Basically, they treated my things with the care that I would had I moved them myself. These guys were just plain ole awesome and a pleasure to work with. If I could give this mover zero stars, I would. Avoid Knoble Moving at all costs. Kelvin terribly failed in every way, irresponsible and unreliable. Use other moving company, if you don't want to get ripped off. I trusted all the good reviews, and turned out that it's the worst decision I've ever made. The move was scheduled to begin at 12 PM. Kelvin, however, showed up at 2.30 PM despite knowing that an elevator at my new place would be closed at 3 PM. I kept calling him since 1 PM, but he never picked up. Without surprise, they didn't make it to the new place before the elevator was closed. I could not move my furnishers back to my old apartment because a new tenant was also moving in that day. A building manager at my new place's very strict and insisted that the fee of $500 would be applied if I moved after 3 PM. Kevin refused to take any responsibility for his action. After half an hour or so of arguing, Kevin finally let me leave my furnitures in his truck and I had to sleep on the floor at the new apartment that night. I felt so desperate and awful because the elevator was booked throughout the week, while Kevin would let me store my furniture in his truck only for a night. After I kept begging the building manager for help, she finally told me that probably the person who reserved the elevator at 9 AM tomorrow might be running a bit late and I might be able to move in during 9- 9.30 AM. Kelvin promised that he would be responsible for the next day move and would be right on time. I kept telling him that it was very important to be on time. If he's late again, I would have to wait until next week to be able to move in. Turned out that he was an HOUR LATE. Again, I kept calling, but that did not help anything. I can't believe how unprofessional and irresponsible this company is! After the move, I found that my mattress and many other stuffs are damaged. Kelvin again promised to contact the insurance company to recompense for damages. He never did. In fact, I called him so many times to follow up on the issue. He obviously avoids my call. I need to use different numbers to be able to reach him and all he did is giving me a promise that he never fulfill. This's more than a month, but nothing ever happens. NEVER NEVER use this company. Don't be fool by $50 off, it does not worth it. Terrible is all. read more

Pros: The movers were pretty efficient with getting my items loaded and unloaded from the truck. They were hard working and polite. Cons: Timing - My move was originally scheduled for 9 a.m. but Kevin called and asked if they could bump it up to 8 a.m. which I was fine with but the movers actually showed by around 7:10 a.m. without any warning. Billing - Kevin wanted to settle my bill as they were finishing loading the truck. I handed over my debit card and was charged for 3 hours ($285). I thought this seemed a little premature but figured he knew what he was doing. He later called saying he didn't realize there were stairs at my new place and I would be charge $35 per flight and for an extra half hour of labor. I wasn't thrilled since I indicated on the original quote form that there were stairs and he really should have just waited until the move was complete to give me a final bill. I gave him my debit credit card info again and figured all was settled. Then I get a message from him later Friday afternoon saying he must have mixed up my debit card numbers. It was a holiday weekend and was in the middle of unpacking and dealing with out of town guests so I decided I would call back on Tuesday. He then called me twice on the 4th of July! Who calls on a national holiday? I then proceeded to give him my card for a THIRD time. The whole experience just left me with an unfavorable opinion of Knoble Movers. I've moved six times in the last three years for my job and I've never experienced such issues. I'll definitely be looking for a new company next time around. read more

I had high hopes for Knoble Moving - was recommended to them, they were responsive and helpful prior to the move and the price was right. But on the day of the move, everything that could go bad did. The guys arrived late, 3 were sent instead of the 4 that were promised, the guys didn't protect our floors or walls at the old or new house - thus banging up the walls and scratching the hardwood floors, and almost every piece of furniture was scratched/dented/damaged. When I tried to reach out to the company for resolution they practically ignored my every phone call and email. This was the worse moving experience I ever had. Everything that could go wrong did. Save yourself a headache and go with a more professional and established company. read more

Knoble Movers did a great job moving us from Alexandria to Arlington this past week. Mike and Emmanuel arrived on time, were careful with our things, worked quickly all day, and even told me to relax when I was obviously stressing out over everything, which was really nice. This is the second time we've used Knoble-- they moved us from DC to Alexandria 2 years ago, and did a great job then too. They were a bit late at first but once they got there Mike was a huge help and got the job done quickly for a better price than anyone else would offer. Would definitely suggest using them. I needed to do a "small move" from Hyattsville MD to Watertown, MA. I looked around quite a bit, and found a place that had OK reviews, but still seemed a little hit or miss (people agreed that it's just a hard job). They were going to charge me about 2200 bucks, and it was going to take 5 days. Both the cost and the time were reasonable (I've done these long distance moves before). Then I found Knoble. They were less than the other place, but not the cheapest (when moving, the cheapest almost always screws you somehow by going WAY over the estimate, or just doing an REALLY bad job). Plus, they said they'd pick up Friday and drop off the next day. I sent them detailed information, and they gave me the estimate. First, the guys showed up a few minutes early, and they had everything loaded in an hour. They were incredibly friendly, and chatty and we got along great. But, unlike other movers I've had, they didn't stop to talk. They were always moving and doing something. The exact same thing happened at the other end. They made the entire process as fun and pleasant as possible (I even recommended a couple clubs they should go to since they were spending the night in Boston). And the quote was exactly what I was charged. I've moved a lot, and this was easily the best experience I ever had doing it. read more

