So I have continued to use this business for both of my cars this last year. All I can say is, it is a pleasure to deal with such straight shooters. First, I brought my car to the other shop to check the oil leak, and they diagnost it and told me, its the crank shaft seal is leak came from, but when i pick up the car, the leak is still there and bring it back to them, and said its from the cam shaft seal, and they replaced the seal, and they find out, the ingine mount is broken.but, when they replaced the ingine mount, heard a weird sound so, I brought it back, twice to the but, nothing fix.And i went to Lima shop, i spoke to Cris about the weird sound,he said, came from the ingine mount that they replaced and its defective, so, Cris replaced it again with a new one and the problem is solved . So I really recommend Lima Shop ,and they're honest no honky funky. read more

Early Sept 2025 my daughter took her car to Lima Auto Repairs, Monrovia. Engine repair, $3K+ repair job. Late Sept 2025 she had to have it TOWED back to Lina, radiator replaced, another K. Mid - Oct 2025 back to Lima. Leaking oil, rough idling. More $. Finally I convince her to take the car to CA Smog & Repair in Stanton, CA. This place repaired the horrible mess Lima and gotten the car into. Do Not use Lima Auto Repairs. These guys don't know what they are doing. They appear to be incompetent. They never fixed the 1st problem and everything went south. Not to mention, why the hell didn't they catch some of these issues during the multiple diagnostics we paid for? there are some places you plan to review but never get around to doing it. THIS is not going to be one of those because of the way I discovered Lima Auto, and when. i'm in this area more than i'd like for reasons unrelated to car trouble, which in fact is exactly the sort of thing that makes such temporary living difficult when it occurs. this occurrence happened at a most inconvenient moment, as my friend was being released from a local hospital and i was determined to get away from here for a much needed 400 mile drive back home. unfortunately, i turned on the car only to see that dreaded icon appear on the panel that looks like a transmission or some similarly mysterious and essential mechanical car part, and advises "check engine". what the hell is there to check? so i ask a guy in a motel i was at where to get a car repaired, and of course he mentioned local gas stations and pep boys type stores. hopeless how locals in LA seem to know so little about their immediate surroundings. anyway i called some tire place and a guy says well we've got a lot ahead of you, leave your car here overnight and we'll get to it. uh, no. next i go to my usual best reference, yelp of course, and there sure enough is this listing for Lima which is maybe two miles away. i called and Mike said, sure bring it by and we'll have a look. MY GOD this isn't happening, this kind of thing NEVER happens in real life. i drive a couple of miles, past fast food and discount food stores and burrito places and all the rest of the lightweight retail stuff that makes up most of southern california, and here is this place: Lima Auto Repair. Two guys in the office which is way too tidy for the usual appearance of a repair garage. Mike gets out the magic electronic sensors that read the inner workings of a car, and announces you need a new cat converter. these are expensive of course, but not a deal breaker when you're driving a few hundred miles home. Mike wouldn't take my money, so I promised in return I'd write this review which is completely genuine. Thank you, Mike. I needed that. So here's the review in shortform. Anytime you find a guy skilled in the arcane world of auto repair and generous of spirit to take the time to do a quick check out of a problem, make that guy a permanent listing in your address book. he's more important to you than a brain surgeon, because you're very unlikely to need the latter but will for sure need the former. I have added Lima to my directory, and will have Mike and partner Chris replace the converter next time i'm in the neighborhood. Impressive, hard to find service here at Lima. read more

Awesome service! I went in to get my car diagnosed for a coolant leak. I spoke with Chris, the manager about what was going on with my car. He then told me a few things that could be wrong but they'll take a look. After the technician diagnosed my car, Chris mentioned that there were no leaks found, and the system is holding pressure correctly. He said when it's time to do my hoses, then come back, and they did not charge me to diagnose! I'm very happy and will be returning if something is wrong or when I'm ready to replace my hoses. People may find my logic funny, but they earned my trust when they actually forgot to tighten all the lug nuts on one of my tires the first time I went there for service. The fact that a friend referred them to me also played a role, but after my tire "rolled" off my truck and I was stranded down the street the urgency in which they came to my aid and how they took accountability for their actions without excuse was what earned my trust. Also on two separate occasions, I had "over" diagnosed the issue and Chris did not take advantage of that and fixed each problem with little to no cost in each case. I will not say Lima is the lowest cost option, but if you are looking for a shop with integrity who gets your car back on the road in tip top shape at a fair price, this is the place. For reference, some of the services I have received from Lima on my two cars: 2002 Suburban Four Wheel Drive engaged, car would swerve - I thought it was a 4 wheel drive issue, but Chris told me it was my tires. No cost A/C issue, does not get cold when in park or idling - I thought and was told by others, it was an A/C issue and it just needed Freon! Steering column issues that caused my wheels to wear improperly, I pushed for this service and happy I did Fuel pump 2005 Corvette Support bracket Selective drive control shocks - pending. I have two options. One very expensive since each shock costs $800 a piece and I need 4 and there are no after market options. I know, because they gave me the option to shop for parts on my own and they would replace if I wanted or go with non selective drive control option which would be 1/4 of the cost, but warned me there would be an annoying warning light. Still trying to decide while Chris is researching if I have any more options. How cool is that! read more

