What an awesome office experience! Dr. Hollenbach was very thorough and professional. She didn't rush through my exam. I felt like she answered all my questions and took care of all my needs. There was never a feeling that she was in a hurry and I felt very comfortable through the entire process. Great and friendly staff especially Donna from beginning to the end of my visit. read more

Dr. Hollenbach is one of the most caring eye doctors around. Her exams are thorough and her recommendations are excellent. She is patient and takes tome to be thorough and explain what recommendations she has. You never feel hurried and feel that you have her full attention when doing an exam. Great customer service and care. Just the best there is. read more

Dr. Hollenbach is awesome and highly knowledgeable. Everyone I interacted with on her staff was great too. It seems like every time I go to see the eye doctor the technology they have gets more advanced or she just happens to have the latest equipment. The office is fairly large and clean. They share the space with a few other eye related doctors that also seem great based on all their awards and celebrity endorsements posted on the walls. They do have some frames for you to browse through. It's definitely not the largest selection I've seen but they do have mostly designer frames. I didn't know that my insurance covered contact exams as my last one didn't so I was pleased when I was told that I would be receiving a credit when I picked up my contacts. I also got 4 boxes included in my coverage and they knew this when I was placing my order. I loved that they knew my insurance policy and was honest. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a great Optometrist, I know I'll be back next year! read more

I relocated to Central Phoenix and found Scottsdale Eye care. I have been a patient 2 or 3 years now and really love the office and feel grateful to have found them. Dr. Hollenbach is thorough and explains things well. She is also very engaged with her patients and seems to genuinely care. The staff is excellent as well. If you are lucky enough to work with Donna when picking out your glasses you will have an amazing experience. I am indecisive and she really listens and provides honest feedback. She is also very precise and goes above and beyond to make you feel like a valued patient and customer. This year my routine visit fell during the pandemic and I was able to schedule to be the first patient of the day. Everything is being cleaned and sanitized and masks are worn throughout the office. I felt very safe there. read more

The prices at Scottsdale Eye care are more than fair. read more

Wish I could give this place more stars because the Dr. is great; however, the office just isn't run very well. I have waited more than 30 minutes for my appointment on both visits. On my last visit, I was offered an email prescription instead of a paper copy. It seemed like a great idea at the time, until I waited more than a day to receive it and had to call to have it sent, along with a copy of my receipt. Patrick seemed annoyed that I was calling and made me feel as if I were making an unreasonable request to obtain it so soon after my appointment. Side note: I've never been asked if I want to look at frames. Strange, because there's a large display. One would think that's extra business for the practice, but maybe not. read more

I've been very pleased with Dr. Hollenbach and her staff at Scottsdale Eye Care. I've been going there for three years, I believe. Her office is small but very clean, nicely designed, with a good selection of frames on display. The last couple times I was there, a sweet, old, blind dog was walking around the waiting area. (I couldn't help but joke about the irony of a blind dog at an optometrist's office.) The office is never, ever busy, and I mean that in a good way. The women that work at the front desk are super friendly and helpful, and they know what they're doing with insurance. Before I found this place, I made the mistake of getting contacts at Lenscrafters and they must've really screwed something up insurance-wise, because with the same coverage, I pay less than half what Lenscrafters charged me. The equipment at Scottsdale Eye Care seems to be modern and up-to-date. Dr. Hollenbach is friendly, and always gives me samples of eye drops or solution. And I'm always in and out very quickly. I generally am only there for my once-a-year exam, but oddly, it's almost something I look forward to. I always opt for the additional tests, because I like to know that my eyes are 100% healthy. I would highly recommend Dr. Hollenbach. (She even knows my primary care doctor, Dr. Pozun at Lifescape, from Mayo, and I also highly recommend her... Office is across the parking lot!) read more

Dr. Hollenbach is a saint. Super smart, very thoughtful, and just an overall pleasant person to be around. Been her patient for about three years now and visiting her office never feels like some austere, impersonal experience. True to nature's cosmic equilibrium, as my eyesight worsens, our friendship grows. read more

I find the reviews that state the staff or waiting time was to be completely inaccurate! The staff at Scottsdale Eye Care is quite friendly and very helpful. They acknowledge you warmly and go out of their way to be helpful. I have never waited more than 15 minutes before being brought back for eye tests and never more than 10 minutes to see the doctor. I agree with Michele W's statement about Scottsdale Eye Care having all of the latest technology. They do -I had testing at Barrows Neurological Opthomologgy and Scottsdale Eye Care has all of the same up to date equipment! I am a patient of Dr Sorenson - she's at Scottsdale Eye Care on specific days. She is a wonderful doctor and I could not be happier with the care I receive. Dr Sorenson is extremely engaging, professional and very down to earth. She spends a great deal of time explaining the results of any testing that you may have in terminology that the common person with no medical training can understand. When doing so she clearly explains in a manner many doctors no longer take the time to do. She's professional, knowledgeable and very caring I highly recommend her! read more

Went to go and see Dr. Cathreine Hollenbach for the first time yesterday. I really like her. I am very picky with my doctors and I must say that she is definitely a doctor I will continue to see! Everyone in the office is super nice. If you are looking for a an eye doctor, I must recommend Dr. Hollenbach! read more

I tend to view businesses in terms of the people they hire to represent them to the public. If the doctor's expertise is at the same relative level of those she hires to process new patients. best of luck to those who seek treatment. First. Kudos to the Dr. for her service to our country. Presumably her bio is not as inaccurate as the on line picture of her office. Her staff told me that her office does not look anything like the picture. Who to believe? Given the above, why did I schedule an appointment? Because her online bio cites military service. As I followed the instructions I was given to find her office, I repeatedly described my route to her office worker who was providing directions. After 20 minutes of following her directions, I surrendered to the possibility, that a good Dr. does not know enough about business to hire front line staff that can actually do the job. I have no knowledge of the Dr.'s qualifications (who to believe?) or her expertise (I canceled when her staff couldn't direct me to her office.). I do know that I will never entrust my vision to her. read more

