I got breakfast for the s/o because he loves his breakfast and I wanted coffee. He was surprise how good the sandwich was. So good, he gave me one bite and ate the whole thing. How funny. The coffee was mid. First coming in, it was a cute, quaint place. The ordering area/ menu area is kinda dim. The egg wich items is a build your own type of deal. I would come again for the food.

Such a wonderful hole-in-the-wall. Seriously, I mean that with all the best intention. It is an iconic spot for BMC-era. Not only is it literally a hole in the wall ... very small, it's also so yummy and so reasonably priced. The service is always quick and pretty consistent. They have a pretty vast menu for being so small and so busy, and it really works for them. I love to treat myself to one of their sandwiches when I'm working, as well as one of their world famous chocolate chip cookies. Drool!!! They're actually not world famous, but they definitely should be. Probably the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had.

Pickup for breakfast sandwiches - they're HUGE! My partner got bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I got the same but on an English muffin. Sandwiches were good - could use more bacon for such a big portion of egg. Cute lil place!

Been coming here for years and it's always awesome. I've tried most of the menu but always end up with either the Big Papi or the Bird sandwich. Both are pressed paninis and are lights out. Today ended up with the daily special which is chicken, aioli and jalapeño chips crunched in there and it's outrageous. Unfortunately the panini just doesn't photo well and does not do it justice but it was awesome. Washed it down with two homemade chocolate chip cookies and left very happy. Highly recommend if you're ever in the Southend!

Wow, reflecting on an overnight in the area- walked over from hotel and knew I picked the right place when I saw the huge lunch crowd picking up at window. Short time later I got the most delicious sandwich, making my mouth drool a bit just thinking about it! The spicy bird or something like that and a feta salad. Saw this is a 2 time Guy Fieri Diners Drivein and Dive spot. Go check them out!

Multitude of unique and delicious sandwich options. I would recommend looking up menu ahead of time because it's tiny inside and the list of options is a bit overwhelming. Latte was solid. Small but nice outside tables. Owner came out to greet us and was lovely (woman-owned!).

Such a yummy lunch spot around Boston University's medical campus! The sandwiches are to die for, and to make it even better they let me "build my own" :) it was perfectly melted and delicious. Baguette was a 10/10. The service, espresso, and lemonade were great too. The ambiance and outside seating were perfect to relax on your lunch break. Couldn't recommend more!!!

    The Bird on Fire Sandwich

Blunch is a solid brunch place! I got The Bird on Fire, which was delicious. I do think it should be spicier though given they have the regular version for people who don't like spicy and isn't spicy. The bread was nice and crispy but not hard, and the chicken and veggies was good. I do wish there was a bit more filling, but I just like thicker sandwiches haha. Currently rated 4/5, and will come back to try a different sandwich!

Delicious! Happened to walk by here and remembered coming across Blunch on Yelp. Cute outdoor seating and the sandwiches are amazing! We got the smoked salmon pressed panini and the chicken panini. The chicken was melt-in-your mouth cooked to perfection. The smoked salmon wasn't quite what I expected, but it was tasty nevertheless. Will definitely be coming back here. Pro tip: order in advance online if you're coming during lunch hours, place gets busy!

Guy Fieri has been here! Location: what a cute spot. On the corner of a side street. Small. Very small. Limited spots inside, maybe like 4 seats. There's outdoor seating too. Easy to get to by bus. Bus stop right down the street. Parking: street parking. Attire: it's a cafe, not a fashion show. Food: fresh so fresh. Was told their chocolate chip cookie sells out by lunchtime everyday. For good reason. Decadent, and flavorful. They do not skimp. Coffee was fresh and strong. Price: decent. It's what you expect from a cafe coffee shop! Overall: definitely give it a try. It's very small business. The coffee is good, food and dessert as well. Not a place you'd go out the way for but if you're in the area or driving by conveniently definitely stop by!

If you want the best sandwiches in Boston, this is sincerely the only place to go. There's so many options and types of burgers, bagel-sandwiches and sandwiches. You know it's good when Guy Fieri has reviewed the place and had more than one sandwich that's recommended by him. I got the Boca sandwich and the creamy cheese with the fresh veggies and crisp baguette was the ultimate combo.

The Best in food in this area! I don't know how they do it in such a small area but they do! I have been coming here since they opened! Great food , Service , and ambiance! Mostly takeout only seats 5 inside but great fresh foods !

I went with two scoops, black raspberry and brownie chocolate, and the brownie was killer. Rich, chocolatey, and totally worth standing outside in 30 degree weather to eat it. I said, "Yes please, I'd like M&Ms." The server, and another person working behind the counter, both told me that they just ran out of M&Ms. They didn't have any more. This was weird to me. As I was walking to the the shop, I passed a person who had a small cup of ice cream with both m&m's and oreo topping. Okay, I thought. That's weird but so be it. Then, I scootch over to look at the rest of the toppings and what do I see? M&Ms. I point out the M&M's to the employee and ask, "hey, aren't those M&M's?" They mumbled something back that I didn't exactly catch. They either said "those are closed" or "those are skittles" or "it's not those". "those are closed" makes no sense because they asked if I wanted toppings and it was 2 and a half hours before they closed. "those are skittles" makes no sense because they don't carry skittles as a topping... The whole experience was perplexing to me. Anyways, JP Licks is pretty overrated and too expensive. $6.5+ for the smallest size is not worth it. They have some decent flavors (cookies n' cake batter) though and the ice cream is usually pretty well executed and not icy. still, not really a place i'd recommend and won't be going back for a while after this freak incident. Attached photos are the proof that they had M&Ms. Note the "M" on the candy and the blue colored candies (they don't make blue skittles)

We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
