VKH Movers provided an impeccable moving service that went above and beyond my expectations. Their professionalism, punctuality, and sheer commitment to a job well done put them a notch above other moving companies. From the onset, their communication was top-notch. They were extremely responsive and maintained a clear line of communication, ensuring that all my queries and concerns were addressed promptly and in detail. Their team is not just a bunch of movers; they are superb communicators, ensuring you're not just in the loop but part of the process. What impressed me most was their timely arrival on moving day, an essential factor that demonstrated their dedication and respect for their clients' time. This punctuality was consistent throughout the process, a clear testament to their well-organized operations. Their level of preparation and readiness was simply astonishing. They had all the necessary packing supplies ready, and they approached the task with absolute efficiency. It wasn't just about moving things from Point A to Point B. The team took great care in wrapping and packing my belongings to ensure they were secure and safe. What truly sets VKH Movers apart is their comprehensive service. Not only did they help with packing, but they also assisted with the unpacking process at my new place. This service was a tremendous help, providing a level of convenience that made the entire moving experience seamless. In terms of cost, the rate was very reasonable given the outstanding service provided. The transparent pricing, without hidden fees, was truly appreciated, leaving me with no surprises at the end of the move. I wholeheartedly recommend VKH Movers to anyone in need of a hassle-free and efficient moving service. Their team's expertise and professionalism made my apartment move quick, secure, and smooth, ultimately turning what could have been a stressful day into an enjoyable experience. I can't emphasize enough how satisfied I am with their services. So if you're planning a move soon, VKH Movers should be your first call! read more

We just finished a project moving my mother-in-law from suburban VA to a new, smaller home in an outlying town about 1 1/2 hours away. I live in TN and was able to coordinate details of the move with Vlad remotely. He was very responsive and flexible. His quote was very competitive and due to a personal recommendation and excellent online reviews, we went with VKH. It was a great decision. Vlad quoted the move as using 2 trucks and 6 movers; sort and pack day 1, load, move and unload day 2. It turns out my m-i-l was IN NO WAY ready for the move, but they plowed ahead anyway. The VKH guys showed up on day one at the proscribed time and began their packing. They ran out of boxes on day one (not their fault - too much stuff) and had to continue packing on day 2. Long story short, they spent 9 hours on the first day and 14+ hours on the second day moving all her stuff - including a baby grand piano - to the new house. They wrapped things carefully, disassembled and reassembled various furniture, protected TVs, etc. There were no serious casualties as far as we could tell. Vlad was great with communication through it all and I cannot stress enough how great the moving team was. Every guy was good-natured, funny and accommodating. They were helpful and acceded to any request that we had with a smile. Even though they worked until almost midnight on the second day, they were delightful to be around. I would recommend Vlad and his crew to anyone looking for a moving team. The price was fair and the service was excellent. My thanks goes out to them for a job well done. Those guys in the crew (shout out to Igor, Orrest, Andrei, Nicolai and Nick) were definitely the best part of a hard week. read more

I would use them again! (Hopefully I won't have to, moving is such a pain.) Chris and his colleague Petrov were super professional and such troopers! They helped me move from an English basement apartment to a 3rd floor unit, in a building without elevators*. Yes, it was excruciating work for them, but they powered through. (I offered them coconut water along the way.) They even expertly maneuvered my couch through a tight squeeze at the English basement unit without damaging the couch or the light fixtures. Before loading and unloading at each location, Chris will quickly walk through the unit to the get the lay of the land and assess any potential obstacles. *Note: Movers in the DMV area typically include the first two flight of stairs as part of the base hourly rate. Any additional flight of stairs costs an extra $10-20. If you are moving to a building without an elevator, make sure you ask about any additional costs for stairs. Those new to using moving services in the DMV area: Most movers typically charge a minimum fee of 2 hours of 2 men's time + transportation costs. In mathematical terms: 2 men at $80 each per hour, assume transportation costs $40; minimum fee = $320 (2 hours of each men's time) + $40 (transportation costs) = $360. VKH Movers charges a minimum of 3 hours but transportation costs is included in this price and not calculated separately. Additionally, most moves need around 2.5-3 hours. In my case, I needed 4 given the added difficulties of each unit, so this is well worth the price! read more

VKH Movers are AWESOME!!! When moving, I HIGHLY recommend hiring movers. VKH reduced SOOOO much stress. I will hire them again and recommend them to all my friends. With their help, I (female) and my two (female) friends were able to move out of my 1BR apartment to my new place in UNDER FOUR HOURS!!! First, VKH was VERY responsive and flexible with my schedule. I'm a busy professional and a life-long procrastinator. I was scheduled to move out of my apartment on 10/19, and I posted my move project on Thumbtack on 10/16. VKH quickly responded to my request. They first gave me a time window for 2-3PM, but after I asked for an earlier slot, they were able to do the job at noon. They even arrived early!!! Next, the two-person move team was so professional and efficient. They took great care to wrap my furniture to prevent damage and handled all my belongings with care. Next, the move team was very adaptable. When we arrived at my new place, we encountered a snag with reserving the freight elevator. They quickly adapted the load out plan and were able to empty the truck in less than 75 minutes. Finally, VKH was a very good financial decision. Before finding VKH, other moving companies quoted me over $1,000. For VKH, I paid about $500 for a truck and 4 hours of work. And I heavily tipped my two movers. Worth.Every.Penny. They saved my back, my friendships, and my sanity. I've never been so happy to support a small business. VKH FTW! read more

