I just love this place. Whether you come on a weekday or weekend, the employees are always willing to help. Always ask for Michael, he always goes above and beyond to help out the customers. I recently came in for an oil change, and since I was in a hurry, Michael went from his desk, put on his mechanic gloves, and gave me the oil change right then and there! I thoroughly enjoyed the service Michael and VJ's auto service gave me. Although their prices may not be the cheapest, they still have great warranty offers and always ensure satisfaction and quality service. read more

Hey, when you own a vintage 2005 Hyundai, you have to make sure your mechanic knows his way around a socket wrench . VJ's is close by and I trust them with my baby. Truthfully, I beat the hell out of my car with a stinking commute into the San Fernando Valley every stinking day. Yes, I used the word "stinking" twice. That's 'cause it stinks. Anyway, VJ's does good work at a fair price. Brakes, tune-up, oil change, whatever you need. I'd recommend them to all my friends out there and you tell 'em you heard it here first on roller derby... (If you know where that line is from...you're old.) read more

I was there for pre-sell full vehicle inspection. Staffs was super friendly and kept a great conversation during waiting. The service advisor Michael was very helpful and knowledgeable. Most Clean and professional shop out of all the shop I went to. Highly recommended. read more

The first time I went to VJ's, I had a few relatively minor things done to my car, so when I was all paid up and about to drive off, I didn't expect to be treated to a new brake light bulb, which someone noticed was faulty as I was backing out. I mean, sure, if I was a big spender or had been a regular, or perhaps God's gift to mankind, I might have thought that was normal. I was impressed! So essentially they had me at, "Hold on, your brake light's out. Let me pop in a new one." I've since had regularly scheduled services and the odd tweaked door and window issue, all done perfectly and in a timely manner. Each subsequent visit was just more of the same great, attentive service. They seem to always go the extra mile for their customers - sometimes literally, as many of us need rides home and back while they're working on the car. Extra touches: ** The nearby waiting room equipped with internet access and a Keurig coffee maker! ** Courtesy shuttle while your vehicle's being serviced. ** Fit my car's work into their day on zero notice when my schedule was tight. ** No pushy or intimidating selling; they just let you know when something looks like it would soon need attention. ** Always very pleasant and friendly. I never thought I'd be singing the praises of an auto mechanic, but VJ and his crew truly deserve it. read more

My biggest reasons I'll be coming back here are because I got honesty and I got respect as a customer. I had Michael help me out and the price he gave me for what I needed was fair! Since my car is an older model and it's got over 200k miles on it, he gave me options for what I could do and I really appreciated it! In addition, I know not many women who have good experiences at auto shops but I was very fortunate enough to have Michael help me out. He was really nice, respectful, and explained everything to me without making me feel incompetent. I will definitely be going back and recommending this place to others! read more

The most dependable Auto Service that I have found in the entire area. Professional, dependable, trustworthy and on time with delivery. Reasonable costs, quality work - by trained mechanics. read more

The business owner is misrepresenting what happened. On day one they informed me that the filter they had in stock was rusty and they were waiting for a new one,I told them I would wait and pick up the RV the next day with oil changed. The next day I called to see if it was ready and was told I needed new tires and the oil change would not be performed unless I spent $1,500 on tires. On day Two I told them I would pick it up with no service performed. Later that day I agreed to purchase their tires at an outrageous price. I hadn't much choice I was already 24 hours late on my trip. Checking tire pressure as required by statute means just that, properly inflate the tires. Not harass the public to spent money. read more

VJ, Dane, and the rest of the staff at VJ's Auto Service are all amazing! I depend on both of my vehicles to keep pets safe 24 hours a day. VJ's has taken care of the basics, such as oil changes and tune ups in order to keep them both in perfect condition. When a repair is needed, they go above and beyond to make sure it's done correctly and in a timely manner...as well as keeping the cost as reasonable as possible. They are the highest quality mechanics anywhere and definitely care about their customers as if they are family. I have recommended VJ's to many friends and every one of them have said nothing but great things and they all have returned for routine maintenance & repairs, as well as recommend them to all of their friends & family. If I could give them 10 stars, I would :-) read more

I was very pleased with the service that was done on my car with a routine oil change. My car runs great and I am one satisfied customer! I was also very pleased with the clean, cool, inviting and comfortable office that I waited in. The employees are polite, kind and professional. The customers are pleasantly treated with dignity and respect. read more

I want to say thank you to Michael at VJ's Auto Service. On May 23, I was driving around in my significant other's 2DR Lexus 1990- excellent condition, and then when I parked the car... I noticed the splash guard had fallen off. I got nervous and quickly searched via YELP for an auto repair shop that can fix it right away. Michael took my car in. And the car was fixed within 10 mins. He was patient and very kind. He also did not charge me. (I was expecting a whoppin' $50). I am very grateful for VJ's Auto Service. The facility is clean. Service is terrific. Reps were patient on the phone with me. THANK YOU VJ's AUTO SERVICE. read more

