The service has went down hill over the years with the opticians. Employees almost act like teenagers. If they are trained opticians, you could have fooled me. The doctors who do the exams are wonderful and professional. I would recommend exam but not glasses. Go somewhere else read more

I completed their online form and when I got there they asked for all the information again. Then they couldn't find the insurance Information when I provided it once again. When I called my insurance they had no explanation on why it wasn't found other than Visionworks doesn't know what their doing. This isn't the first time I've run into this. Don't bother going to this location, as they don't bother with you. Had a 9am appointment to have glasses adjusteded and pick out frames. Arrived 10 minutes early per emai. Diamond told me they open at 9, and I could not come in. At 9 went in the store glasses adjusted and picked out frames for 10:00 eye appt. Diamond told me to take a seat to wait. 1030 rolls around, I ask what is going on with appointment. Told they don't have my Covid paper, that I filled out at9, so they thought I was a no show. They would try to fit me in. Needless to say I left. With all the locations in the valley, don't go there. read more

Lucky to get 1 star , after calling corporate and trying to calm down I've decided to post a review. I'm not a customer and never will be . I witnessed the lady working at visionworks tell a blind man his caregiver or whoever the lady was with him that she could not go in with him , the caregiver try explaining but they were not letting her come in the store to help. This is ridiculous ADA should be called and I will be letting them know next this man's rights were violated he has a handicap and is by law allowed assist and visio works denied him!!! I would like to update my review. I was contacted by District Manager, Terry, regarding the issues I encountered at the Goodyear location. Terry apologized and assured me this is not how Visionworks does business and this situation does not represent Visionworks mission, values, or beliefs. Terry sent me to the Arrowhead mall location. The manager Tommy and the rest of the staff at the Arrowhead location were absolutely amazing - The experience I encountered at the Arrowhead mall location was 360 from what I experienced at the Goodyear location.Terry was amazing and went FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND to rectify the situation. Nichole was so kind and went above and beyond to not only service every client that walked through the door, she made a memorable experience. I went in late on Tuesday after having my eyes previously examined. She was the only one working the floor but didn't let it phase her as she assisted at least seven people in the thirty to forty-five minutes I was there. She made it a point to warmly great every shopper that walked in, give them space to shop, ask questions or answer questions to every person at least once, and created a warm environment regardless of how slammed she was. Nichole handled the flow seamlessly, and has made a lifer out of me. Looking forward to next time simply because she was THAT GOOD. read more

Terrible service, they have you wait outside and then note a 5 minute grace period when you are finally able to get inside and be spoken to yet it's impossible to get through on a call. If you have a 5 MINUTE grace period make sure you tend to your customers timely. I waited outside because there were two people waiting at the door who apparently weren't being seen but were waiting for someone but the sign has a max cap sign. Staff was rude and were all over the place. If you have a grace period note that somewhere so that your customers aren't surprised after waiting outside. Would give them a much lower rating if able !! Do not use them. It took over 2 months..yes, two months for contact lenses and still not correct. Saw 3 different doctors and prescription changed every time. I have gone to a Visionworks before with satisfaction but this one is awful. I then paid for the contact exam so I can go elsewhere and still waiting for insurance claim to be amended -this place "couldn't remember " specifics when I followed up with them. And, they can't refund exam even though it's wrong. Very disappointing! Because of their negligent care, I now have to pay again. read more

I had my vision exam and the Dr was great. Once I picked out my glasses though I was surprised to find out they give you the frames off the shelf. I had to prove and show the salesman there was scratches on the frames for him to consider giving me new frames that haven't been on probably a 100 peoples faces! read more

One day I came in to have my eyes checked since I having blurry vision and random headaches especially at the end of the day. I called in and provided them with my name and social number. That time I did not know if I was covered with any vision insurance or not. To make the long story short, they were nice enough to find out for me. They soon did and gave me a call that I have insurance and they can set me up for an appointment with the eye MD. The next day I came in the office. Waiting for 2 minutes in the waiting room and got seen by the doctor right away. It took me like 1 hour to finish all the paperwork, eye check up, sizing for prescription glasses. Overall, I have yet to experience other eye offices or services but based from my own experience, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back to this place after 6 months where eye appointment is next due. read more

We've used Vision works for several years now, so I went into the one at Arrow head to make two appointments. It looked like the staff were busy so I busied myself looking at new frames. I was going to need two pair, a regular and a sunglass pair. My husband would probably get a pair of progressives. One of the employees approached me with a box to put all that were tried on in so they could be washed. A small thing to some people but aside from discouraging the try on as on as if you were at a Walmart, presumably you are walking around the store with a box full of cooties. Just felt insulting and creepy. In this day when the covid money is gone and the hype had been exposed, I just gave up. What was once a pleasant experience is now gone. Ill get my glasses on line before going back there. It was bad enough when these stores jumped on the bandwagon but not knowing when to throw in the towel is condescending and weird. Right or wrong, my wish is that these hangers on eventually go the way of the small businesses that were lost. I just don't have the time for this sort of foolishness anymore read more

