Loooove, with a capital (HEART) . I had the grilled vegetable salad with salmon(medium) and it was cooked to perfection. The Cilantro dressing was the cherry on top. Who says you can't enjoy eating healthy. I loved every bite. I WILL BE BACK!! read more

I took my department of 9 and their spouses to Via Real for dinner on 12/5/12. This was my first trip. The food and service were truly wonderful. Ask for Jeronimo for a server! He made the evening perfect and made us feel at home. My wife's special "flaming" 6 oz. Filet and my Chilean sea bass were great! Definitely will return to Via Real. read more

Excellent brunch here! I came while between a four hour layover at DFW and am glad that I did. They offer a nice variety of both traditional brunch and tex-mex offerings, and the decor inside is open and comfortable. read more

This close to work so we decided to order to go. The food is average but pricey. The chips were greasy and average salsa. Small serving of guac for $7 which was average. Not a place to go unless your desperate for Mexican food. read more

My family and I went for brunch on the final day of our "staycation." The 99 cent mimosas were great and the selection of food was wonderful. Made-to-order omelets and other traditional breakfast items were tasty, but I would have enjoyed grits on the line. The mexican food on the buffet was good but left a little to be desired. The enchiladas were chewy but the tamales were spot-on. Really good salsa, chips, and guacomole, though. The desserts were really good, especially the flan and key lime pie. The one thing that they did best was the coffee. I could not get over how good i thought the coffee was. The thing that the restaurant did exceptionally was the service. I wish I could remember his name, but the young man was Johnny on the spot and he did everything with a smile. The food, service, mimosas, and coffee would certainly bring us back again. read more

Was in town for a week and wanted to try authentic Mexican food while in Texas. Was a little hesitant because it seems like an upscale expensive Mexican place but it turned out to be pretty good. I'm vegetarian so the waiter took his time explaining all the vegetarian items on the menu. I ended up getting the Quesadillas...delicious!! My wife got the spinach Enchilladas.. .they were okay. Overall, would definitely go there again if I'm in Texas. read more

Worst service ever! Completely forgot our order; a lunch took almost two hours (2 of us ordered salads. None of the orders required much cooking time). read more

Tired old place. Service ok. Had guacamole for appetizer and it was very. Land. Combo plate was poor. Beef taco was soggy and no spice at all. Cheese enchilada had velveta or some horrible cheese. The child relleno was not bad. Pork inside was greasy. Overall a very poor effort. Very expensive and not worth the trip to. read more

Delicious Mother's Day dinner with 3 generations of the family. Gracious greeting when we arrived, seated promptly ... and the deliciousness started! Chips and salsa, freshly-made guacamole ... I had the huge shrimp atop the crab enchiladas, son had steak and others opted for traditional "Tex-Mex" dinners. Everything was delicious! Had to follow it up with chocolate-raspberry cake and hot coffee. Perfect meal. Service was impeccable - nothing forgotten, nothing rushed. A lovely Mother's Day dinner. read more

These guys were awesome! Great food and great service.! The decor and hospitality was second to none! Highly recommend!

Eddie was an excellent waiter ! Great service and never let our glass reach the bottom. Coming back as much as I can ! Thank you !!!

I don't know if calling Via Real a Mexican restaurant is entirely accurate. It is more of fine dining with a Tex-Mex flare. To start, the maragarita's are some of the finest you can find. And beware, if you get the jumbo, it's 28 oz (3 drinks for the price of two) and you better have someone to share it with or had a designated driver. BTW, we are not talking about the plain old margaritas, but clean, well made, with a host of tequila choices. Fresh chips and great salaa. They are REALLY fresh chips and wonderfully tasty salsa. The hot one is really hot.. We had the appitizer sampler which was delicious. Lastly, I had the scallops with a mango sauce which were done perfectly. Marrying that with very attentive service, good kitchen timing and an overall fun atmosphere, it is a place I will go back to the next time I am in the area. Thanks Fran and your staff for making it a very enjoyable evening! read more

fine dining with a casual feel. the ceviche is the best i've had, even being seaside i have not had better! delicious margaritas also.