Knoble made my move way less stressful! They were on time, quickly disassembled my bed frame and packed the truck. Sidney and Will worked very well together to get our belongings down the elevator and into the truck, and unloaded into our new place! Moving a 1 bedroom apt worth of furniture and stuff from DC out to Vienna Virginia took just about 3 hours. And knoble is certainly much more affordable than many others out there- trust me I got some crazy high quotes from a bunch of other companies!! The move went smoothly, there were two men who moved me from my studio apartment and the whole event took about two hours. Two hours after that I noticed that my white board was missing. It was huge! I figured, we must have left it on the truck. No problem, let me call. I called, no one answered. I left a message letting them know I had left a white board in the moving truck. I never heard back. We used knoble moving twice. First time they were a bit late because it was the time when rush hour started, and DC... is crazy with traffic. But they called and let us know. At first we were pretty pissed about them showing up late, but they made up for it. They went super quick, was professional and we went over the 3 hours, but they only charged for the 3 hours because they were late. We really appreciated that, and gave them a good tip. This was the easiest move I have ever had! My boyfriend and I were moving in together and needed both apartments packed up and moved into one. Knoble Moving did it effortlessly. Knoble Moving moved our belongings from a 2BR loft about 20 miles across NoVA to a 3 level townhome. They were really nice, professional guys and definitely very careful with our things, taking the time to wrap each piece of furniture in blankets and carefully pack the truch. Because of that, they were a little bit on the slow side (6 hours including 30 mins of travel -- which is unfortunate since you pay by the hour) so we suspected they might be kind of new at this, but they were very nice and trustworthy. They accidentally put a big scratch in our dining table, and as part of their included insurance coverage, they had it sent to a furniture maker/repair shop to be refinished and it came back not only good as new but actually even nicer than it started, although it took a little while to get done. They did all of that free of charge, including redelivering it to our house when the repair was done. Overall, I think they are good people and aiming for good customer service, and will probably get faster at the moving over time! read more

We used Knoble Moving for our weekday 2 bedroom apartment to house move. Will and Sydney were great. They were very professional, took excellent care with our belongings, and worked quickly and efficiently. Will and Sydney alone definitely deserve 5 stars! The only downside was that we had reserved and confirmed for a 3-man crew, but only 2 guys showed up. They only charged us for the 2 man rate and again, the two guys did an excellent job, but I do think the work would have gone a little faster with 3 guys which would have saved us money. These guys are AMAZING! They did our long distance move from DC to Seattle. They were a half hour early to pack up my place, gave us a set date a week later for when we could expect our stuff, and then showed up a half hour early exactly on the day they said to unpack our stuff. They gave us a binding quote $1500 less than other quotes we got and were realistic in their assessment of our weight and box amount (contrary to the bigger, highly rated places which I believe substantially overestimate your weight and box needs when they give you a binding quote and then try to scare you if you say you think you will need less boxes.) On top of everything, they were nice and professional and none of our stuff was broken or damaged. I seriously never thought I would want to write a good review about long distance movers until these guys proved not all long distance movers are terrible. read more

These guys were great! They were so quick! With only 2 guys, it took just 2 hours to completely move out of my (1-bedroom) apartment, drive to storage across town, and unload into the unit. I used them again to move into my new apartment, and they were again, super quick (3 guys, 3 hours including 1 hour travel). They were really nice and made me feel comfortable and confident. Syndney, Emmanuel, and Roger just walked out the door of my new home and I couldn't be more satisfied. All three were personable. Even when my idiot neighbors complained about a dolly in the hall outside OUR apartment door, they were polite and smiled and promptly moved it and said, "I just kill them with kindness". I just wanted to kill them! They had great attitudes. They were fast and accomidating and the price was very reasonable. They were at my building moving someone else two weeks before my move. Booked a move from DC to NC less than two weeks ahead of time and was still able to schedule it for a day and time that worked for me. Showed up on time, loaded my things in about 45 minutes, even with a narrow door and stairway. Parked the truck exactly where I had requested (in the alley, rather than on the street). Took a couple hours longer to get to NC than I had planned but that's okay. When they arrived, they unloaded everything into my storage unit in about 30 minutes, made sure I was happy with where they placed everything, I paid, we shook hands, and that was that. Cost of the move was exactly what they quoted, which was significantly less than all of the other ten companies I contacted. read more

