I never knew you could feel a bait and switch going to a doctor, but we sure did! Called to inquire about co-pay while debating between visiting them and visiting Costco and wanted to confirm that it would in fact just be a better idea to establish as a patient at a doctors office but clarified that we needed a contact lens fitting. Came in and verified insurance, had exam, and all of a sudden, as we're ready to leave, they asked for almost $400 more than what I was told on the phone as my co-pay PLUS an additional $45 for a "contact lense training" for a new wearer. Mind you, ALL of what they did, the exam, eyeglass script, and lense fitting (with new contact lenses wearer), would have been $120 each at Costco WITHOUT insurance. They literally LIED to me to guilt me to pay SOMETHING saying they could lose their license if I did not pay for service rendered or if they gave a discount. Not to mention, they were running late and the entire visit lasted longer than a typical Costco visit. What a waste of time and now I have to keep my fingers crossed that I can take my vision benefits to Costco in order to get a contact lens fitting without having to pay twice. Better frame selection at Costco and Eyeglass world as well as other shops. read more

As wonderful as my initial review was when I first did business with AECC, after more than one month, I have been more than disappointed. I visited, rcvd my eye exam, & ordered new glasses on April 23, 2025 The time it took to receive my new lenses was longer than any vision outfit I've ever dealt with...over two weeks, & I'm 75 yrs old! When they arrived my regular lense glasses were fine. My sunglasses were a disaster. A small sliver of the lens just above the bifocal was accurate. The entire top half of the lens was out of focus. The bifocal was so low I had to tilt my head back to even use them. That was two weeks ago. It is June 2, 2025 as of this writing. I called AECC this morning for the status of my reconfigured sunglasses. The CSR could not even tell me if or when they'd be shipped! This is by far the worst new glasses purchase I've ever had. Who knows when I'll have my new sunglasses...properly made? I really loved the staff & the opthalmologist. This review pains me. read more

I went in for my usual yearly eye examination and I'm impressed by the level of care all the staff and doctor provided. The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in. New patients are required to have dilation or the fundus photography that captures images back of the eye. Dr. Alsadi went through a comprehensive exam and thoroughly checked my eyes. He even gave me eye drop sample to take home for irritation and redness. After the exam, the staff went above and beyond to assist in finding a frame for me. read more

AMAZING eye care. I've worn glasses/contacts since I was 12 and I've never had better care plus customer service. Even from the first phone call the receptionist was SO nice and genuine. They got me in very last minute for one of the last appointments of the evening. Everyone was so friendly in the entire office! Dr. Johnson and his office staff are amazing! I am very picky about my eye doctors because I need my eye exam to be very accurate since past experiences, they didn't get my vision measures quite right so I wasn't able to see 100%. With Dr. Johnson everything changed, they have never gotten it anymore accurate. Plus their customer service is awesome. I feel so welcome because the staff is amazingly friendly. They remember you as a patient and they make you feel like you matter. They make sure you get all your concerns addressed and taken care of. They don't make you wait for more than five minutes. They have a wide variety of designer frames. I love their selection. The opticians take their time to find you the right frame and they make sure you walk out satisfied with the choice you make. Advanced is the best eye care facility I've ever used, hands down. I refer everyone to them. I brought my mom in and recently sent a friend and my niece. The staff is friendly and more than helpful. I have been going to Target Optical for years, despite most of the time they were considered out of network for me. I love Target Optical and have never had any problems.This year, however, I had a baby and decided to go somewhere in network to save a few dollars. It was an early appointment, at 8:20am, the only one they had open. I live in north phoenix and am breastfeeding a teething baby. I knew it would be difficult for me to have an appointment at that time, but decided to try my best. (Had to do a 3am night feeding in addition to wake up early to pump milk before I left). I walked into the office at 8:32am. They refused to see me because I was "past the 10 minute window". BY 2 MINUTES. I also want to add that nowhere on any of their paperwork (I showed up with my paperwork already printed AND COMPLETED) or website does it say anything about this 10 minute window. I also received no phone call at 8:30 wanting to reschedule. I spoke with the office manager and she supported the decision to refuse service to me even after I explained my long drive from far North Phoenix and breastfeeding obligations. I guess if you are wanting to try this office, don't dare show up 11 minutes late, no matter the excuse, and you might have a good experience. For me on the other hand, I would not go to this office if they were the last optical office in the valley. I would rather go to Target where they have always been great to me, even if I show up 11 minutes late. read more

Front office staff is friendly & made me feel at home. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable ambience. The eye-tech was polite and competent although she did keep me waiting an extra half hour due to a patient call. Doctor was pleasant & I trust he's been an optometrist for years. I was alone when selecting frames and the tech who was supposed to guide me through frame selection provided very little feedback on frames I tried on. She really was not very helpful. I think my glasses would cost about the same at Nationwide or Pearle, etc and they would have a wider selection of frames and much better optician services. My family has been coming here to Dr Johnson for quite a few years now and have always been happy with the level of care we receive. The staff is always warm, friendly and inviting! Unfortunately with getting on in my years I have been catapulted into the world of the sight challenged community, and Dr Johnson and his staff have been here to keep my eyesight in check! They offer quite the selection of frames, I will say they are not as easy on the pocket as Walmart and Costco but they are fashionable. One draw back is that they change out the lines they carry to keep up with trends and when I wanted to keep the frames I had purchased there previously I was told they wouldnt be guaranteed if anything happened to them, leaving me having to purchase more frames. Dr Johnson is not an opthalmologist so when I needed care for my glaucoma I had to be referred out to one. Other than this I would recommend this eye care place for all your eye care needs! read more