What a wonderful place. The decor Is beautiful. Great service. Hayden was our waiter and he made us feel special. The scallops were some of the best I've had. I already planning to go back on a Sunday for brunch! read more

VERY PRICEY... $8-12 margaritas.... but they were good. I ordered the veggie enchiladas that were delicious and only $11. But that was the cheapest on the menu. Expect for pay $25-30 a plate. read more

I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. The food was very good. I had the Tentacion (scallops and filet) and the significant other had the tenderloin. I ordered my filet medium, and it was definitely medium-rare. Otherwise, both the steak and the scallops were tender and delicious. The vegetables that it came with were a bit salty. The significant other enjoyed his tenderloin, and we left stuffed ...especially after eating almost 2 bowls of chips and salsa. (PS- coming from someone who puts hot sauce on everything, the extra hot salsa - which comes by request only - is VERY hot). There were both traditional tex mex options, as well as some steak and seafood extras. I don't know how "gourmet Mexican" our options were, but they were good nonetheless. My margarita was tasty but weak. I was impressed with the tequila selection on the house margaritas -- which included my favorite, Don Julio. We were disappointed about the lack of Mexican beer selection on tap. The waiters were nice and helpful. The place is in a strip mall and is huge - we are smaller restaurant fans and were not pleased with the atmosphere. There were some thoughtful Mexican accents, including wood walls and the wood door to the restaurant. read more

On a recent trip to one of my former places of residence The Big D, I had the opportunity to dine with some friends at this fine establishment. The ambience was cool, the service was exquisite and the food was delicious. To top it all off the owner Ms Fran came over to our table and introduced herself. Ms Fran is a classy Texas Lady. Keep doing what you are doing making the best Tex-Mex in the DFW Metroplex! read more

Good Mexican food for the Las Colinas area. I have gone there 3 times when I am in the area. The restaurant choices are minimal, but this is a consistent place to go. read more

The best food and service in DFW! Excellent sea bass, steak and salmon. It ain't a tex mex place.

Went here with a group of business associates. All the food we had was good, with fresh ingredients. I had a chicken dish which was very good. The appetizers and desserts were also good . Service was excellent. The place is not cheap, but gave a good value for the cost. You can walk to it from the Four Seasons Hotel. read more

This place was okay. It wasn't the best Tex-mex, and it wasn't the worst. Overall I'd say it's completely average. The food however came in really large portions, and there's no way a normal human being could finish their quesadillas. The chips and salsa were pretty decent too. In conclusion, nothing out of the ordinary about this place. read more

I came here with my best friend when she was in town (she lives in California, but originally from Dallas) so she definitely missed her queso. We get their chicken fajitas, which were seasoned really well and were very moist, and their queso. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice as well. Definitely will be back! read more

Via Real was really great the first time I came. However, on a recent visit, I wasn't as thrilled. The margarita was pretty so-so. The food (I had the grouper) was quite good. It was well seasoned and tasty although it seemed like they relied a little too much on salting the hell out of it to bring out flavor. The service was odd, we hardly saw our waiter but the water guy was over every two minutes. All in all, I'm willing to give them a pass and say maybe it was an off night or something. The food is still good and I may consider another visit next time I'm in the area. read more

Food - excellent menu, lot of options in terms of seafood and vegetarian, although i ordered a pork loin! But the fact that there were plenty of delicious looking seafood options was a welcome change from the traditional tex mex places. We ordered the scallops and the pork loin, and both the entrees were spot on ! The portions are pretty big, 5 jumbo scallops instead of 3 (everywhere else) on a bed of delicious flavored mash potato was a lot for my wife ! The pork loin was a giant 12oz chunk of meat ! Perfectly seasoned and crusted on the sides. The meat was well complemented by poached pear and asparagus ! Who would have thought a pear would go so well with the meat !!! We could not resist ordering the dessert as the food was so good... We asked for Flan and it was good, not exceptional like the food... But good. (I have had better flan at Agave Azul) Bar - the bar menu was interesting and they seemed to offer giant margaritas for $10, i did not try the margaritas as i am not a fan, but the menu offered a great selection of cocktails for a decent price ! The set up was very comfortable and you can actually fit your dinner plate on the bar counter.... The complimentary chips and salsa was pretty good ! The bartender was friendly and cordial... Lastly, the complimentary valet was a great service considering it was really cold outside ! What they can do better - the appetizer options could be improved... With more non-standard entries in there like the entrees... Thats one of the reasons we did not order any appetizers ! read more

You have to eat here! Diego will serve you a smoked beef tenderloin and get the asparagus with wine glaze. Diego is very charming and he is going to retire. He will be missed for always making my dinners there special! read more

