Broke the glass on our barrister's bookcase
    Erin K.

We hired Knoble Moving to move our belongings from Washington DC to Brooklyn NY in April 2017. However, the company did not deliver all our property to our new apartment. Specifically, the entire contents of a storage unit in our daughter's room were never delivered to us. The company did not respond to questions about the whereabouts of our property for over a month. Finally, in May, we were told that it was "lost". When asked about compensation for the items that were lost or stolen, the company stopped communicating with us entirely. For the past 4 months, they have not responded to calls, emails, or certified letters that have been sent from us and our insurance company. This does not even begin to touch on all the items that were damaged or destroyed during the move. This is a dishonest company. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the FMCSA, but I am also hoping that by writing this I can deter anyone else that is thinking about hiring Knoble Movers from doing so and making the same mistake I did.

Shameful. They broke our tv (completely cracked the screen), broke all of our lamp heads, caused over $900 damage to our wooden tables, and literally put garbage in the boxes they packed. Initially Knoble said they would pay back for the damages, but then they refused to return our phone calls and we had to argue for months on the credit card dispute. Be wise and don't go with Knoble Movers.

Their price was competitive with the competition and what we thought was very fair for a whole house move. We are super glad we went with Prince because the crew was unbelievable. Carlos ran the crew and was so professional and courteous. All floors/stairs were covered. Marvin, Omar and Jeff were all hard-working and got everything done quickly like clockwork. All furniture was covered and protected. If we asked for anything to be placed in a different place or requested changes there was only one answer: No problem - with a smile! I honestly didn't think customer service like that existed anymore. I consider myself a tough reviewer, I can't believe myself how glowing this review is but they were that good.

Our floors on the main level of our home were being refinished and all of our furniture needed to be moved to the second floor. Daniel, Olvin and Gio were extremely efficient and professional. When they returned to move the furniture back down they worked with me ensuring everything was returned to the right place. Also helped me get padding on the bottom of the furniture legs to protect the floor. Highly recommend!

Patrick and his crew, Renaldo, Nitua, Gerand and Kevin, exceeded the already high expectations I had based upon the reviews. I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. The price was also incredibly fair, worth every penny for their first-rate and professional work and incredibly pleasant dispositions, just a really great group of guys!

I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

The crew showed up on time, wrapped every piece of furniture carefully, and worked nonstop without ever seeming rushed or careless. Nothing was damaged, nothing was lost, and they even helped reposition a couple of heavy pieces in our new place without complaint. What stood out most was how friendly and communicative the team was throughout the process, answered questions, and made a genuinely stressful day feel manageable. Pricing was fair and matched the estimate with no surprise fees. If you're looking for a moving company that's professional, careful, and just easy to work with, I'd highly recommend DC Moving Inc. Thank you to Dan, Rafael and Ostap for making our move so smooth!

DC Moving Inc completed my cross‑country move from Arlington, VA to Seattle, WA in just 4 days!!!…read more 4 days!I! I first requested a quote in late December before I even had a new apartment lined up. Their online tool made it easy to get an initial estimate without an in‑home visit, and Dasha (and sometimes Lilith) answered all my questions over the following weeks. A month later, when I was ready for an in‑person assessment, they honored my original quote even though my inventory had changed (many more smaller boxes, one less big piece of furniture). They visited on a Thursday and scheduled pickup for the next Tuesday. A team of three loaded everything in under two hours (right after Winter Storm Fern). I arrived in Seattle on Saturday, and the driver called 15 minutes after I had picked up my keys from the leasing office (I am not kidding). Despite my building having no loading dock, he found a workable spot, unloaded everything, and rebuilt my furniture solo in about 4.5 hours total. The original delivery window was up to two weeks, so four days was beyond anything I expected. I'm incredibly impressed and highly recommend DC Moving Inc for long‑distance moves.

It was pretty pleasant overall. He apologized for all the inconvenience and gave some of the reasoning as to why the delay had happened, all of which was fair. He addressed more of my concerns in my original review. From what I understood, the carriers are third-party, so they can't really control delays. He understood my frustration about the refund being only about $24 and asked how much would I think is fair. I said $200. He said that's completely fair and ended up zelling me the money right after the phone call. Obviously the move itself was a bit frustrating, but this I think more than made up for it and it was super validating feeling like he understood where I was coming from. We were told that there may be people to help in the next state or there may not be, it could just be Oscar unloading the 26' truck himself. Seems like they pulled two guys off the street to help unload. They were clearly not as experienced as the first guys were, nor arrived dressed like they were ready to unload a truck. The one said he twisted his ankle but also had unlaced loose tennis shoes on... They go off hoping they can find someone in the next state to unload the truck with them. When reserving with Yuriy he said there would be three guys loading, traveling and unloading. That's not the case. But it's what he sold the cost of it all on, he said they were barely making money from the move by the time the three guys traveled and stayed for possibly up to two nights- three total day move. I had another quote at $4500 but Yuiry said there would be no way because of the above mentioned reason. Not the case at all. The move took two days, one night stay. Yuriy was meh, he's a sales guy so that's expected. The move was $6K, I hope they compensated Oscar fairly for all the work he did. I'm only doing this review because Oscar was really great to work with. The company's process seemed sketchy.
