I just want to give a shout out to these guys because they totally helped me out. I got a bad flat tire on the fwy on my way to an event and my car was loaded. They helped me take everything out in order to get the rim ( all that was left of my tire). Came back after 3 years, and let me tell you, things have changed I took my F-250 in with a screw in the tire. I paid $35 for the patch and $10 for a tip. Two hours later, my rim cup cracked, and the tire is leaking. I would have been much better off leaving the screw in and taking it to a professional tire shop, where you at least get a receipt for your transactions. Unprofessional workers, the one working on my tire was pretty much drunk, he smelled like a bottle of vodka, by the time I realized this it was already done. Never again. read more

Yesterday, I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at a tire shop. I urgently needed a new tire, so we stopped here because we needed one right away. It was around 100 degrees outside, and we were left standing outside in the heat. When we approached the owner, he was very rude and seemed annoyed when we asked for a tire. He told us they could help us, so we waited approximately 30 minutes in the heat. When I went to ask what was taking so long, he saw us but never acknowledged us or even said, "I'll be right with you." We were simply left standing there in the extreme heat. He never offered us a place to wait in the shade or showed any concern that we had been waiting outside for so long. We also asked if they could rotate our tires, and the owner seemed annoyed by that request as well. Because of the way we were treated, I decided not to have my tires rotated. I understand that a business can be busy, but basic communication and respectful customer service should still be provided. If there was going to be a wait, all he had to do was communicate that to us. Instead, we were ignored while standing outside in 100-degree weather. Unfortunately, I needed the tire urgently, so we completed the purchase. However, based on this experience, I will never return to this tire shop and I absolutely will not recommend it to anyone. AVOID THIS SCAM PLACE. I only leave 2 types of reviews, for really bad or really great service. THIS PLACE IS REALLY BAD!!! So this shop really scammed me in multiple ways. Mind you, I work in this industry, so most people would not realize they were being lied to, so here you go, read my story and make your own judgments. Note it is long. Here is the summary: Lied about the New tire he sold me. The so-called NEW TIRE he sold me was MADE IN 2013.... OVER 10 years old!!!! (What does rubber do over time??) Caused damage to my wheel (would not admit to it), and would not give me a receipt AFTER I PAID HIM $150 (Mind you I asked nicely before I complained, which I thought was weird, if I did a job for you, you paid me, and asked for a receipt, I would give it to you, UNLESS I WAS TRYING TO HIDE SOMETHING). If you ask me, if this owner is willing to do this much on a simple tire replacement. what is he willing to do on larger jobs to get your money??? #1. I called the place and asked for the cheapest USED tire they had available in the size I needed to replace 1 tire that got nail/road damage. After about 10 min. On hold, the lady said NO USED TIRE. However, they had a NEW one they would give me a deal on, $150 INSTALLED/BALANCED. So I said OKAY and went to the shop. #2 Now mind you this was NOT the best deal, I researched the tires and these BRAND NEW GO FOR ABOUT $130, then add install/balance so I was saving like $10 in the end. Lie number #1 #3 Drop off the wheel, they said to come back with CASH. Now I usually appreciate this, but this is where the issue began. #4. I went and picked up my wheel and noticed some marks on it, at first I figured it was the tire lube you have to use. Kinda sloppy, but not uncommon. THEN I ASKED FOR A RECEIPT, THE OWNER SAID, "YOU DON'T NEED ONE" then wrote something on his card and then said that this was my receipt. #5 I went home and washed my wheels and realized they put a 12 inch deep scratch in one. I LOAD IT BACK UP AND DRIVE TO THE SHOP ASAP! I got there and let the owner know that they damaged my wheel and HE WOULD NOT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY! !!! (Lie #2) #6 Now I'm kinda mad. The owner also said it was okay because the wheel was already marked up. While it does have some minor damage from over the years, because of THAT HE FELT IT WAS OKAY TO ADD MORE DAMAGE??? WWWOOOOWWWW!!! #7 (Lie #3) He then showed me a tire machine they had which had a bunch of tires on it and said this machine can't cause damage, IF they were using that machine, why did it have tires as a means of storage space?? (Obviously this is my professional judgment). NOTE THE PICTURES, YOU CAN TELL WHEN NEW RECENT DAMAGE OCCURS AND YOU BE THE JUDGE, THE DAMAGE WAS NEW. Again, the owner said they did not do the damage but again, I work in this field, he would have done this to anyone, He intimidates to avoid accountability. #8 So I then said, FORGET THE DAMAGE, WE ARE GOOD, JUST GIVE ME A RECEIPT (my work said they would cover this cost, just bring a receipt, so this was especially important to me) THE OWNER SAID NO! All the owner had to do was acknowledge on paper that I paid for a service, forget about the damage, and we are good and the owner said NO!!!(That's a best case scenario for him) #9 Owner offered to give me my money back and take his tire back. SO he wanted his tire back, re-damage my wheel, and then I just got free wheel damage, how fun. I was NOT RISKING THEM DOING ANY MORE DAMAGE!!! So in the end, I paid $150, got wheel damage, NO RECEIPT, got sold an 11 year old tire as a NEW TIRE. THAT'S A USED TIRE IN MY BOOK!! And never even got an apology. AGAIN I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE! TAKE YOUR CAR TO A BIG BOX STORES WHERE THEY WILL COVER WHATEVER THEY DAMAGE. Not this scum bag. Think about what he had to do to make it right, just right on a piece of paper that I paid him $150 for a tire, which is what happened. Obviously he knew he messed up badly and was not willing to have it in writing but then never admitted to it. Monrovia Tire Company is a reliable tire shop in good ol' Old Town Monrovia. They've spared me a few times when I was in need for a tire, but couldn't quite afford a new one just yet. They went out of their way to not only look for the size of the tire, but match the brand of the tire as much as possible. Luckily, we found a perfect match, which was great cause it didn't feel weird to drive off with a cheap brand. They've also patched up my tires and done rotations. My rear tire on the driver's side was slowly leaking. I attempted, but failed, to cure it with worm. On Monday, I came to this shop to get that fixed. I get out of the car and wait for my turn for nearly forty minutes. I received a call an hour later to say the leak had been rectified. I was told that the repair will cost $20 by the cashier woman. I paid for it and walked out. Two days later, I discovered that the slow leak was still there and was becoming worse. I thus went there today to ask for the correction. 1. The owner refuted claims of inadequate work performance. What I discovered is that the owner, who is disabled, consistently asserts that worms were not used in the repair of the vehicle. I informed them that was my job and came your shop fix it correctly 3 days ago. I even informed him that the young Spanish man had worked on it when I had been here three days ago. And I had paid the cashier $20. The owner saying that I'm lying because that repairs cost is $25. He ask me to pay another $25 to fix it. 2. I talked to he cashier woman. However she suggested that it could be another tire. She talks me like that I changed the tire to fix the tire leak. However, at least she didn't dispute that I wasn't there to fix the tire. 3. The Spanish mechanic who serviced my tire 3 days ago was aware of this, and he and the manager spoke with one another to verify that he performed the task in Spanish. It looked like that they confirmed. However, when I tried to talk to him, they wouldn't allow me communicate with him. They told me that he doesn't speak English. Then the Spanish person told me, "No English,". That means that he understand what we are talking about. Witty and evil. I had to leave the place since everyone there was really dishonest and intimidated me with their ranting. They refused to fix the tire. read more