Had my brakes done and within 6months we started getting squeaking noise every time I braked. Additionally and unrelated there was a loud ticking noise coming from my engine in the mornings with some loss of power. Took the car in and Lima re-did my brakes under warranty stating there was a chip in the brake pad. They diagnosed and repaired the fuel injection system which was causing the ticking and loss of power. Mike followed thru on time to call back after diagnosis to provide explanation as to what the issues were. Upon go-ahead the problem was taken care of. Car is working well again. He listened to my concerns about my car's ignition, outlined a couple of possible solutions, and referred me to a key specialist who might be able to take care of the issue for me. I'm upset to be writing this because when I first brought my car here I genuinely thought they were a stand up honest business, they repaired a sensor on my car and everything seemed fine. So I decided to return with business on a brake repair job. They were suppose to do my breaks and it said they did upon pickup, well my car started making weird noises not even 2 months later. One of their workers really tried to tell me it's time to get them done again because I "drive so much", So I decided to take my car to pep boys, and another mechanic for a second opinion and even third. They both told me my brakes were never fully replaced here at Lima, I had to pay AGAIN to have the front and rear replaced and funny enough , it's been about 6 months and I've had no issues even though I drive the exact same amount as when I took it to Lima. They tried to sell me more services knowing they didn't do the job right in the first place and offered for me to take my car and "make it right" But why would I want them to work on my car again knowing they messed up? So instead I asked for reimbursement and they completely ignored me. Do NOT take your car here if you aren't knowledgeable on what work is needed and if you can't tell if they actually did the work, they can tell when people don't really know about cars and they will steal your money for a shitty job and never "make it right". read more

Guys who work there are super super nice. My car has been making weird noise lately and I wanted to get my car checked out. I used to take my car to Toyota but wait is long and their labor fees are usually expensive so I used some app to find out what the estimate of the price will cost to diagnose. The place send me a quote which was much more reasonable that other places so I decided to give this place a try. This place has early drop off, shuttle/ride service so thought it was great. Well it turned out they couldn't really find anything wrong with my car and just gave me a heads up of what to look/hear for the future and bring it back if that happens. Since they didn't find anything wrong with my car, they didn't even charge me anything! maybe that's what it supposed to be, but no labor charge for inspection or taking time or looking for the problems? that's considered labor!! And usually other place will try to find something to fix or change fluid and do more service than I ask for! Thank you so much for being so nice and honest. I met the Mike Bruni in passing and when I noticed that he was a mechanic that owned a vehicle like my own I asked a couple of questions. First it had to do with a broken car door latch that I was experiencing in my 15 year old truck. On the spot Mike assessed the situation, quoted me a ballpark price and said to drop by the shop any time. I had initially messaged the place on Yelp for an estimate. Mike asked me to bring it in to check it out. I came in on a Saturday and told him what longo Toyota had said about my breaks. Longo told me I had to service front and back breaks. After mike checked it out, he told me I only needed my front break pads replaced. He quoted me 180$ and about an hour for it to be done. I have never felt inclined to write a review until today My 80 year old mother who is hard of hearing was ripped off by this auto shop today It really bothers me how places of business take advantage of the elderly My mother is very independent and tries her best to get what needs to be done on her own and of course without discussing situations with me because she knows I have a busy scheduled but this auto shop was supposed to take out one specific thing and then of course started the long salesman pitch oh you need window wipers and tail lights and a fan belt and of course her brakes were starting to wear, they freaked her out so bad that of course she said just repair everything, let me tell you they charged her $ 542.00 for these services just to make a sale I tried calling them to stop but of course they had already started like I told Chris the one who did the sale should of called me prior to all of these so called repairs because I could of made a better judgement call and had this handled by my husband a simple light and front brake pads and belt and the wipers I am just so upset that places of business take advantage of the elderly especially since most are on a fixed income like my mom. So if you have a elderly Mother or Father please steer them away from this Lima Auto Repair they will do anything to make a sale its pathetic read more
