I don't usually write reviews, but after my second great experience at Take 5, I had to. Both times I've gone, the staff has been incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. From the moment you pull up, they make the whole process feel easy and stress-free. One thing I really appreciate as a woman in my 20s is that they actually take the time to explain everything they're doing and walk you through the service without making you feel uncomfortable or pressured. Unfortunately, I know a lot of women my age feel nervous going to car service places alone because it can feel intimidating or like you're being taken advantage of. I never once felt that way here. They were honest, patient, and genuinely helpful. The customer service is honestly top tier. They even offer you a water while your car is being serviced, which is such a small thing but makes the experience feel that much more thoughtful. The fact that you stay in your car the whole time is also a huge plus. The service is quick, efficient, and the staff keeps the conversation going so the time flies by. I was able to get my oil changed and still have enough time to grab lunch all within my one-hour break from work. I came back to the office talking nonstop about how great my experience was. Extremely unethical and dishonest experience. My grandmother's husband called this shop ahead of time and was quoted 120 dollars over the phone for an oil change and coolant service. When my grandmother arrived in person, she was assisted by Marcellino and was charged 260 dollars instead, which she paid upfront. She is an elderly woman, only speaks Spanish, and has no knowledge of cars. The services and pricing were not explained to her in a way she could understand. The quoted price was not honored, and no clear explanation was given for why the cost more than doubled. It felt very clear that they took advantage of her age, language barrier, gender, and lack of car knowledge rather than being honest and transparent. This is not acceptable business practice. I strongly warn others, especially elderly customers, Spanish speaking customers, and anyone unfamiliar with car maintenance, to be very cautious when dealing with this shop. read more

Way quicker than the oil change place down the street. All the attendants were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. You can have a cold drink while you get your change done in the car. The drawback? Well they make you turn your car off and the day I went it was HOT AS ...... the other place has an AC unit they clip into your window and this one didn't. Today was my 2nd visit...and it's still just as awesome as it was during opening. Not a long wait, you sit in the car and they explain everything they're doing. They also use some type of verbal safety method while doing work on the car. This made me feel better because about the job they're doing. No accidental oil stick or cap left laying on the engine after leaving. Go! It's easy and affordable. The staff is amazing and attentive. What was supposed to be a quick 10 to 15 min visit turned into two visits and some levels of stress after my service with Take 5 Oil Change here. But I've given it my best rating as my second visit resolved everything, where my car is working as the same way I brought it in for the simple service. So in first visit, the tl;dr is my hose to the air intake was totally disconnected. I came in for my old car's timely oil change and greeted with friendliness and a nice water bottle. From my perspective, the way they run the operations reminds me of a close knitted kitchen crew. A head chef leading and making call outs, and others working on the car returning the call and reporting findings. I think it's cool and great! Efficient too. I was soon convinced to go for the full synthetic for about $ 110, and was also eventually convinced too after some consideration to get my engine air filter and my cabin filters replaced as well. I knew those haven't been touched since I can last remember. Originally was going to use a local paper coupon received by mail, but was advised they had a better new opening promotion where if I replaced two items plus the oil change then they will half off my oil change. Essentially a better bang for your buck deal (same price for all 3 things done), which was great to me since I am no car expert and they can generously do all the work even when the filters are super cheap and simple to do on own. I stayed entirely in the vehicle, can't come out I guess according to their policy. It was done quickly as I was expecting. Extra little things they did such replacing another filter under the car for the oil change, pumping air back into my tires, and courtesy windshield cleaning. Great! And so I got on with the rest of my day. One day later next evening, is when I notice my car behaving strangely. Dash lights turned on with traction control and engine light. Going at higher speeds resulted in random RPM dropping under one. I thought it was very strange as nothing major happened except the oil change. Didn't have time to go back to Take 5 Monrovia that night. I also didn't open up the hood since I wouldn't know what to look at lol. But went back finally two days after visit. Pulled up again with friendly greetings and a water bottle lol. Still wasn't allowed to exit vehicle, that's fine. But I expressed my findings to the service techs Angel and Juan. They were both great and super patient and helpful. They did the whole run through checking everything and eventually found that my hose was not connected to the air intake when it normally should. It was probably because my first visit they replaced filter but did not connected it back or was loose, I am unsure. They were kind and helped me take a picture too to confirm it was back in place and secured. One of the techs also had the device to check the codes for my vehicle and I was informed of what was going on. Eventually, he helped me reset the car with lights off. I've driven it now since 100 miles and no issues since this second visit. I am super thankful to them to resolve my issue (though it might seem minor issue, the stress of a potential broken car with no auto mechanic knowledge is not fun lol). So overall, this place is good, but I'm unsure if I would come back. I give it pluses for the nice extra things they do and the convenience, but cmon don't mess up like that please! Came here for the 25% military discount oil change, did 6 quart of the full synthetic which starts at $94.99 for 5 quarts and $10 additional per quart that is beyond 5. Paid $84 in total for my 6 quarts which saved me way more money than going to Jiffy Lube (was priced at $150 for same service) and still over $100 elsewhere. They top your tires off, give you complimentary water, dog treats (had my doggo with me), and also will replace wipers if bad as well as topping off the other fluids in your car and the air filter (if needed). Will be coming back! My dog Angelo happened to have the same name as one of rje personnel here who also is named Angelo so that was cool! He was very nice and friendly and even let me know Take 5 does 2 free complimentary top off quarts within 3K/3 month period (whichever is first) so that's another perk :) read more

I had a great experience taking my Honda there yesterday. Jered and his colleague were very knowledgeable and very friendly. They offered various options and explained all of them fully. I didn't know the oil brand "Duralast", which they offer for all of their options except for the mobile one option, which is obviously the most expensive. So if you really want a brand name, you can have it if you pay for it hopefully Duralast is good. In addition to doing the oil change, they also check other fluids and can do air and cabin filter changes and wipers. I didn't have them do this because all of mine were recently replaced. There is very old school customer service oriented vibes here which is a nice change from most other places. One thing I really appreciated was that at the end of the oil change, they show you the dipstick and the oil level. I saw that they also double checked the oil level when the oil change was finished, which is nice because I have had some oil changes where they were low after all the sudden and done and I had to add more oil. It took more than five minutes that's for sure but it's probably much faster than dropping your car off and then picking it up. I wish they also did tire rotations cause then that would pretty much take care of most of my frequent service requirements. Definitely recommend using them. read more