I needed a patch on my tire and came across this joint who said they could help me right away. I didn't even need to get out of the car. They jacked me up and went about their business. Also the guy doing my patch happened to notice that my brakes were bad. It had been quite a while since I changed them so I knew he was telling the truth. And we ended up doing them there. It was very quick and on par as far as price goes. Anytime things are on par with the general vicinity and it's a small mom and pop shop I love to give my business to them. I have been coming here for years. I always see the same workers here which is nice. Everybody seems happy to be working here and all of the employees are always really nice. . My most recent visit was to have them remove a nail from my tire which was causing a slow leak. They jumped right on it. Tire patched and I'm on my way in no time. I noticed that while the tire was being patched the worker checked the air pressure in all the other tires. Extra effort like that is really nice to see. They were so nice ! I was referred to them from a friend. I needed my flat tire patched and I called to see if they had time to do it same day and how much. They told me to come on down and that it would cost $25 to patch it up but if I needed a replacement tire that it would cost more. I asked if they accepted card and they do! Rotors were resurfaced here, only to end up unusable. The finish on all four rotors were inconsistent, and quite frankly botched. Closer inspection reveal grooves and steps on the rotor face, and rendered unusable. So much material was trimmed from the rotors that they are now beyond allowable tolerance. It was made clear that no warranty is honored on work like this, so I'm out of luck on this one. read more

I WISH EVERY SMALL BUSINESS HAD THIS TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called this morning to inquire about new tire prices for my car. I believe it was David who answered. He tried his best to give me a quote with the information I was able to provide by looking at my sad, flat, floppy tire. He gave me a few prices since Yokohama made so many types. He was trying his best and definitely didn't want to misquote or give bad info. While on the phone, he also offered to let me borrow a tire while he placed an order for mine! It would take about a day or two to be delivered. That was extremely nice, generous, and completely unexpected. Fortunately, my husband was able to pop the flat off and we took it to the shop a couple hours later. David remembered me and lucky enough, they were able to patch the tire instead! I was so happy that I'd be spending $20 instead of $120-150 for a new one. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Ladies, I don't know about you, but I often times feel like many (not all) mechanics try to embellish or upsell every chance they get. However, not this place. It's an honest place with great people who work hard and have a great attitude. I will definitely be coming back when it's time to replace my tires. Hopefully I won't be getting any more flats. 4.5 Rounding up to 5. Finally washed my car before a long drive & noticed a 2 inch crack in my tire. For obvious reasons, I went tire shopping. Started with a local shop that's close to where I was, plus all those excellent Yelp creds. Pulled in and spoke with Patsy. Told her what size and she said I'll get a call once they get some prices. I asked her to text instead and about an hour or so later, texts came in with brands and price. They were very reasonable and straighforward about their pricing. She gave me a quote with tires, labor and tax included, so I knew exactly what to expect. I went in to place an order since they didn't have it in stock. Left a deposit and was told they will be in the following day around noon. The next day at noon .. ring ring ... the tires are in. Perfect! I drove over there shortly after and was told they were busy and I'd have to wait, but it only took less than 30 min. so it wasn't bad at all. (side note: I recall Pep Boys 5 min. away took over 3 hours) With the new tires on, I was on my way and still had plenty of the afternoon to enjoy. 4.5 for the prompt service, performing whatever they said they would, and I never had to once follow up with them. Very easy to do business with them. Minus .5 for not really having a waiting area, just some chairs facing their work space. So bring some music to drown out the power tools. Notes: * Old Town Monrovia is only a block away. If your car will take a while, walk over there and enjoy shops, food, coffee, dessert ..etc * If you have a specific brand of tire in mind, ask them for a quote. * Weekdays appear to be less busy for them, so maybe shorter wait. * It's a no-thrills establishment. They do their duties, but don't provide any comforts or conveniences. If you want a nice couch & a TV, go somewhere else and pay more. read more
