If I recall correctly, he had on a Blue T-Shirt. Anyway ~ NO GLOVES AT ALL, while he scooped food to put onto a plate with his bare hands! I couldn't believe my eyes. He then proceeded to wipe his nose with the very same hand, and continued preparing food. UNBELIEVABLE. Next up ~ our Chef's Special Carnitas Enchiladas Plate was delivered to our table as tough as leather, and looked like it had been made 5 hours earlier. We couldn't even chew the food. I asked the waitress to please send us a better [fresh] plate, and she returned with much the same food, just a little hotter. Last on the list of our wonderful dining experience: There were actually 3 eating at our table: Me, my Wife, and a GIANT FLY that was constantly buzzing around our dishes. HOW NICE! All in all ~ it was by far the worst experience I've ever had eating out in Simi Valley. Not only will we never return, I'm seriously considering to issue a Chargeback on my Credit Card, since the food that was served will probably keep me awake all night long tonight. TO SAY THE FOOD AND CLEANLINESS WERE HORRIBLE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. We ordered kids' meals which included a drink. My kids do not drink soft drink so we asked for milk, they didn't have milk so we asked if they had juice. The guy helping us said yes, I asked him if the juice was included with the kid's meal and he said yes. We went to sit down, our food came out but I was waiting for the beans and chips I ordered but they didn't come so I checked the receipt to see if they had charged me for the beans. They did not charge me for the beans but they charged me for the juices. I went to talk to the person in charge because I was not happy about them charging for the juices when I specifically asked. She told oh well you already pay for them but I will give you your money back if you return the juices. I told her my kids had already drank from them but she said it didn't matter. I took the juices back, she return the money to me and then put the juices in the trash can.... Seriously? I could have keep the juices but she was really rude and made me feel frustrated. We used to go to that restaurant at least once a month after this we won't be back. I couldn't believe she rather win an argument than keep a happy customer. We came on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy, I figured that was a good sign. Order at the counter and they will bring the drinks out to you. The coronarita was was good size and had nice flavor. We started with a small guacamole, spicy salsa and chips. The small guac was the perfect shareable size. The spicy salsa was spicy with nice flavor, a few too many onions but overall good. I had the carnitas plate., with corn tortillas. The carnitas was seasoned well. Unfortunately the texture of the meat was all the same, no crispy edges on the pork. The pico was a nice touch as well as the guac. The beans were solid, the rice was amazing. This place was hoppin!! Went on a very busy Friday night. Curbside pickup and to-go orders only. My order was taken very quickly, had to wait a bit for it and had a small issue, however, it was quickly resolved. Employees were all working very hard to get the guest in and out quickly. I commend everyone at this location for their sense of urgency. Its quite a challenge to do they're job, especially at this time. They were all complying to Covid protocol. The restaurant had their signs posted for social distancing and mask mandate. The manager was on it, he was doing a great job making sure everything was running smoothly and all customers were complying to the mask mandate. I was very impressed!!