I have been coming here for several years now. I can't recommend Dr. Hollenbach and her staff enough. They always give great service and also make sure I can see stuff so that's pretty awesome. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Hollenbach for many years and I was so pleasantly surprised when I found her. She is super nice and actually cares about the WHOLE patient...even though she's only checking your eyes. I have found her to be very knowledgeable and more than willing to answer any questions I have. She often goes above and beyond in my treatment just to make sure that my eyes are well cared for, and I always feel informed on my options. I highly recommend her. read more

Wonder service! :D I recommend this place to everyone. Best place for eye care in Scottsdale.

I totally agree with Lisa S. I have been a patient of Dr. Hollenbach for a few years now, and have always been very pleased with the care I have received. She and her staff have always been totally professional and competent. I just returned from my appointment, and I waited less than 10 minutes after arrival, most of which was spent reviewing and correcting personal information in my file (I had moved since my last appointment). I highly recommend Dr. Hollenbach for anyone looking for a high quality eye care practice in the area. read more

I am very happy with the care, concern, and time that I received during my appointment. Donna did my pre-exam and she was gentle, calm, and thorough. Dr. Hollenbach was careful, considerate, and very reassuring. I have a certain pathology in my eyes that usually makes optometrists exams very uncomfortable and stressful for me. This was not the case with Dr. Hollenbach. I cannot possibly state how much I love this doctor. She was very thorough, smart, and listened to me, my concerns, my lifestyle, and what I wanted. I trust Dr. Hollenbach. My glasses fit me perfectly and suit me perfectly. Wonderful experience! read more

Just got back from Scottsdale Eye Care and Dr. Hollenbach. These reviews confuse me. One, Dr. Hollenbach is the only optometrist for Scottsdale Eyecare, though maybe Dr Shorb is in the rest of the building, as she shares space? Never heard of him. She doesn't do Lasik, so I'm not sure who John D is talking about. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment (been going to Dr. Hollenbach since 2002 with a family of 4). Her office is located in the office park on the corner of Raintree and the 101...not very hard to find...makes me wonder about the navigational skills of the person who couldn't find it... and please don't questions someone's military service and ability because you can't google directions. Really?? And the pictures on her website are of her old office building. She does graciously offer to host interns in her practice, so they can get some real experience. As a small business owner, who has employed interns in the past, I know that it is more of a service we provide to them, than "free" labor for us. It's hard and time consuming to train someone from scratch and just when they learn the ropes, they are moving on. Which is why many interns struggle to find a business willing to hire interns. Kudos on Dr. Hollenbach for her both her service to her country and to her future fellow optometrists! Anyways, always super courteous and friendly. Excellent eye care. Highly recommend!! read more

I have to say this is the best experience I have ever received at an Eye care center. If I could give it 6 stars I would. The customer service is impeccable, the technology used here avoids me from needing to get my eyes dilated, and the employees here are beyond friendly. Dr Hollenbach is the best! She will take the time to listen to you about your eye care concerns and doesn't mind explaining or educating you on your eyes if you show interest. If I ever relocate I greatly miss this place. I can not say enough positive things about my experience here. read more

Awesome all around. Everyone was great, nice and professional! This is my spot too go too for now on. Their machines are more up too date, and the doctors are very smart, and quick, and actually like getting too know the patient as well. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this practice! I have been coming here for the past few years and the staff is always so nice, and Dr Hollenbach is the best. She is very knowledgable and so nice, and always takes the necessary time with you to resolve any issues or concerns you may have. She even squeezed my neice into the schedule one time when she had pink eye! I always feel like i got the best, most thorough exam possible when I come here. They also have the new technology where they can take a picture of the back of my eye and I don't have to be dilated if I don't want to! Highly recommend! read more

Dr. Catherine Hollenbach & staff are polite, friendly & professional. Best place for eye care in Scottsdale.

I have been a patient for 10 years and cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Hollenbach. She is extremely knowledgable and spends time with you to ensure that she does not miss anything. Like other reviewers have said, she cares not only about your eyes but the patient as well. Her professionalism is surpassed only by her compassion and gentle manner. read more

Being treated/outfitted by Dr. Hollenbach is a real pleasure. She is positive and obviously loves doing what she does and treating patients. She is a magician at figuring out what a patient's prescription should be; she does the testing herself and takes real care to figure things out. She has an excellent, friendly staff which has time for her patients. I'm not criticizing other operations; I'm just highly recommending this one. If you have an opportunity to be treated by Mary Poppins, why not take advantage of it. read more

I would like to update a previous review. Although it has been 5 months and I am still waiting, I was very impressed and appreciative to receive a call from Dr. Hollenbach. today. Although there have been glitches and confusion with the front office staff and biller, (My insurance does bear some responsibility) Dr .Hollenbach has assured me - now that all the correct paperwork has been submitted to my insurance, she and her current staff are doing and have been doing everything, (plus some) they can to help the claim move through insurance processing. She has made sure to provide me with safe and current contact lenses until we all hear the final word and I can order my year supply. It was clear to me that Dr. Hollenbach was concerned about the health of my eyes, as well as the quality of the patient care she and her staff provided. I feel that the Doctor reaching out to me personally is a sign of quality patient care. She and Her current front office staff have been nothing but apologetic. read more