Fabulous and quick service. Even got a ride home. The repair cost was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. The best part is VJ' s AAA certified. Very professional and friendly service. I highly recommend this place. read more

I love taking my car into VJ's! When it comes to repairs on my car, I'm always skeptical about who is servicing it. I currently live in Sherman Oaks but am always willing to make the drive to Arcadia to get it serviced at VJ's. Not only is the customer service awesome, but VJ does a very thorough job with every bit of the repair to see that I'm satisfied. He also includes me in the process, educating me every step of the way with the service. And if something ever goes wrong, he immediately gets back to work on it until everything is in top running shape. Ultimately the greatest feeling I get when I go in to the shop is that he treats me like a family member! I love it! Thanks VJ! read more

Owner of a Mazda RX-8. Best shop ever. Friendly staff and quality service. I came in due to a coolant leak. I wasn't sure where it was coming from. I didn't have much time but Vj'staff offered me a ride to work while they inspect my vehicle. I later on received a courtesy call from Vj's staff and I was informed that I had a radiator leak. Not only did they get an Enterprise vehicle delivered to me at work but Vj's provided a welcomed discounted rate. Best service I received anywhere!!!! Thank You Vj, Bryan, Tommy, Jose and the rest of the staff. read more

As far as quality and reliability you cant beat this repair shop. Personal attention is above and beyond normal. Repaired items are always better than factory. Everything I have goes to them. read more

Amazing! After having had horrible work done on my breaks at another location I decided to try VJs. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Excellent one on one service. Extreme attention to detail with honest opinions. I trust VJ and Brian 100%. They serviced my RV and went through everything with recommendations that my previous RV guy never did. They doubled my gas mileage and that's not an exaggeration. read more

My name is Julie Frank and I have had 5 motorhomes in my life. That means years of service and repairs which I have done at many different shops. I had many different repair shops because I never found one worth sticking with. I sure wish I had found vj's many years ago. They are honest as well as being super efficient and unlike most dealerships and repair shops they don't hang on to your RV for several weeks before even beginning to do the work. My previous experience with the last rv shop I went to, (Giant RV) was that they had my vehicle for 7 weeks causing me to miss out on two trips I had previously planned. I told them I needed the vehicle no later than a certain date which I gave them. When i went to pick it up they asked me if I was going to bring it back as soon as I got back from my trip. I asked what for? They said they had not had time to begin doing the work yet. So my RV sat for seven weeks in their parking lot when I could have been using it and not missing those trips with my friends. Vj's is completely different. They had my vehicle in and out in a matter of only a few days. These people actually plan ahead and order the parts when possible and have them in stock before you bring your vehicle so you do not have so much downtime. The work was done in a very timely fashion and was done correctly. I have taken that same RV on several trips now and have not ever had anything they have repaired fail . They are honest and fair and I will NEVER go to anyone else. They also do car repairs so from now on my cars are also going to them. I highly recommend them to do all of your work. They will for sure be doing all of mine. If I could give them 10 Stars I would. Very sincerely, you're happy customer for Life. Julie Frank read more

Rip off. I took my car to Vj's when it overheated on me. They must have been blinded by dollar signs when they saw a blonde woman alone who was 9 months pregnant because two days later I received a call from Dane telling me that the water pump needed to be replaced, the timing belt needed to be replaced, the engine had to be dismantled to do it, blah, blah. Grand total of roughly $2300. I nearly piddled over from shock! My husband was a mechanic in his younger years and knew that this was bull. We had a tow truck down there the same day and had my car towed to Dan's Automotive in Monrovia. Dane at Vj's proceeded to tell me that Dan's was ripping me off, there's no way he could do the work for cheaper than that. Again, blah, blah. Turned out that there was nothing wrong with my water pump. My car wasn't even overheating. The sensor malfunctioned and was signaling a false overheat. Only cost me pocket change to fix and my car has been running great ever since. Thank you Dan's Automotive... an honest mechanic indeed! I surely won't be going to Vj's ever again. I can't believe I could've paid them $2300 for a non-existent problem. That's messed up enough to warrant a bad posting on Yelp. read more

Horrible... took advantage of me.. estimate for $148 to fix my 1968 Mercedes that needed new spark plugs and hoses. Went to pick up the car and they charged me $1533. without even telling me the cost of the new estimate!!! am reporting them to the Board of Automotive repair immediately. read more

I really feel comfortable having my car in the hands of these guys. It's difficult to find someone outside of the dealer to handle your car - I don't like going to the dealer. These guys do it right and are honest about repairs and your options. I've been going there for at least three years now. Only drawback is they're not open on the weekend. read more

Go to the dealer....it's cheaper! Had work done, part was $90 at local auto shop VJ charged $250! Labor was $350. Called local dealership asked for a estimate and they quoted less. Finding a good, honest mechanic can be difficult, but Vj (the owner) and his people fit the bill. They've consistently provided quality mechanic service at fair rates. I would recommend this service center. read more