I had 3 movers come help move from a 1BR apt to a 3-level townhouse about 30 minutes away. They showed up super early due to a miscommunication, but thankfully we were ready to hit the ground running. I think they were sitting in the loading dock for maybe 15 minutes before I got them to my apartment, but they did not charge for that, which I appreciated. They worked quickly and efficiently, stationing one person to wrap in the apt and shuttle pieces to the elevator, and the other two would load the elevator and shuttle pieces to the truck. I want to say everything was wrapped and loaded within 2 hours, so they definitely knew what works and executed well. For the unloading, we expected a few knicks and bumps going up the winding staircase, but to our surprise they were extremely careful and we barely had any issues to deal with later. I think I did minor putty fills on like 4 divots and painted over. But I do want to stress that our staircase had really tight turns, hence why we were expecting a ton more. Unloading was even faster and they were happy to rearrange any pieces that we wanted shifted around. I was running around cutting off all the plastic wrapping to save time, but I'm sure they would have also helped with that. Once the bill came, I was extremely happy with the price and rewarded the 3 gentlemen for their hard work and efficiency. It was a great experience for us! read more

I should have posted this review a long time ago...it's just been so busy after our big move. I cannot say enough great things about Vlad and his team that moved us 7 states away from MD. We have moved dozen of times in our married life and this was far and away the best and easiest move ever. Vlad was more than fair with pricing and lived up to every promise he made. His team of Serge, Dimitri and Nick was just fantastic...nothing was broken or damaged and they were efficient, kind and did all that they could to help get us settled in our new home. This was a two day move and I was a little worried about our stuff being on a truck overnight but it all went seamlessly and without so much as a nick on anything. Even though they are a smaller moving company do not hesitate to hire Vlad and his team - they are trustworthy and did an amazing job for us. Thanks so much to Vlad, Serge, Dimitri and Nick - we love you guys!! Dan and Carole, from MD to Rhode Island! read more

I highly recommend these movers. I was pretty nervous to go with a relatively new company, but these guys met and exceeded expectations. I hadn't booked movers until about a week prior to moving, and VKH had availability and great rates. Note that they are not highly automated like some other companies, so don't expect an official invoice or a standard confirmation for service, just a simple email confirmation. I was a little wary of this, but they are true to their word. On moving day, the movers themselves were very communicative with me when running slightly behind on their prior project, so I was able to plan accordingly. When they did arrive, they provided great and fast service. I had two flights of stairs on both ends of my move, it was the last job of the day, and they just powered through! Also can't say enough about the movers themselves who were really nice and friendly guys. I would definitely hire them again, and you should too! read more

Had such a great experience with VKH movers today! The whole process of getting a quote and confirmation was super smooth. From the moment the movers arrived (they arrived early and made sure to be ready prior to the start time) to setting up everything in the new location, it was a stress-free day. Super efficient - had furniture, but also a ton of stuff in trash bags and boxes, but they didn't mind one bit. They got the entire bedroom moved out within an hour. This would have taken me all day! They also took care of the furniture (made sure to wrap furniture that could be broken on corners) and walls without me having to say anything! Also, helped me to take apart my bed as well. When paying for a service and letting us handle your items, this is the kind of care you want! Thanks Max and Adalid!!! Moving is stressful, but they made it as smooth as possible! Would definitely recommend VKH and use them again for future moves! read more

Thank you VKH Movers and all who recommended them here on Yelp. These guys are terrific and sincerely deserve five stars! Vlady, Mustafa, and Petro are very professional, friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy. They responded very quickly to my email and questions about hiring them and we had great communication and coordination in scheduling and confirming their time of arrival and throughout the move. They worked very fast and as a team, and they were very gracious and helpful when I was stressed out and still racing to get my stuff together. These guys know what they are doing and literally took the bulk of the load (and stress) off of my shoulders. I am very grateful and pleased with how smoothly this experience went and I would not hesitate to hire them again in the future. I would highly recommend VKH to everyone looking for a truly great moving company. Thank you again for everything! Peace. read more

I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate this company. After I left a massage on the VKH Movers website, Vlady responded almost immediately. I had a strange move, just a small number of items going to my daughter's new house in VA beach. I also these prices of furniture, 3 dressers, a sofa, a night table, and a desk, to go within a day or two. Now who would ever want to carry such a little load such as long distance at such short notice? Well, VKH Movers would. Vlady and two young men Petro and Mustafa arrived promptly. They were polite, positive, and energetic. They knew how to move furniture carefully without hurting it or my house. They wasted no time. They reached their destination quickly and unloaded the furniture efficiently. The price was quite reasonable, Im delighted to say. I will use this company anytime we need a move. Great, professional service! read more

