I came here for 2 years because of the location and that it is family owned. However, I stoped going here for a few reasons. 1. Making an appointment was an inconvenient to my schedule. I work 7:00am-3:30pm and the latest appointment they do is 3:15pm. They are open Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm and Fridays 8:00-1:00pm. They do not work Saturdays. 2. I work remotely, a desk job, and my vision would start off fine in the beginning of my day, but a few hours into my day; my vision would get blurry for a few hours, then go back to being fine in the afternoon. The doctor kept testing my vision in the exam room; as in seeing if there was something wrong with my lenses. It turned out my eyes were dry. How can a doctor not know when a patients eye is dry? That is alarming to me. Luckily, he has been patient throughout the process; but is frustrating to see an optometrist who cannot detect dry eyes. 3. If you have an appointment at 12:00, plan to n being there until 1:30pm. The doctor does not see you until 12:45/1:00pm. read more

Dr. Michelle is thorough, professional, and explains in detail what each test is looking for; what's good, what's bad, and what needs watching. My wife and I have been going here for years. We will not go elsewhere and refer all our friends to North Valley Eye Care. My Primary Care Doctor is always looking for the best Medical Professionals to refer his patients to and the first one on my referral list was, and is, Dr. Michelle. I have NEVER had a problem making an appointment with North Valley. I typically schedule my appointments 2 months in advance for a full and complete eye exam. A couple years ago, and just a few months after my annual exam, I had an eye injury that resulted in a visual floater. Dr. Michelle saw me within 24 hours, ran what was normally my full and complete eye exam, which takes about 45 minutes maybe to an hour, and no waiting in the foyer. She gave me a detailed rundown on what happened, why I had the floater, and potential paths I could opt to choose moving forward. While other eye professionals will dilate your eyes to complete a thorough and comprehensive exam, North Valley can perform that same deep eye exam with a highly specialized machine that requires no eye dilation. That translates to being able to head right back to work, play, or your honey-do list even in the middle of the summer in Phoenix. If you are looking for a consummate professional that cares about their patients then you need look no further. Dr. Michelle is amazing!!! Best eye doctors. I see Dr Michelle and my wife sees Dr Justin. They have been our eye doctors for years. Professional, knowledgeable, takes time with patients. They really care and it shows. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Very thorough exams and very accurate diagnosis Dr Michelle treats me for glaucoma, glasses, and cataracts for referral to a surgeon Her recommendation for a cataract surgeon was spot on. I'm really happy with this place, so much so I'm referring friends and family. I've been a customer since Jan 2nd and recently ordered my new glasses while the office was closed... they did a fantastic job of assisting me virtually and giving me the information I needed to get what I needed. As for my prescription, this is the first time I've had the correct prescription in over 3 years, I can finally see! I wasted hundreds of dollars at a place in Anthem industrial area. The team at North Valley Eye Care are friendly, professional & accommodating. I went in today now they are open to get my new glasses tightened and though they are a little too tight I know when I call them they will be happy to loosen them up a little. This was my first visit here for an eye exam and to purchase contacts. Called a few weeks ago and made an appointment and this was the soonest they could get me in so make sure you call in enough time as they are pretty booked up. The office is a great size and very clean. They have a nice waiting area and even a little spot for kids to play. The lady at the front was named Hope and she was super nice and got me all checked in with my new patient paperwork I completed ahead of time by going to their website. She also helped me at the end for my contacts and to go over all my billing options. I appreciated that she answered all my questions even about the contacts and eye wear as well as billing. She was very honest in helping me find the cheapest/best option. For the exam itself the doctor Michelle and assistant (forgot her name:/) were super nice. Dr.Michelle was so personable and asking me how things were going and about my wedding as we were completing the tests. Made things actually fun and enjoyable which is hard to do. You could tell she really loved what she does and was very informative telling me exactly what each test did. They do a very thorough exam too which was nice to insure the prescription is correct. They have a lot of the newest technology so everything was easy and painless. No more stupid air puff in your eye!!!! There was probably 6-7 different tests I did since it was my first time getting contacts but i liked it because they were able to use the variety of tests to insure my prescription was exact. My prior glasses were not the correct prescription as were prescribed by another doctor/office and that's what brought me here, to get things right! Overall the experience was as amazing as I would expect all these 5 star reviews. I'm so glad I came to this office and will make this my new eye doctor. I highly recommend especially if you have VSP! They work excellent with getting tons of discounting prices for VSP insurance. I've been coming here and both doctors are amazing but today all my praise is for Heidi. I went in needed new glasses ASAP thanks to an incident involving my dog and my glasses. I explained that I was getting married in a month and money was super tight and Heidi did an amazing job helping me stay in budget, finding glasses I liked and providing guidance for what lens features were worth the extra money. What was an incredibly stressful experience made me want to walk out in tears of relief. The whole staff here is amazing but Heidi is my hero! read more

