There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. She always makes sure my friends and I have everything before we leave and one thing that's very notable is the fact that she doesn't treat anyone differently. She gives that same courtesy to every customer and that's rare in food service. Jackson is really chill and helpful, he's very professional but also has a side to him that makes him feel like a homeboy. He's always been kind and respectful to everyone, and always has patience with everyone. Lastly, I remember meeting G since the establishment opened, from day one he's been nothing but nice and kind and honestly had so much patience with me when I didn't know what I wanted. I wanted to get there after any lunch rush. You walk in and order at the counter. The friendly young lady took my order, and answered my questions. I ordered the Drip #3 Combo, Mild, $14.99+ Drink $2.99, +tax= $19.91 The food is cooked to order, so I had to wait 5-10 mins. They call your number, and you go up and grab your tray. So no table service. That means you have to bus your tray when you're done. You get pretty good portion size. The Drip #3 Combo had two large tenders on toast, crinkle fries, slaw, secret sauce and pickles. The tenders were juicy and moist. Chikin Drip says they only serve top quality chicken. I could easily cut the tenders with a plastic knife. They were tasty with the dipping sauce. The crinkle fries were hot and fresh. Crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. However, the slaw was not made properly. It was just a scoop of shredded veggies with no dressing at all. Overall, the food was okay. It would of been nice to have an actual salad. The dining room has a very unique and creative look. I'm guessing that's where the word "drip" comes into play. Cool and stylish in form and fashion. Hip hop music plays. The breading was on the thicker side, but the chicken underneath was genuinely juicy. When I pulled one apart, the juices actually ran onto the toast underneath. They were also extremely hot right out of the fryer, so give them a couple of minutes before biting in. The wings themselves were not spicy. They had a fairly straightforward savory seasoning and were flavorful enough to eat without sauce, which is important because this was not a case of sauce rescuing dry or bland chicken. The portions are serious, the chicken is juicy, and the breading has a great crunch. What really sets them apart for me is the spice. I've had levels 3, 4, and 5, and they're not simply the same seasoning with progressively more heat. Each level actually has a different pepper profile and flavor. Level 3 brings cayenne and Thai chili, level 4 moves into Thai chili and habanero, and level 5 adds habanero and ghost pepper. You can taste the difference, not just feel more burn. The seasoned fries are great too and they definitely don't skimp on the portions.