My experience with VKH movers was not as pleasant this time as it was in 2018. The move was the total opposite and I am very disappointed that I didn't receive the same personnel who handled my first move. The moving crew damaged my furniture and walls in my brand new home. A six-hour job took them a total of eight hours and I could tell when they started to slow down as to milk the clock. I spoke to the owner about my damage and was assured I would be contacted the day after the holiday for a claim. Needless to say, I have not heard from the owner. After my move in 2018, I recommended VKH to everyone that I knew that needed moving services and provided high recommendations. I guess the first time was the charm, and it is obvious that the customer service aspect of this company has changed. I will not recommend this company for your move. read more

Had to move recently. I hate moving. But I will probably have to move at least two more times in my life (if I can help it). VKH Movers made it easier! They were very responsive when booking, they were on time (early, in fact), and they were thorough. No matter how much I plan when moving, it's never enough, so we had plenty left over to come back for. But the things that were ready to move, they took care of easily! Bat and Juan worked very well together, and they just did the thing. They even helped us corral our poor cats! (Poor planning on my part.) We moved from a 1 bedroom apartment that we had moved into from a 2 bedroom town house, so we had too much stuff crammed. (The new place has more square footage.) They worked around it easily. I will definitely use them again if I have another move. read more

I just used these guys again for a much larger move (DC to Brooklyn) and I am even more impressed than before. They arrived 30 minutes early to start packing which I appreciated, and packed/dismantled my entire 1br apartment (including a massive sectional and queen bed) in under two hours. They beat me to Brooklyn and had everything unpacked, reassembled, and ready to go by the time I got there. All my furniture was perfectly in tact, no knicks, scratches, or broken items. Service was incredible and the guys had a smile on their face the entire time despite having to move me out of AND into three bedroom walkup apartments. They also beat almost every other competitor's price. The cost was inclusive of all tolls and gas, and there were no hidden fees. Cant recommend these guys enough! Thanks for everything! read more

Vlad was great! He contacted me right away and really earned my business showing he wanted to help me move by letting me know he was saving the date for me when I was undecided. I was still nervous if I made the right decision until the crew came! Nick, Sasha, and Igore were great! We moved from a 4th floor appratment with no elevator to a three story town house. These guys were so professional. They took more than one box down at a time and were so quite when doing so. If you did not see them I don't think anyone would have known we were moving out. They wrapped all our furtniture to ensure that nothing was damaged. And nothing was!! I would recommend VKH movers and this crew any day! Thanks Vlad, Nick, Sash, And Igore for making this move stress free for me and my family!! read more

VKH Movers were absolutely wonderful. They were clear on pricing (far below other quotes I received) and the end price was consistent with the quote we received. No hidden "surprises." Petro, Dimitri, and Orest were our movers and they worked tirelessly to move us out of one home and into another on the hottest day of the year with very few breaks (they took off the 30 mins. they had lunch, too!). They even repaired our dining room table which had detached from the base years ago! Each piece of furniture and glass table top was carefully wrapped in blankets and moved safely. Nothing was broken and the move was so smooth that our piano still seems to be in tune. We highly recommend VKH Movers. They are the best! read more

I have moved around the DMV a lot over the past few years and it's been quite a hassle to find reliable professional movers. However, my last moving experience with VKH Movers was without a doubt the smoothest. Michael and Pedro helped me move my 2 bedroom apartment. They were on time and extremely professional. Despite the fact that I had a few very heavy (including a big treadmill) and some extremely delicate items (a wooden bookshelf with glass walls), they managed to do the job in 1 hour less than what was estimated. The quote I got was the lowest among all others from yelp and Thumbtack. Overall, I highly recommend them for your move. read more

I was supposed to move on a Sunday. I had a booking for over 2 weeks prior with a different company. On Saturday night I received a phone call saying that the other company canceled my appointment to due technical issues. I had to find moving company overnight. I was lucky that I found VKH Movers. I sent them a request and within 20 minutes I received a call, and after another 15 I had everything booked. The crew was on time and did an amazing job. The packed everything carefully and were very professional. 5+ stars for this hardworking crew that proved to be not only efficient but also reasonable on their price. read more

WOW! What would I do without Vlad and Petro?? They handled all of my items (much of which is fragile) with so much care and completed a FULL move in under 5 hours for a large (and very full) one bedroom apartment. They arrived 5 minutes early and immediately got right to work. They listened to and honored all of my requests, and operated with integrity and utter professionalism. The best part was this was all done in a timely manner and for a very reasonable price. Moving can be SO stressful, but these guys took a major load off of my shoulders. You can trust VKH to get the job done and make it look easy. read more
