I had set of 4 tires dropped shipped directly from Tire Rack (just like the past installations) and wanted to have them mounted, balanced and aligned at Tire Central. I arrived before 8:30 last Saturday 10/3/26, expecting the doors to be open by 9AM and expecting to get the work done, only to discover that the shop was closed. I ended up waiting close to three hours, only to find out that Tire Central closes on alternate Saturdays. When I spoke to Donald in person earlier today Saturday 10/10/26 (suddenly already open before the 9AM official operation hours; erratic), I was particularly disappointed by his rude and dismissive manner. Rather than feeling like a long time, loyal customer deserving of basic courtesy and consideration, I felt as though I was an irritating nuisance. After more than two decades of patronage, that was an unpleasant way to be treated. Donald blamed Google, explaining on a phone call the week following the long 3hr Saturday opening wait, that he was unable to edit or update the business hours to reflect the alternate Saturday closures. He also pointed out that the correct operating hours were listed here on Yelp. However, not everyone checks Yelp for business hours. Many customers, myself included, rely on Google to find operating hours and plan their visits. Having accurate hours on one platform while the information on another is incorrect creates unnecessary confusion and wastes customer's valuable time. I also heard that the Hunter alignment technician was off-sick. I understand that unexpected staffing issues can happen, but customers deserve accurate information and reasonable communication before making a trip to the shop. After waiting for hours, I expected a more understanding and customer-oriented response. What disappointed me most was the apparent lack of consideration for my time and loyalty. I expected better communication, professionalism, and customer service I'd supported this local business for decades. This experience was the final straw. I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Decades of customer loyalty should count for something. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that mine didn't.

A few weeks after one of the tires got replaced because of a nail problem, I unfortunately had another nail problem, and they refused to replace it even though I bought the warranty. In addition, during my most recent experience, I had gone to them 3 separate times because the same tire keeps saying the pressure was low. They finally inspected and told me there was a nail, but states they could not legally remove it because of the location in the center of the tread. Which was odd, especially since I also bought certificate of warranty, but they could also not honor it because they said the tread was too low. So I went to another tire shop nearby, (Thank you Fair Oaks Tires!) who were surprised that America Tires could not easily fix it. They promptly removed the nail and patched it for $45. I am now taking my business elsewhere, after a decline in services and lack of honoring the warranty that I had bought.

Two hours later, my rim cup cracked, and the tire is leaking. I would have been much better off leaving the screw in and taking it to a professional tire shop, where you at least get a receipt for your transactions. Unprofessional workers, the one working on my tire was pretty much drunk, he smelled like a bottle of vodka, by the time I realized this it was already done. Never again.

I knew exactly what I wanted, 215/60R16 Michelin Defender2s, but I still needed a shop willing to execute the setup correctly. They handled the unusual fitment without turning it into a problem. The wheels were mounted and balanced properly, the different front and rear hardware was handled correctly, and the car came out smooth and completely vibration-free. The difference is remarkable. The car is quieter inside, much better over broken LA pavement, and still feels planted and sharp at freeway speeds. This was the final piece of a longer suspension build, and their work made the whole setup come together. If you know what you want, or have something outside the usual factory-size tire swap, these are guys I would trust to do the work right.

I got to Mountain View Tire prior to my appointment and was able to check in by 7:40am. After a quick inspection of my existing tire, I was told the one I had ordered was not currently in stock, but he had one comparable to it and similar in price. He quickly added if I wanted the same tire, he would be able to place an order for it to be delivered by the afternoon. I immediately felt it was similar to a bait and switch and if tomorrow had not been a weekend where I didn't have to work, I would've just gone with the substitution. I finally agreed to have him order the tire for me before leaving the shop. I received a call right at around 3:30pm that my tire was delivered. I was very pleased with their communication. They didn't have the tire he needed in stock, so they immediately arranged to have one shipped overnight for him.
