After talking with the owner and staff I was pleased to learn they made their menu more traditional and much more to my tastes. I went with the Beef Lule Kebab, and added a small Tabbouleh Salad, and a large order of pickled Veggies. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Prices were more than fair considering the quality and portions. The restaurant was clean, welcoming and the open kitchen is always a good thing in my book. It's good seeing the team putting your meal together! Getting home and opening my meal I was pleased to see two juicy Kebabs atop basmati rice, as well as hummus and a grilled pepper and tomato. Upon digging in I got a high quality tasting meal. I do wish I had gotten the garlic sauces I ordered, because it would have been a great addition to the meal. I walked in and the music was blaring. I felt like I had to shout, to order my food. Beef shawarma plate, a chicken shawarma plate and a mixed kabob plate. Shawarma plates had the protein on top of a bed of rice. Hummus on one side and a little salad. The salad was lettuce tomato and a few onions. A pita bread was also served. The hummus was really good and it seems like they make the pita bread, in house. Unfortunately the salad wasn't dressed, and no salad dressing was provided. In addition to that both shawarma proteins were bland. The kabob plate was big chunks of chicken breast and beef charred perfectly and both meats were still juicy. However, they charge extra for sauces. Also, I am not a fan of the house sauce. Ordering online from their website is always easy, and my orders are always ready on time! It has a very fast food vibe to it, bright and welcoming, and the TV does a good job showing off photos of their food (and I saw the cashier use it as reference for another customer). Talk about an authentic, family run, delicious Mediterranean gem in Simi Valley. Been driving by Café Noor for the past couple of months every Saturday before Pickleball. Been telling myself I need to eat here and what better way to introduce this restaurant to friends and acquaintances, is to get my meet Up group together. Been working with Alan (owner) on scheduling the date, time, and how we all need to have a long table so We can all sit together. The time has finally come and about 15 of us showed up. The restaurant greeted us with a long table that has been set up with napkins and utensils with Alan and his staff with welcoming smile's. We each ordered, paid separately, sat down, and the food came out great. Everyone said the food was fantastic, service was great and place is impeccably clean. It was so easy to schedule a large group with Alan, looking forward to many gatherings at this delicious restaurant. Ordered pickup the other night cause they are one of the few restaurants open till 10pm around here in simi. I got the beef shawarma wrap and my family got the chicken shawarma wraps and a beef shawarma plate. First thing is that we were really confused on what we were eating. It was so weird cause it tasted like Mexican, but it's supposed to be Mediterranean food! We noticed they spray a mayo aioli sauce on everything what's up with that. And then the shawarmas were not even flavorful, the chicken wasn't thinly sliced, it was like thick cubes of chopped chicken. The beef was super bland as well and not sliced properly for shawarma standards. On another note the tabouleh tasted sooo OLD, like sour and almost moldy I was disgusted couldn't even eat it after the first bite. I noticed the sides they just put in a fridge and don't make fresh, I wonder how long they left that tabouleh in there, yuck. That honestly really threw me off on how rancid tasting it was. Additionally the hummus tastes out of a package, generic. The pickled beets were the only good thing I tried. Food was bland, both the wife and I finally tried this place with high hopes, but the experience was just not great. Once we ordered we grabbed a table with our drinks. The food came out fairly quickly, the server sort of just tossed the boxes on our table, I got the impression he was not enjoying life. At $50 for two kabab plates, they might have at least offered us some of the sauces their menu mentions. My Lule was okay, just about tasteless. My wife had the beef kabob plate and felt the same. We even sampled each others dinner and agreed that something was missing, flavor. When I came here for the first time they had bowls similar to chipotle where you could choose your meat and toppings. They don't have it anymore but should bring it back. They immediately counted our party and assembled the tables to accommodate us. Then he just kept offering us napkins, drinks, and assistance. Let me just start by saying that I've tried many different mediterranean food spots ranging from porter ranch, the valley, to Santa Clarita, Noho. No spot even comes close to the flavor and authenticity of the plate I had today. I got the combo plate which had both steak and chicken. Both meats were cooked incredibly well and were juicy & fresh the rice was not dry at all it had the perfect texture and the hummus and peta bread were perfection. This place deserves 100 stars.
