Very expensive guesswork! Don't let the guy's friendliness fool you into thinking you're dealing with a great mechanic. It took me three visits and over $500 to realize that this guy was just taking wild guesses to fix my car's problem. The tune-up that was supposed to fix the car once and for all resulted in an emergency stop at Jiffy Lube when the car started leaking oil because he failed to put the filter on properly. I came by Reliable Auto Center last Thursday around 1 pm for a smog check. I just pulled my car right up and parked. Then walked over to an older man who helped me with the smog check. The wait time for my car to be done was only about 15 minutes and cost me $41 ($1 service fee if using a debit or credit car + $40 smog check). With such an easy transaction and quick service, I would not hesitate to come back here the next time I need to do another smog check in the future. Started my car in the morning and the radiator ruptured, took it in and left it in their care, picked it up that afternoon ready to go and for a great competitive price. He was even nice enough to let me store my car at the shop for a couple days while I made arrangements for it. I was checking for the nearest place that had a battery replacement for my car, and I also needed an oil change and service B. I told him I was in no rush and to please take his time. I received a call the next day saying that he was unable to perform service B, he put in a battery and said he did an oil change. Had a flat tire and the first time was a good experience... because they put the plug for free... but I realized that they just put a plug when they could have patched it. The second time they charged a ridiculous $30 to plug the tire. I thought they were very generous the first time doing it for free (still gave a generous tip and a 5 star review) but seeing how much I got charged the second time for a plug is ridiculous. These guys are great! We discovered them about 3 years ago, when my wife's Honda CRV needed her smog check. We wanted someone local and had prior good recommendations. I also used them recently, to hunt down an odd noise problem my Toyota RAV4's brakes were intermittently making, which was driving me nuts! Lol! I came across this gem of an auto center by word of mouth in Dec. 2015. I heard the prices were great and the service outstanding. My smog test was a breeze, I must have waited 15 min TOPS. Adam took care of my test and told me since his printer was out ink for the day he would email it to me. I was glad he followed through and emailed my certificate with in that week. Fast forward to March 2016 I am set for a tune up so I reached out to Adam via email. He asked my make and model and gave me a quote via email. As a young car owner it is a struggle to meet honest mechanics who actually care and are not trying to take your money. His promptness was awesome, as well as his customer service. Greatest experience I've had with oil changes! I used to drive to LA to get an oil change because that's where a family friend works and there would also be something wrong with my car. So when he would change the oil, he would also fix my car, so I would kill 2 birds with one stone. However, this time I just needed an oil change and driving all the way to LA for an oil change was not reasonable. I tried this location since it was a couple minutes away from my house and I'm so glad I went! I'm sad I didn't get the guys name who changed my oil. Not only did he give me an oil change, but he checked my tire pressure and made sure my car was running ok for no extra charge! Plus it only took 20 minutes!!