Horrible customer service. 1, got told my glasses weren't coming in for 21 days. I call 2 weeks after and they nonchalantly said " oh ya they're here been here for a week, we left a message". No you didn't, or I would've gotten them a week ago. So I go in to get my glasses, they said I only got 1 pair. I paid for 2, but they can't find it anywhere. I go home to check my receipt and can't find it anywhere (just moved) so I clearly cannot prove I paid for TWO when I know I did. A regular pair and back up. I never just get one pair, I always get a back up. (I got kids ya know). But nope. Says I paid for 1, so your telling me I paid $140 for ONE pair of glasses? RUDE EMPLOYEES, treated my wife badly when she called in, and were not professional at all. This is the second time she was trying to order contacts from this location. The first time it took a bunch of calls, because no one returns the calls. Also, no one seems to know what their job is. Finally ONE person was able to find the contacts (which happened to be in stock the whole time) and finally ordered them. Two months later, we call to order more and the "not so sweet" girl on the phone made a comment about how we already needed more after only two months. Listen, It doesn't matter if we are buying contacts then throwing them off a cliff, we are paying for them!!! I wonder if corporate sees these reviews and sees how hard it is for someone to spend money with their company? We asked if our insurance covered them and she RUDELY tried to explain that they wouldn't because of how soon we were trying to reorder them. DONT BE RUDE, WE CAN AFFORD TO ORDER CONTACTS WHENEVER WE WANT. She put us on hold and after one-two minutes of waiting, they hung up on my wife. Never again! I am beyond upset and furious with Visionworks especially at Arrowhead mall. I have had absolutely nothing but problems. I made the terrible decision and switched to Visionworks after being a loyal customer to a wonderful optometrist for 15 years I decided to switch and have NOTHING but negative things to say about this place and there is nothing they do to make me feel any better about this. Today on top of all of other problems with Visionworks I've had, when I went to pickup my glasses that should have been ready, I drove over 45 minutes there and over 45 min back for nothing. My receipt said pickup time and day for TODAY 3pm (I still have my receipt) and I get there almost 4 hours AFTER they should have been there for them to tell me they won't have them until tomorrow now. No call. Nothing. I drove an hour and a half for nothing and now I get to do it tomorrow again. And I get NOTHING for this inconvenience- I'm BEYOND upset and wish I never switched to Visionworks. read more

Traveling through Phoenix on my way to San Diego. I woke up Sunday morning 6/3/2018 to find my classes had broken. One of the nose pad things had gone missing. Looked online and found Visionworks close to where I was staying. Went in but they were REALLY busy. There were only two staff on duty but I only waited about 5 minutes when Donna asked if she could help. I explained the situation and recognized that they were really busy. She said "no problem, please take a seat." There were still about 15 customers in the store so I expected about 30 minutes to wait. No kidding, within 5 minutes she had new pads put on my glasses, recognized that my sunglasses were crooked and adjusted those too. Donna was AMAZING! We arrived yesterday to pick up my sons new glasses there was one girl working the eyeglasses counter area she greeted us right away and let us know it would be a little bit of a wait as she had two customers ahead of us which was fine. We waited about 25 minutes I'd say she called us over asked my son his name (he's 5) and proceeded in getting his glasses she had great interaction and customer service and kept my sons attention, meanwhile customers were coming in, phone was ringing and she kept her cool and greeted each customer as they arrived. I would say Samantha at Visionworks has exceptional customer service and was a great multi tasker and gave the time needed for my son and his new glasses. Thank you! read more

I have been here for two eye exams. The staff is great, and the optometrist is friendly and knowledgeable. However, their eyeglasses are very expensive. You can purchase glasses online for a fraction of the price, and get all of the upgrades for cheaper, too. This isn't necessarily Visionworks' problem, but buyer beware. I only barely got in the front door in my search for someone to make glasses from a prescription when a sales person (not the receptionist) came up and said "we only have one machine working today and one person and we can't do glasses in one day". This was even poorer customer service then I received at the LensCrafters in the same mall - I would never recommend this store to anyone - I don't want to judge the entire chain by this one experience but I can tell you that either customer service isn't their focus or this person flunked the class. read more

