I go to Reliable Smog Test when I need a SMOG Cert for my car registration. Adam is always helpful, and charges a fair price for good honest work. I highly recommend this place and Adam's the owner, and he always takes care of his customers and treats everyone good! read more

Living in Duarte, I decided to try Reliable Smog based on closeness of my residence and 5 star reviews where Angel smogged two of my three vehicles in one morning. Being in the automotive industry my entire career (20 years technician, 25+ years service management, it's safe to say my retail awareness is 'heightened '. That said: 1- Angel is a no nonsense kinda guy and got the job done at a very reasonable pricing 2- Seeing as most all customers wait, I strongly suggest the waiting room be spruced up. A LOT. Conclusion- I will be coming back for my other vehicle and will recommend Reliable. Please do what you can to the waiting room, it does make for a more positive experience. read more

Quick and easy Smog Test without an appointment. Convenient location just off the 605/210 interchange, with a comfortable waiting room. You get a better deal if you pay cash, but the rates are reasonable even with credit card. read more

I'd been dealing with a check engine light/misfire code for 2+ years on my Nissan. Despite multiple trips to my usual shop, they couldn't solve it. With my registration deadline looming, I panicked when I realized I needed a smog test & couldn't pass without clearing the code. I decided to try someone new and reached out to Adam at Reliable Smog Test/Auto Center. Adam squeezed me in despite being incredibly busy. He took the time to do a thorough diagnosis and successfully identified the issue, fixed it, and handled the smog test! Adam was very knowledgeable & took the time to explain things to me. He's friendly, honest, and clearly skilled & passionate about his work. A great overall experience. I can't recommend him highly enough! read more

Waited around for twice the amount of time I was told it would take so I just left. There are several places in the area, and if he was just honest about how long it would take I would've gone somewhere else. Hate being misled so someone can get my business. No thank you. read more

Was able to make a next day appointment. Service was fast and had no issues. Smog test pass on my Subaru Outback 2018

It was very busy when I arrived and I left my car in the middle of car chaos. That was okay because on of the guys re-parked it for me. The lounge furniture was old but comfortable. Another guy came in and told people about the bathroom, coffee and television at our disposal across the parking lot (not far at all). When I was quoted a price over the phone, I told the guy after he had written me up for more. They honored the verbal phone quote. I did have to wait, but was out in just under an hour. The price was the best one I could find. read more

Did a smog check. The price was competitive and the service was quick! Highly recommend.

I needed to have my car smogged. I had to call and leave a message 3 times before I got a call back. Adam apologized and said he'd be in the next day 8-6. I went there a little after 8am, he wasn't there but told he'd be in about 10:30. I was told to leave my name, phone # and year and type of car. I did that. He never did call me back (again). The last time I left a review was 6 years ago. I was pleased at that time but not any longer. Very UNprofessional. I ended up taking my car to someone else and will never go back there again. read more

Just had my car smog checked. Have not had one done in possibly 15 years. But my Rav 4 is 8 years old, and required. I went onto Yelp to find one close to home, with good ratings. This one was the best. They took me with a very short wait. The young man who was testing my car was very friendly and explained things well. Cost was only $50 (other places higher, without much positive feedback). I was very pleased with the service! Thank you!! read more

Had an awesome experience here with my smog test recently! Didn't need an appointment and was in and out so fast - less than 20 mins start to finish! Very reasonable pricing as well. The owner Adam is insanely friendly and nice! A real straight shooter! He did such a fantastic job of keeping me updated as the tests were running - frequently reassuring me that all was going well. And then bam! It was over and done just like that! The shop has a large waiting area with some sofas and chairs and a big fan for hot days. I highly recommend coming here! Will definitely be back anytime I need a smog check! Ty Adam! read more

Came here almost two weeks ago to get a smog test for my car registration. The owner was extremely kind and courteous. He had a puzzle out for his clients to do in a cozy, comfortable waiting area away from the cold and rain. He was very informative since I normally don't handle renewing the registration for my car. He also struck up a conversation about art with my boyfriend and seems very passionate and happy with what he does. I paid $42 in total. Overall, an amazing experience and I will be referring others to him! read more

Back today to get a smog , that time again. DMV notice to register my car (STAR STATION ONLY) I called this morning and was in exactly at 1:00 pm my given time slot. Out by 1:15 certificate in hand. Polite crew so nice !!!! Amazing price. I tipped 10 dollars for excellent service. He 100 percent did not want to take it. I'm a waitress and excellent service deserves a small token of appreciation I insisted !!! I do need to point out if you are coming from Monrovia headed there , don't stop at Duarte Smog it's about half a mile past it. The first time I was here I pulled over and saw it was not the address. I remembered from last time I went so I knew to keep going this time. Thanks again Adam :) read more

Adam will never ask you for a review. So be sure to write one for him! This is the best way to support his business and keep him busy! Always a pleasure to come around here. I think I've already written a review once before, but I haven't been I'm here in a while. Now that I am back... I think we are due for an updated review! The great news is that things have changed! Yet remain the same. Adam still offers the same great service with incredible energy. But now there is a new waiting area that he is setting up for his clients. Really happy to see him growing and always improving. He has a new assistant and she is very sweet. Her personality is definitely a reflection of Adam's - incredibly friendly and helpful. read more
