It's no surprise this gem of a bakery sells out its muffins by early afternoon. We finally got around to trying this small bakery the other day and it did not disappoint. There was only one type of muffin left (something with molasses) and quite frankly I was a little reluctant but since I was committed to the tuna sandwich that popped up in my IG feed, we gave it a go. Amazing! Even the tuna was top notch. Finished the meal off with their pound cake and granola to snack on while driving home. Now I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu. Oh and we got to meet the owners.. no wonder this place shines.. amazing food and customer service to match! read more

I am not sure how long this place has been around but this has to be one the best small coffee and bakery cafes I've been too (and New England has so many hidden gems). The coffee appears to come from Tandem Coffee (a coffee roaster up in Portland, Maine) which was superb (had their drip coffee and a shot of espresso on the side to try both). The breakfast sandwich and muffin I had were equally amazing. The service was attentive and very friendly (don't always find that in privately run bakeries). Love the egg sandwiches, coffee & treats, and the staff are delightful. It's clean, nice decor, and friendly. But at popular times of day, it's too hectic & has a lot of bumping into you/them crowded jostle. I think the layout needs a bit of a rethink to better handle traffic flow. Maybe even have people taking orders out front like they do at Clover, or apps & self-admin spots like BGood or Bon Me as examples. read more

Yummm, that was good. Just sampled the wares at Vinal, very nice. Started with the GOAT on a classic English muffin -- and it was really is as good as everyone says. Just a great mix of flavors and textures, basic stuff but fresh and tasty. The blueberry muffin has a nice glaze, tons of fresh blueberries (seems like those smaller wild Maine berries), had it with a side of delicious maple butter. Prices aren't cheap, but basically what you'd expect. Wasn't that crowded, even on a Sunday morning, but that probably won't last, with food this good.... read more

The food at Vinal Bakery is delicious, and the environment is nice (but very crowded) in non-COVID times. I particularly love the GOAT and the Miss Maple breakfast sandwiches, which I think are pretty popular all around. Their baked goods and lattes are also very good but I've only had them once. Ordering online is easy, but there's usually a pretty long wait because they're so popular, so make sure you order before you go/get hungry! read more

This place is incredible- I just discovered it I've been there 3 times in 2 weeks. I love the breadth of breakfast sandwich flavors they'll add to an already-generously-sized english muffin. Small place, so usually no seating during weekend brunch, but the service is incredibly fast. If it's a weekend after 1pm, I recommend taking your muffin sandwich down the street to the Bantam cidery (they're BYOFood) to enjoy with a cider! read more

This is my favorite spot for breakfast and coffee in the Cambridge/Somerville area. Flavor is out if this world in almost every sandwich and they are incredibly creative with the specials. I've been wanting to check out Vinal's new digs since they opened this brick & mortar, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. The breakfast sandwiches (we tried the classic & Sam I Am) were fresh, made to order, and so delicious, and we ordered an extra bag of English muffins and some of their homemade granola to go. The English muffins ARE incredible... probably why I keep going back despite the few experiences I have had being less than great. The people are nice there, and the food is pretty good, that's not my issue. My issue is that it'll set a person back 10+ dollars for a very small sandwich and a small, less-than-stellar espresso drink. I've tried a hot mocha and an iced maple latte, and both times the espresso tasted burnt. The mocha was flavored by a chocolate ganache, which is a cool touch, but the combination of the burnt coffee and the bitter ganache made it unpleasant to drink. The iced maple latte kind of just tasted like sweet, burnt iced coffee. I got the Archie sandwich twice, and the first time the sandwich was stuffed with Pb, marshmallow creme, and those delicious sweet and salty peanuts! Truly worth the $5+ I was paying. The one today was mostly just English muffin with a small smear of each topping and barely any nuts. Really disappointing because the Archie is GOOD. I really want to love this place, but if I'm paying $10+ for a coffee and sandwich before tip, I want it to be good and consistent. read more