I've been a patient here since 2018. I got my very first pair of glasses from here. Even back then, the script was wrong the first time and they had to adjust them for me. Fast forward to now, the staff refuses to give anyone the time of day. You walk in, and you look around waiting for someone to acknowledge you. The doctor and his assistants were very nice and prompt, but as soon as you're with the retail employees, the customer service just plummets. The first lady to help me was older. They really don't care about your vision. It's only about how the glasses look ON you. When she marked the sample frames to measure my pupils, she was shaking and made no distinct spot to measure with. She made a whole squiggly line. I knew I should have questioned it, but I'm no professional so I didn't. A week later, I got notified that they were ready to be picked up. I came in, waited again to be noticed, and stated I was there to pick up frames. The employee grabbed my glasses, handed them to me, and walked right away. She did not stick around to make sure everything was okay. I put them on and looked around with instance fishbowl effect.... but I know it takes time to adjust to new glasses. She did come back around to ask how they felt to which I explained that I wasn't sure yet. She ignored my comment and focused on how good they look ON me.... I gave them a good three days to test them out. But the second I took the glasses off, my eyes felt crossed and my head hurt which is nothing that I've felt with previous glasses. So I went back to them AGAIN. I was not greeted. The first person to acknowledge me was an employee that had just walked in. She had to step in and help me the second she walked in the door because the other employees were ignoring me and the other customers. I even had an appointment. When I was finally officially helped, it took him 5 minutes to realize the measurements were wrong and that they'd need to be adjusted. I get to wait another week for the correct lenses... I cannot say that I'll return to them after that. read more

I would give ethos a negative star if I could - I 100% understand with COVID that there are processes that need to be followed for safety HOWEVER having to wear make while taking the vision tests is highly ridiculous ineffective for accuracy. I pulled my mask down to my chin as glasses were digging up and was scolded and told to put back on - explained couldn't really see - but ok - proceeded with exam and obtaining frames, was told the time frame to expect them back. Fast forward 2 1/2 weeks- receive call stating frames are in and come pick them up - but need to make an appointment to do so - Ok done - first available is 2 weeks out -irritated but realize reduced hours, probably busy, I'll survive 2 more weeks. Go in for my scheduled appointment, gave name at chair blocking entrance, girl came back handed me a bag with my glasses and that was that. I asked if anybody was going to verify that the prescription was ok or make sure they fit properly.. nope. Sure enough one of the prescriptions isn't right at all, perhaps worse than what I had- I guess it is time to go back to private ophthalmologist, sad as both my husband and I have been very happy for the past couple years here, but the extra cost will be worth it if the glasses actually work! read more

The doctor was courteous and thorough in her examination as well as the entire staff. I would highly recommend Dr Racheal Smith at Visionworks in Arrowhead Mall, AZ. Had the best eye exam ever and she took her time with me to make my glasses and contacts fit correctly. I got my glasses on March 5th, and when the girl was wiping off the yellow marks to show the progressive lenses, the stuff she used also wiped off the black on the frames. I did not notice until I was in my car, so I called the store and told the manager (Donna I believe), and she said something mumbled and hung up. So I turned my car around, and went back into the store and the manager says "I said on the phone I would re order the frames and would call you when they come in, you didn't need to come in. I will call you." Well it has been well over a month now and I have gotten no call back. The glasses work perfectly fine, other than having some of the black rubbed off, so I haven't bothered to call back because I am just too busy to get the run around with these people. read more

My wife got a call from this store that her and my sons glasses and contacts were ready for pickup. So I went the next day to go pick them up for her. This was day 1 of the Covid19 quarantine so the store wasn't letting anyone in the store. A lady cracked open the door and asked what I needed. I told her that a gentleman called my wife telling her that her and my sons glasses and contacts were ready to be picked up. She said okay and shut the door. I could see inside that there were delivery boxes stack on the counters and tables. I stood outside with both of my sons for about 5 minutes when she came back to crack the door again to ask the names of the prescriptions again. I told her and she went back inside for another 10 to 15 minutes. She then tells me she couldn't find the packages and then asks me if someone called to say that the glasses were ready for pickup? I told her yes, the day before. She then tells me that the were probably being mailed to my house and shuts the door, without giving me a tracking number or who was delivering the glasses and contacts. So here we are without the glasses and contact that I paid a lot of money for. We tried calling the corporate office to let them know what happened, and they said they'll get in touch with the general manager of the store. A week later they call us back stating that the general manager isn't responding to their calls. This store won't be receiving our business again. Now I have to figure out how to get my money back. read more

I purchased my glasses about 2 weeks ago and after getting them in noticed that they were tight on my head and caused me headaches from the pressure. I went back in a few days ago and the girl did everything she could to get them to be more comfortable, even changing the nose pads. After 2 more days it did not seem better so I went back and the gentleman noticed that the size was likely too small for my head and recommended a larger size. After finding the pair he processed the exchange and refunded the difference. While the new pair are being made I will keep using the originals. Great customer services, stick to the "30 day satisfaction guarantee" and very helpful staff. read more

I've recently changed insurance and my old glasses place doesn't take my insurance anymore so one of the receptionist recommended me to go to Visionworks upstairs because they knew my insurance was taken here. And they fit me in their schedule the same day and It's the best place I've ever been too the Dr was so sweet I asked her what glaucoma and cataracts looked like in an eye and she gladly showed me example images. I picked out my glasses, they had way to many to choose from and when I picked them out I got my glasses with the prescription in them in an hour! This Visionworks is great, I'll continue to go here until I can't anymore. read more
