This place has really good bun bo hue. It's a bit pricey but the broth is very flavorful and the portion is pretty good. I went here at 2pm, and the place was surprisingly still crowded. Despite that, the service is still pretty quick. The place is decorated decently as well. It's a good Viet place for some quick and good food.
Came here on a Monday for lunch and the place was packed. Ordered the bun bo hue (small) and it was plenty for me. All the food came out fast. Meat was tender. Only complaint was that the soup was on the fatty side and my pork piece was all skin
This place is always busy, with often a line of people waiting outside and reservations marked by a notebook left in the front where you add your party's name + number. Now, even though the line is long, the wait goes by surprisingly fast with the restaurant turning over tables quickly! Walking in, the place gives classic viet bellaire vibes, often filled with families and friends talking as they enjoy their soups, even during hot weather. We tried the bun bo hue, banh canh thap cam, banh mi bo kho. All of dishes were stellar. The bun bo hue broth was super rich and had a great deep flavor. It was also paired with the typical veg you can expect to have when eating bun bo hue. Banh canh thap cam had a generous portion of meat and seafood, with thick udon-like noodles. The broth was very clean tasting, a little bland for my taste but still great. Note that this banh canh is not the thick gelatinous kind that some may be used to, regardless, still great. Banh mi bo kho is a classic and while delicious, the portion was smaller than expected and was also plated in a plate-type dish, rather than a bowl which I found a bit odd. Overall, a great place for bun bo hue, and as their signature dish, I would recommend ordering this over bun bo nam other than their other dishes.
I'm not gonna the biggest fan of BBH, but majority rules so I found myself here. You can smell the aroma coming from this restaurant from the parking lot. It seems to be a popular spot with usually a wait I'm told. We had a party of 7 for a later lunch on Saturday, but the wait wasn't bad. The dining space is on the smaller side so people seem to eat and go fairly quickly. The food comes out super fast so that helps with the flow as well. I ordered the bun bo nam which has the same broth as BBH but with different meats. It was essentially a beef version including beef brisket, flank, shank, and tendon. The broth was flavorful and the fresh noodles were soft. It was actually pretty good, and the small size was the perfect portion for me. We also ordered rieu cha cua on the side which was odd to have on the menu but surprisingly good as well. They ran out of beef ribs so we ordered the beef bone with tendon (xi quach). Some ordered the banh canh which unfortunately only came in a large size. Mixed reviews on that. Overall we enjoyed our meal and I wouldn't mind coming back here.
Easily my favorite bbh in Houston! There was a short 15 min wait during the lunch run on a weekend but honestly went by pretty quickly. The place was packed! Ordered the bbh bo nam because I don't eat most of the pork based items in the original. The regular is a tad small and could use more noodles;however the fresh herbs and vegetables were so fresh and amazing. I like that the lime slices aren't skimpy. Really fast service and then you can go to the counter and pay. My only nit is the bathrooms are horrendous and could use proper cleaning.
For a place called King Bun Bo, unfortunately the Bun Bo Hue wasn't as phenomenal as expected, so if you're expecting a 10/10 BBH, don't come here. The banh canh was very good though, highly recommend. Even on a week day, this restaurant was busy. It is also a pretty big restaurant, so there isn't a big wait.
Must try if you're in town! Massive bowl of bun bo hue with large options of meat. Love the flavoring of the broth and their udon is great as well. Service is fast and efficient. The Ambiance isn't as crowded as it was before when it first opened.
Tried this spot out on a Saturday morning, and waited around 20 minutes. I got the Banh Canh and the BBH, which is what they specialize in. The broth for the bun bo hue was clear, lemongrassy, and hit the spot. The banh canh broth was also super hearty and tasted like a warm hug. The restaurant is bustling, you come in order and the food comes out pretty quick. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is super nice and clean. Definitely a spot to check out for a solid bun bo hue!
I ate at a few restaurants in Houston and the food was ok (Houston peeps probably gonna hate me). Vua Bun Bo is the best of them. The service was quick, friendly, and accommodating. Heard that they always have a line waiting but it will love quickly. We did wait a little bit. I would recommend this place BBH in Houston.
Another great Vietnamese BBH, clean restaurant inside and when I ordered Togo, they only have 1 Size. Came out to $16 with tax. Is it worth $16? I would say yes but borderline. The soup is amazing, flavorful, porky, very strong aromatic flavors, spicy, and you can taste the fish sauce in the broth. I love the noodles, they are bouncy, thicker than the traditional noodles, and each bite is a more fuller bite. The leaves, cilantro, onions, banana blossom, mint leaves, water spinach, love how the restaurant gives you a lot. The slices of meat are great, the pork bone with the fat is nice, overall great BBH. For $16, I definitely want more than 2 micro pieces of pork blood cubes. That's the best part of BBH, it needs more and 1 more slice of pork loaf or aka cha lua, then it's more value.
Great new(ish) BBH spot in Houston that I love a lot! Just quality bbh that is flavorful and aromatic. It's not overwhelmingly strong (definitely a lighter broth in comparison to other spots). I do wish I could taste the shrimp taste/lemongrass more. The noodles have a great texture, though they don't give lots of it (meat portion is great though). Overall, a small fills me pretty well! Waitlist consists of a paper outside where you write your name down. Generally a 10-30 min wait. Service is very quick once you get sat.
Dare I say the best Bun Bo Hue in Houston right now? I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and there was a short wait. I have heard good things about the restaurant and was finally looking forward to trying their popular Bun Bo Hue since it is one of my favorite Vietnamese noodle soup dishes! As packed as it was, the service was quick and friendly. When we got our Bun Bo Hue, I can unquestionably say it was one of the best Bun Bo Hue in Houston. The broth: flavorful, the meats: plentiful, the veggies: fresh, the customer: satisfied. However some of the noodles were clumped together and were a little overcooked on my visit. I'm also a big fan of lemongrass and wish there was more of it. Regardless, I finished the whole bowl and don't mind coming back even if there is a wait!
This is a great Vietnamese food option in the Houston area. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is amazing. The space is clean and well organized, and there are lots of tables for small and large groups. Expect some wait during rush hours.