I went in for an oil change in July. It took them two hours before they finally finished, all the while my mother and I were made to wait in a hot waiting room that had a bee flying around inside and one dead on the floor. We were very unhappy with the situation but neither of us are the type to complain to anyone's face so we brushed it off at the time. I recently received an email reminder for an "upcoming appointment" that I never scheduled, that they presumptively scheduled for me assuming I would want to come back. Which I don't. read more

This time around I decided to have them take a look at my personal car. 1996 Mercedes. It was running rough, idle was bad, and transmission was shifting hard. I was fearful of what they would find. Turned out to be vacuum lines. That's it! A few lines that needed replacement. Instead of looking for a new car I got to take my own car home for a very reasonable price. Got to say they do know there stuff. Thankful and relieved. read more

Vj ( the owner) runs a tight ship here, no complaints, everything is done on time and the service is absolutly superior. Staff is very friendly, the best tech they have is Johnny ( he knows his stuff) and in the office Carlos is one of the best. I will most definetly be coming back here. read more

Really professional and effective service! They also provide car rental services in a really low price when you left your car for them to fix. P.s. Michael is the best!! read more

So apparently the owner of the establishment has commented on my review and said they wouldn't repair the tire unless they are 100% sure the tire can be repaired. My response to that is that, you guys are not just good enough, if you can't look at a 2 month old tire and say if it can be repaired or not. I guess a typical mechanic doesn't go too many weeks into this career without being able to tell the difference between repairable tires and unrepairable ones. Good luck with fleecing customers. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a while and can't rightly put it off any longer. I've had a couple of service and diagnostic/repair jobs done here on my cars, and each time I've been impressed by the professionalism, transparency and service shown by Brian, Michael and the rest of the team. Every time there's been a need for significant work I've received a phone-call with a clear explanation of the available options, probable and maximal costs, and likely outcomes of a particular option. Their prices are great for the high quality of work performed and the warranty on/quality of parts used, and their turnaround times have been phenomenal in my experience. Any additional issues noticed while work was performed were noted in detail on the invoice, and recommendations were given for time-frames to have certain issues fixed. I would absolutely trust VJs not to recommend work unless it was necessary. When a shop charges (in my case) $30 for diagnostic work that would be a flat $100 labour minimum at many other places, then unsticks a rounded, frozen bolt for you so you can perform the part replacement yourself, *then refuses payment for the extra work*, you know you're dealing with people who rely on honest return-custom business. read more

Had such a great experience at VJ for first time I've been there. Brian was so friendly and informative, he kind of makes you wanna come back lol. Easy, quick, and straight to the point without being overly pushy! Love the service! read more

I am extremely please with the service that was offered and the work that was done on my car. The roof of my convertible top 350z opened up while I was driving on the freeway at 7:00 AM. I could no longer drive and there were not many shops open at that hour except Vj's. The staff was great - warm, helpful, did not try to rip me off at all. They explained everything to me in great detail and told me what the problem was. This is not where it ends, they actually troubleshooted the issue for me and came up with an alternative, cost-effective resolution for me! Which is what I really really appreciated. I did not have to wait too long, and was able to doze off comfortably in their guest lounge. Not only all this, they even followed up with me to make sure that everything was working find and I did not encounter any further issues. I live in the Valley (about an hour out from where they are located) but I will still choose to drive all the way out to Vj's to get any service done on my car hereon. Thank you so much! read more

These guys were so helpful in getting an issue fixed. They took my truck in right away, were super-friendly, and extremely attentive. VJ's was the nearest shop for us to be towed to by AAA when one of my employees got 2 flat tires and needed 2 new rims as well! Been going to VJ's auto for well over 20 years, beginning when he was a mechanic in a gas station. But over the years his business has become grossly over-priced and the work is substandard. After multiple visits, they were unable to make a number of repairs to our autos, which were then repaired without problem elsewhere. I got two separate quotes for engine trouble, both well below the ridiculous quote that VJ's quoted me. Both other quotes were more than $1200 less than what VJ's quoted. The mechanic we went with ended up doing pehnomenal work on my car for $1400 less than the quote at Vj's. We then took the second car to the other mechanic and they did another amazing job at a fraction of the cost. It is not worth the money going to Vj's as there are other great, honest mechanics out there who are not going to overcharge. read more

Had been looking for a place to service my Chevy. The dealership I bought it closed. That was a few years ago so would have had to find one anyway. I came to VJ's when my engine light came on. I got a ride home and waited to hear what was wrong with my car. Michael to tell me that my car was burning oil faster than expected so my oil was low. Well it turned out that my transmission may need servicing. My initial reaction was, "NO" but I agreed that they check and d the work. Well a little while later I got a call from Michael,. Turns out the parts that needed servicing were under warranty. Not only did they get my car to the dealership in Pasadena but they spoke with their mechanics themselves and took care of keeping me updated as to the repairs. Then they picked it up & brought it back to VJs. Best customer service I have ever had. I am thrilled to have found this awesome shop! read more
