I ordered the pistachio croissant, which was perfectly crispy on the outside, creamy inside, with a subtle pistachio flavor, and it was so aesthetically pleasing. Their Vietnamese coffee was strong, rich in flavor and I went with 50% less sweet, which made it very bold. The avocado blend was my favorite drink of the two I tried. I loved how creamy it was with the coffee beautifully swirled in. Also got the beef sandwich, and it did not disappoint. I've been wanting to go here for a long time and I finally made the effort to go. So worth it I went in the morning. There's no line definitely recommend the beef croissant sandwich. I always see a line when I'm driving down the street so I highly recommend if you guys can order ahead to beat the line. Park we parked on the side by TTH sandwiches and walk to the front so is side parking or back parking. I also added an extra shot of espresso in my coconut coffee and avocado coffee drink and made it 50% sweet so it is still a little sweeter even with 50% sweet. Then I ordered drinks to go coconut Matcha blended with extra Matcha. And also the Matcha coffee and a regular Vietnamese coffee. Hope those taste just as good. read more

At only $0.75 each or $8 for a dozen, they're an incredible deal and dangerously easy to keep ordering more. I also tried the coffee and croissant sandwich combo for $10.50, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich is very similar to a bánh mì, but with a buttery, light, and flaky croissant instead of a baguette, which makes it feel extra indulgent. I loved the specs of coconut that was in it and that you could adjust your milk, as well. The sweetness was just right with no level of sweetness added! I wish LA could get this type of drink right! I'm tired of matcha foam on top of coconut water (which is the closest drink that some places will get to Viland's young coconut matcha latte!) Finally tried Viland for their fresh-to-order beignets. The texture was good, but they could be crispier with more powdered sugar. Drinks were mid overall, though they have a good variety. Orange County has no shortage of amazing coffee spots, and Viland is definitely one of them. When I stopped by on a recent Sunday, the line was out the door, but it moved quickly. By the time I reached the cashier, I already knew I wanted to try the matcha coffee. Despite the crowd, my drink was ready in about 5-7 minutes, which was totally reasonable. It came topped with an adorable mini croissant and it was super aesthetic. I wish I had come with friends so we could sample more of their pastries, but that just gives me a reason to return. They were having their 1 year anniversary BOGO deal for their tofu matcha this past Saturday so I stopped by for that. I heard there was a photo booth but I missed it. My friends and I got in line towards the end/corner or the building and we got to the door in 35 minutes, then waited about 5 min at the door to order at the kiosk. Someone that looks like the owner was at the door making sure to guide people in line to the kiosk and also the register to order. There is one row of bar seating, and around 7-9 tables inside and I think it would be a nice spot to come study or chat with friends on a regular business day (since I went for their anniversary it was hectic). Even though it was a crazy day for the employees, I saw them check every receipt when a customer was called to pick up their order which means they are making sure all orders are picked up correctly. My friend ordered a box of beignets and they were fluffy and delicious! Just fyi they are much bigger than the ones on display. They also had other pastries. I really wanted to try the Pistachio croissant but I didnt order it because after all the wait I wanted to get out of there. I also saw tiny mini croissants that were sooo cute. The Uji matcha with the sweet tofu was good. It was my first time trying dessert tofu. Im not a big fan of the texture but it wasnt bad either. Decided to try their pandan coffee latte and 2 beignets. Usually the pandan is a foam at other places, but here, it's a pandan milk which did make the drink more of a true latte. I realized after I ordered, I could've added a mini croissant to my drink for $0.85 - cute idea! I wondered if they toast it for you, so perhaps next time I'll remember it when I stop by. I'm not sure if it's because I had ordered the beignets with sugar on the side, but they made them fresh and more than happy to wait the additional 5 minutes for them. It was a little too doughy for me, so glad there was an individual portion to try. Strawberry flavor is there without tasting artificial. Matcha is smooth. Great option to pick! - Peach Tea: I wasn't a fan of this one, but there was a strong peach flavor. Unfortunately, it was also very floral but not in a good way -- almost like perfume for me. Also, got this 75% ice but it looks quite a lot of ice still. I would skip this drink for now. - Uji Matcha Tofu (not pictured): Interesting combo when you first hear it, but it works! Think of the flavor of a matcha latte with a soy milk substitute. This drink is essentially a matcha latte with tofu pudding as a topping. Like I've reviewed their other matcha drinks, very solid options and flavors! Overall, it's a very nice and new shop. I think that they are one of the better local cafes with great matcha drinks. Other drinks are more hit or miss. I recently discovered this new Vietnamese coffee house - Viland Cafe. And I have to say, the coffee here is incredible -- love the strong coffee (so more "aka crack coffee") to try!!! Viland Coffee House offers the traditional cà phê sữa đá (iced milk coffee) and that thick egg coffee. There are other concoctions to add to the latte like matcha, pandan, coconut, etc. The space is cozy (aka tight) and has big windows giving the brightness so perfect for hanging out or catching up with friends -- all the seats were taken so I ended up ordering togo. Since they're new, the service is still finding its rhythm, so don't be surprised if things take a little longer than usual. The drinks seem out of arrangement ...I see customers who had ordered way before still waiting for their foods and those that ordered after me got their coffee before mine. Sadly, I came to try their famous pistachio-cream croissant. The shop was sold out by 2PM -- and all was left was a display as a teaser. ^-^ I ordered the matcha coffee latte and the pandan latte (where the pandan flavored was served at the bottom).
