This place is so amazing I wanted to go back immediately. My husband and I shared the birria pizza, and the smell of it in my car made my mouth water. It was perfectly balanced with the meat, pico de gallo and cheese. The sauce was delicious as well. The salsa is also delicious, the green tomatillo one is my favorite. Awesome! A new food spot on this side of town. Besides Firehouse Cafe and Royal Bagel Deli this block of town is a foodie dead zone especially for afternoon meals. I was very excited to see the grand opening set for today. As the proud vocal supporter of local business you best bet I was one of the very first in line. I think I actually was besides family Standard procedure for this sort of visit for me is to sample. I tried the asada, pollo, al pastor and Birria. I was pleasantly surprised! Usually chicken is last in my rankings but the pollo here is very tasty! Recommend! Second favorite was birria. So much yummy flavor. The asada was good too! To be fair the al pastor was my last place but I am also very particular. Paired with my passion fruit drink I easily washed everything down. Service was quick and friendly. Our experience with the Nunez Taco bar catering service was fantastic!!! Such a lovely family owned and operated establishment. We had a graduation party with about 30 plus people and the taco bar was the highlight of the party - everyone loved building their own creations! We had plenty of food with some leftovers too. There were 3 different salsas, chopped raw onions, cilantro, radishes, cucumbers, grilled onions, and jalapeños... along with all the fixins... We will definitely be using #nuneztacobar again! The service is friendly and helpful- they're willing to customize stuff for you as well. The al pastor is the best in Simi valley and their chips and salsa-though expensive for what it is-are great. One of the best new taco spots in Simi Valley! They carry a variety of meats that I enjoy -- including cabeza, lengua, and sometimes, even suadero! Their birria is delicious and full of flavor, and their pastor is also very tasty. The tortillas are some of the softest corn tortillas I've had, and their taste and texture almost seem like they're hand-made. Super friendly staff are quick with their service, with a fast take-out only counter. There's a plentiful salsa bar, with an exceptional avocado salsa, and absolutely fabulous red and green salsa, also. My husband and I tried this place the other day. We just got a round of tacos. The meat was good. The lengua lacked a little seasoning, but was cooked beautifully. The salsa had a nice flavor and it was pretty quick service. I am giving a 100% honest review. The food is authentic and decent for sure. I personally think campos on Tapo is way better. However I love trying little hole in the wall spots. This place got my order wrong the 1st time I wanted a Chicken burrito but got an asada burrito instead. The lady apologized when I called and said it was the chef as she got my order correct and she will honor it next time. I called next time and she did honor it I specifically told her my order and when I arrived the chef was gonna put sour cream on the side when I already said in the burrito. Also, I definitely asked for guacamole in my burrito last time but they were trying to charge me for it this time when it was supposed to be honored (since it was part of my order) the chef said "he remembered" ya right- couldn't even put the right meat in it! And then proceeds to put Avacado pieces instead of guacamole. Never coming here again. They can't get the order right at all. Super disappointed and frustrated it's okay I'll stick with Campos (much better) read more
