Came in and verified insurance, had exam, and all of a sudden, as we're ready to leave, they asked for almost $400 more than what I was told on the phone as my co-pay PLUS an additional $45 for a "contact lense training" for a new wearer. Mind you, ALL of what they did, the exam, eyeglass script, and lense fitting (with new contact lenses wearer), would have been $120 each at Costco WITHOUT insurance. They literally LIED to me to guilt me to pay SOMETHING saying they could lose their license if I did not pay for service rendered or if they gave a discount. Not to mention, they were running late and the entire visit lasted longer than a typical Costco visit. What a waste of time and now I have to keep my fingers crossed that I can take my vision benefits to Costco in order to get a contact lens fitting without having to pay twice. Better frame selection at Costco and Eyeglass world as well as other shops.

I visited, rcvd my eye exam, & ordered new glasses on April 23, 2025 The time it took to receive my new lenses was longer than any vision outfit I've ever dealt with...over two weeks, & I'm 75 yrs old! When they arrived my regular lense glasses were fine. My sunglasses were a disaster. A small sliver of the lens just above the bifocal was accurate. The entire top half of the lens was out of focus. The bifocal was so low I had to tilt my head back to even use them. That was two weeks ago. It is June 2, 2025 as of this writing. I called AECC this morning for the status of my reconfigured sunglasses. The CSR could not even tell me if or when they'd be shipped! This is by far the worst new glasses purchase I've ever had. Who knows when I'll have my new sunglasses...properly made? I really loved the staff & the opthalmologist. This review pains me.

I loved so many pairs that choosing was genuinely hard. I ultimately went with a pair of Maui Jims and couldn't be happier. The owners were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable. She is very interested in any questions you have and in solving any eye problems you are having. She is friendly and patient. She tested my eyes thoroughly. Then we discussed glasses options and made a selection. When I got my glasses they were the best I have had in years. There was a slight problem with glancing to the left. I was sent to a doctor in Phoenix who quickly referred me to Dr Maynard, who was an expert with my specialised needs. He was so amazingly excellent and knowledgable. I love the entire staff and have always had the absolute best experiences I was so nervous when Dr. Maynard retired, but Dr. Heffelfinger has continued to give excellent care to us and any nervousness I had about him retiring has vanished. I have absolute zero problem with driving 2.5 hours for my appointments. They are worth it and have always been able to work with my schedule.
