I came here for a smog check, and the whole experience was quick and hassle-free. The process is straightforward with no upselling or unnecessary waiting. I showed the online coupon and got $20 off, then paid cash for a total of about $70 for my 2012 Honda Accord. From the time I pulled in to the time I drove away, it only took about 15-20 minutes. The staff keeps things moving efficiently, and the service is exactly what you'd expect from a smog test center--fast and to the point. I arrived around 8:30 AM with only one car ahead of me, but by the time I left, four or more cars had already pulled in. The shop itself is basic and no-frills, but if you're looking for a place that gets you in and out without wasting your time, I'd definitely recommend coming early.

My vehicle did not pass (check engine light / too lean bank 1) and I was told I had 10 days to come back to complete and pass the test again; or, I will have to pay again. Today, 2.5.26, my car was serviced at Pep Boys. I checked and found that the Smog Test Only Station closes at 5 p.m. When I arrived, at 4:48 p.m. I saw the roll-up door closed, but the pedestrian door was open. I was approached by an abrasive male what stated, "We're closed." I said I thought you closed at 5 p.m. He stated, "We're take the last customer at 4:45 p.m. because it takes 20 minutes to complete a test." I said I am (3) minutes late, a return customer (with my paid receipt / failed test results), and had my vehicle serviced and repaired today. He stated, "You have to drive it 100 miles before you come back to re-test." "You could have just had the computer re-set." I was not told about the needed 100 miles to be driven. The male who assisted me (2) days ago walked up and I told him that I was not told this by him. He said, "I do not remember you." The rude guy tells me that Pep Boys should have told me about the 100 miles and that I should have told them why I was there; basically it all falls on me. He also stated, "You could have just had the computer re-set with out any repairs to pass a smog test." If this is a Smog Test Station rule, then they should have told me... not Pep Boys... after going back and forth, I said I will come back within the 10 days and drive the car as much as I can. I do not appreciate the accusation of possibly having the computer re-set without being repaired. I am only going back to complete the test, will never use this site again, and will share my experience to family, friends, and co-workers. Rudeness will slowly bring down a business. RESPONSE: Arcadia Smog Test Only Center (Owner) 4 days ago Hi Sophia, sorry that you had an issue, but i can not force anybody to stay after hours, it takes 20 minutes to do the test, and the guy is wright after the repair is done your mechanic will rest the check engine light needs to be driven before the retest that is not our rules your car will fail again and the guy was being honest with you, bring your at normal hours we will test it again thanks. UPDATE: On 2.9.26, I returned an my vehicle passed the smog check. All three (3) staff members lacked any form of customer service and/or politeness. The lady that I was sitting next to, while waiting for our cars, commented, "They are not very friendly here are they?" I responded, "No, not at all and I will never come back..." If the shop closes at 5 p.m., and the last customer should be there before 4:30 p.m., it should be posted. The staff and owner have completely missed the mark of customer service and the general principle of a polite greeting and simple conversation with each visit, "Hello, how are you?" and "Thank you." Customer service is not important to this business.