I used Knoble Movers last week to move from a rowhouse in DC to a one bedroom apartment in Philadelphia. The move really couldn't have gone any more smoothly than it did. They showed up right on time and took a little over an hour to load the truck. We arranged a time later that afternoon for them to drop off my belongings at my new place in Philly. This gave me enough time to clean up my DC house and pick up my keys from the rental office once I got to Philly. Throughout the move the whole crew worked hard and were incredibly friendly. None of my stuff was broken and they even helped me to assemble a table that I had purchased unassembled right before the move. The bill did not deviate from the estimate that Kevin had originally given me. I will note that I had ample parking and very few stairs at both places and I wasn't under any specific time constraints, so I can't comment on their ability to deal with these issues. Also, make sure you confirm a week or so ahead of time. There was a small amount of confusion regarding what day/time I wanted to move, but it all worked out just fine. I'd definitely use Knoble Movers again and will be recommending them to all of my friends! read more

When our youngest child decided to go to grad school in New York, my husband and I decided to help out by paying for the move and not with our backs. I contacted 3 movers highly recommended on Yelp, and received prompt and helpful replies from all of them. Although the other two had more reviews than Knoble moving, I went with Kevin because he had done more moves out of DC than the other two and his price was better. From the beginning, Kevin answered every question I had promptly...and I had lots! II made these arrangements two months in advance, but I made them without full knowledge of the apartment my daughter was renting sight unseen. We had various conversations with Kevin assuring me that the price wouldn't change with each new piece of information I discoverd. (The price could have changed....there is a $35 charge for each flight of stairs more than 10 steps....but I'd be charging that too if I was carrying furniture up and down stairs!) The plan was to pick up furniture at my daughter's studio on one day and move it into an apartment in Brooklyn the next day. Kevin called my daughter the day before the move and asked if the time could be changed from 9 to around 11. Because we were very flexible with the pick up time, that was fine. I got the idea that if you wanted a very specific time, Kevin would bend over backwards to honor that. Kevin sent 3 men who worked in the blazing heat and who made quick work of the apartment. I was already in New York, but my daughter texted me things like, "These guys are really nice" and "They are very efficient!!" They moved her entire studio from the third floor with a tiny elevator to the truck in slightly under an hour and a half . The next morning, at 7:15 a.m., I got a call from Kevin that he was right outside the apartment building. He knew enough from previous moves to come into Brooklyn early in order to grab parking spaces before the time that 'no parking' went into effect, and the end of the truck was sitting right at the front door. Again, in an apartment building with a tiny and SLOW elevator, Kevin and one other person moved my daughter into her apartment in under an hour and a half. From the time I met them at the door to the time they left, they were both moving. There was no standing around for breaks - these guys are professionals about moving and they worked hard. I kept trying to pick up a few lighter things and take them upstairs, and Kevin kept taking them gently out of my hands and saying to let them do the work. After using U-Haul and our backs for most of our own moves as well as our chidlrens' moves, we've found the perfect solution. I would use Knoble Moving anytime. Our entire experience with Kevin and Knoble Moving was stress free and positive. read more

Moved with Knoble this weekend. They sent three guys and it took 3.5 hours to move all the big furniture from a 2 bedroom apartment (full bed, 2 dressers, large wardrobes, bookshelves, a full living room, dining room set plus some other random things). We did NOT have them moving kitchen items or lots of boxes. The guys were very polite. They made sure they were taking all the right items from old our apartment and placing them into the right rooms in our new place. They bring some padding/wrap with them, but make to really wrap items that you want to protect well. It ended up being very affordable even after a generous tip. Payment was also easy because they accept cards. Really easy to work with and would definitely recommend to people in the future! read more

I recently used these movers for my move from a high rise apartment complex to a house in Washington, DC. They arrived 30minutes late which isn't terrible but is unprofessional, considering the elevator was reserved for a certain period. WHEN they brought in furniture into my newly renovated home they completely damaged the paint to my front door and made several large scuff and dents in the walls leading up the stairs. They mentioned at the end that there were a few small scuffs which I trusted but should have verified before they left and paid them in full. When they left I noticed the significant damage and now 2 weeks later have called the company several times, left voicemails, sent several emails and no one has gotten back to me. They basically ghosted me. I paid hundreds of dollars for the move and now have to pay hundreds to get my door and walls repaired. Do yourself a favor and use a bigger company for your move. I would not recommend these guys to anyone. What a terrible experience. read more