Like many folks dread going to the dentist, I dread going to the eye doctor. However, the level of technology the doctors utilize makes the entire exam very unobtrusive, which is a MUST for me. My appointment was with Dr. Justin and he did a great job of explaining things throughout. I didn't "need" glasses but chose to get a pair for reading so I don't have to take them on and off all day at work. They are a little pricey and I knew that going in. However, Dr. Justin at no time made me feel I had to purchase from them. He left that decision up to me and I appreciated the lack of "hard sell" by him and the staff. Because of this visit, I no longer dread going to the eye doctor and will definitely return next year for an annual visit. read more

The best eye care in the valley! I have a very rare eye condition that other optometrists in the past have disregarded and treated me on the basis that I can only see out of one eye, but thanks to Dr. Michelle and her determination, she worked on promoting the vision I do have in my other eye as well! I had come in with debilitating migraines and they were cut by at least 80% thanks to her care and willingness to take the time and work with me! I love this place. My daughter had to get glasses when she was 3 and being someone who never had to wear glasses herself, it felt very foreign to be responsible for glasses and what it all entailed. I absolutely love everyone at north valley eye care. The doctors do a great job with kids. It's extraordinary!!! They have top notch choices for kids, and incredible insurance plans for scratched lenses and broken frames. I tried to go to a cheaper place and it was a waste of money and time. Dr. Michelle Kohls is our new eye doctor and I was so appreciative of the time she spent with me on my first appt. to discuss my concerns with upgrading to newer technology contacts. I had been wearing the same brand and type for over a decade! Michelle is very pleasant and concerned with your general well being. Her clinician was probably the most skilled I have ever experienced, obviously not just a front office person trained to run optical machines, she really knew her stuff. Let's just say I had some weird contact problems and they were willing to put me back into my old brand. Also, I needed a different pair of glasses then I originally ordered and they also were willing to trade those out. Rectifying both issues without an additional cost to me was very kind. I'm so dissapointed!! I had to wait a day to cool off. My family has been seeing Drs Justin & Michelle since our move from San Diego (4+yrs) Although, I always felt like I was being sold when it came to frames Drs Justin & Michelle have always been amazing and know what they are doing. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was "the straw that broke the camels back" with the office staff. My sons glasses broke. I scheduled an appointment and since he couldn't see very well and back in school I asked to be put on the cancelation call list. An appointment cancelled I accepted the date & time of 9am. 20min before my sons appointment I called (8:40am). I believe I spoke with Tricia. I let her know I was running late & I would be 5-10min late had to get my son checked out of school (I can't foresee traffic & office delays). She said "no problem we will see you then". We arrive running through the door at 9:19am and I was told he had to be rescheduled. I understand policy etc....what made me so upset was that I called 20min before my appointment to let them know I was going to be late (the appointment was very important) I was NOT aware of policy & I was NOT told or given a courtesy "if you are late 15min you will be rescheduled". I was told "I'm sorry. As you can see we are busy, but I'd be happy to reschedule you" no thank you. They lost 4 patients!! read more

Just retired and moved to Anthem so we didn't have a local eye doctor yet. Was having trouble with what I thought was a scratched contact lens. Called them and was able to get an appointment on the same day never having been a patient there before! Turned out I had a foreign object lodged in my cornea so I was very fortunate they were able to see me right away. Great care, all healed now thanks to Dr. Michelle Kohl. My wife and I have both seen Dr. Justin Kohl since for checkups. We continue to be very impressed with ease of scheduling, quality of care, patient answers to questions, never feel rushed, etc. Really great providers who care about their patients and have wonderful staff as well.