We were on vacation in Dallas, our 3rd in 10 years.. we found the Via Real the1st time and have gone back ever sense! Never disappointment!! This is the only review I've have written, felt it is important to share with others our experience over 10 years.. We have had dinners, lunch and brunch.. each time the Via Real has hit all the box's! 5 stars for Atmosphere, Service, Food and the Presentation of the menu!! My husband loves the Chilean Sea Bass. And I always have the Filet Meynon which comes to the table on a flaming piece of wood! Our last vivsit August 30 thur September 1, 2019, we requested the same server Bruno the next day for brunch.. you could tell he's genuine, love's his job and what he dose! He made us feel welcome and that we were special.. sharing his knowledgeable of the menu and checking on us just the right amount! Love this resturant!!! read more

I am a fan and you will be too after one bite! Start with a blended margarita and a scoop of the guacamole. The scallops are awesome and a perfect ending is a slice of the key lime pie. Yum. read more

Very good. The salmon with cilantro taters was most excellent. The ambiance is very nice. Great date night or meet up with good friends.

Highlight of Las Colinas.. Love the steak fajitas! Classy place but cheaper price for fajitas than anywhere else in the area. Can't go wrong with the frozen margaritas! Also, be sure to opt for the black beans instead of the traditional. Great ambiance and great service. read more

Went here with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and was disappointed. I got the Chicken Cilantro (bland, chicken burnt) and my girlfriend ordered the Tacos Del Res (On-The-Border-level unremarkable). Dessert was the chocolate cake, which was solid, but not enough to salvage the experience. Won't be coming back. read more

In town from GA visiting. We had 2 appetizers and some drinks. The atmosphere is fabulous, the food was good, and our waiter James was the best waiter we have ever had. Perfect timing every time, didn't "check" on us every 10 seconds, and even gave us some recommendations on where to go in the city. What a nice experience! read more

This place has wonderful food and friendly service and timely fashion food delivered to table. Good place to go and will go again.

Fantastic first experience here today! Our boss took a coworker and me out for lunch today, and we loved the place. It has a very upscale feel, but surprisingly low price points. The three of us had lunch and coffee and it was roughly $17 per person for some of the best Mexican food I've had in this area. I ordered shrimp quesadillas which were the best I've ever had, and my lunch companions enjoyed their meals as well. The staff was extremely friendly. The hostess even made conversation while seating us, which goes a long way. The hostess is your first point of contact at any restaurant, and I think many places don't place a high enough importance on making sure that first impression is a great one. Our waiter was extremely friendly, but I must say he seemed to be spread a little thin. We had to ask to more chips twice because the first time we asked he forgot. He wasn't as attentive as he could have been, but he certainly made up for it with his positive and friendly attitude. He must have had more tables than he's comfortable with. At any rate, thoroughly enjoyed our time here in the relaxing atmosphere. We can't wait to go back! read more

Went here for a business lunch. Their definition of spicy is different than mine, but the service was decent and their chicken was great. Still, there's a lot better Tex-Mex in the immediate area. If you need ambiance and a menu that doesn't have cents listed, by all means go. But I don't, so I'd much rather go to La Mexicana y el Gringo or La Margarita for better food, cheaper. read more

Lunch meeting and first time at this restaurant (Suggested by colleague). EXCELLENT service, from valet to hostess to server to busboys! Salsa was very good: tomato puree with nice piquant flavor. Ordered salmon fish tacos served on corn tortillas (I would have preferred flour). Salmon had a wonderful grilled flavor with a delicious glaze. read more

Love this place! Met my party at the bar where we enjoyed margaritas, chips and salsa and good conversation. We moved to our table for dinner. The pan roasted salmon was extraordinary! We were celebrating a birthday so we were surprised with a hefty sized piece of chocolate cake that we shared and a pic of our group. Great atmosphere, too. read more

Fajitas were very bland. Good charro beans. Mediocre service.

Good tasting food and good friendly service. 4 stars for the grocery store taco shells and out of the machine margaritas.

I enjoy their Sunday brunch. Nobody rushes you. The service is attentive but not overbearing. The food tastes fresh. Clean, attractive surroundings. They offered several dishes in chafing pans, including standard breakfast items and some southwestern dishes, made-to-order omelets, cakes, fresh fruit, chocolate fountain. read more

We were in from out of town and someone recommend this place for great Sunday brunch. It has a great ambience, the brunch buffet had a really great selection of Mexican breakfast, lunch, fruits desserts and mimosas are included with the buffet!