Great bun bo! The wait is around 15 minutes (outdoor but luckily under shade). The noodles are perfectly done. You can customize the spice. The meat is good quality although a bit too fatty for my taste. I would have wanted more meat for size large but overall very tasty. I probably will not come back too often though. read more
Whenever my family is craving bun bo hue in Bellaire, this is our go-to spot! Their spicy, flavorful broth is super comforting, and they're generous with the noodles and meat. The restaurant is pretty small and can get cramped, especially during busy dining hours. Expect to wait outside for a table, though it usually doesn't take longer than 15 to 30 minutes, thanks to the quick service and efficient staff. read more
Bun Bo Hue is one of my favorite Vietnamese noodle soups, so I was very excited to try Vua Bun Bo with my parents recently. The restaurant was small but nice and clean. Our server wasn't that friendly, but the food came out pretty fast. I ordered the large Bun Bo Hue with a side of meatballs, and my parents each got the large Bun Bo Nam. They were definitely on the pricier side for Vietnamese noodles. The bowls were pretty big, but it was mostly just broth, so they looked a lot bigger than they actually were. The noodle and meat portions were okay, not that much for the bowl. Upon tasting the broth, the taste was not bad but not good. We thought the broth was a bit lacking and a bit watered down, and the flavors were not very deep. The meats at least were tender. I had really high expectations for Vua Bun Bo after seeing so many good reviews about this place, but we left pretty disappointed. Overall, we were not impressed. Although they do have better Bun Bo Hue than many places around town, it was not really worth the price for what we got. We probably would not come back. read more

I had the Banh Canh Thap Cam, and it was the blandest thing I've ever had in my life. This is the first time I've ever ordered something this bad at a restaurant. I think the only thing that saved me was the satay sauce they had on the table, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to eat it. Also, I don't understand why they don't offer different sizes for their Banh Canhs, but they do for their Bun Bos. When the bowl came out I was shocked of how big it was. The price was also on the higher end for being in Bellaire. Restaurant was quite small so the tables were very cluttered together. read more

Heard some hype online about this spot, so decided to give it a go. Came on a random weekday and the lines were out the door. Every table including the bar were filled with guests. Fortunately the wait wasn't too bad, it was about 5 - 10 minutes. I guess we just missed the rush hour at 1230. Ordered the large with everything in it. All the meats were well cooked and prep. They were super tender and properly cut. They used choice meats! Overall the broth isn't as rich and thick as other places. They seem to have a cleaner lighter broth to it. For a large it's slightly less than the competition, but just enough to get full off of. Their sate is pretty spicy and gives it a sweet tasting broth read more

New favorite spot in town for Bun Bo Hue. Broth is flavorful, not too much msg, and generous portion of protein, including pork hock, pork blood, cha, and beef slices. We got a side order of beef ribs and crab balls. Both were a steal - good price, tender, and full of meat. We left very satisfied and will return in the near future. read more

The Bún Bò Huế came out steaming hot, with a rich, aromatic broth that had the perfect balance of spicy, savory, and slightly sour notes. I would have liked to have a bit more noodles in the bowl without the extra charges. The restaurant itself had a clean, cozy atmosphere, and the service was friendly. read more

Great tasting bun Bo in Bellaire. One of the newer bun Bo restaurants which made it more appealing. Service is pretty quick. The smaller size bowls was very filling for me, no need to get the large in my opinion. Definitely my go to place if I'm ever craving this type of dish again. read more

The soup was good and balanced in my opinion; however, it could be a little bit salty for Vietnamese taste. The quality of meat was good. The restaurant was very noisy with music and customers talking. One big thing I did not like was the staff. They didn't take care of the customers at all. They only took order and brought out food. My friend wanted to ask for more water, but we didn't get any refill at all. read more
