The Reserve in Las Colinas is a modern Mexican Restaurant in the heart of Irving-Las Colinas. It's a mixed bag, but it's also authentic and has a great deal on Taco Tuesdays. ($2.50 per taco) This review focuses on Taco Tuesday. It's worth checking out if you're in the area on a Tuesday evening. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (for Taco Tuesday, 3 Stars on any other day) Atmosphere - The Reserve is a big restaurant with a dedicated bar and outdoor seating. It has a modern Mexican aesthetic, but on my multiple visits, it wasn't full. So, it's a great location if you need a place without making reservations. 1 Star. Service - Out server was friendly, but she was managing several tables on her own (Taco Tuesday crowd), and she did what she could. She was attentive when she could be, but the wait times for ordering and getting food were longer than expected. Not her fault but experienced it. 1/2 Star. Food - I ordered two barbacoa tacos. They were served with sauteed onions, crumbled queso fresco, and cilantro on traditional corn tortillas. The barbacoa was flavorful, well-seasoned, and a little oily, but also super tender. I also ordered the empanada, which looked beautiful on the plate--golden, crisp edges and a nice drizzle of sauce. Unfortunately, the taste didn't quite match the presentation. The filling was a bit bland and dry, and the pastry lacked the flakiness I was hoping for. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out the way the tacos did. 1 1/2 Stars. Return? - Yes.....but only for Taco Tuesday. The location and pricing make it a great midweek hangout spot. I'm curious to try other tacos but maybe skipping the empanada next time. 1 Star.

Upscale Mexican. This is the old BD's Mongolian BBQ, which was replaced by Terra Mediterranean. Beautiful remodel with upscale entrees. I had the lunch tacos for $17. Beef fajita meat was tender and flavorful. The rice is perfectly cooked with odd frozen veggies. The beans have wonderful chunks of ham and frozen green beans. The chips are fanciful colors with a brownish salsa. The tacos come with sautéd onions and cilantro infused raw onions as well as fresh lime wedges. The meat was a bit grisly but mostly tender. The place is a bit expensive but a lovely experience overall

We went here to celebrate a birthday for a girlfriend-- they were very accommodating when we had to push the time back. Initial impression, it's a very nice space and lots of cute decor and huge bar area. Definitely great for large parties. When we visited, it did have a strong sewage smell, so I had to deduct points for that. We ordered a trompo taco tower for the table, plus guac and queso -- the food was really good and we loved the complimentary salsa we got with the chips. The drinks were all great and strong! We did not order actual food there because the service was lacking; another reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars. Despite the nice location and good food, we had so much trouble getting basic requests (more chips/salsa, drink refills etc) and our checks was a complete mess. I did order food to-go and that took forever to bring out. Our waitress mentioned she was feeling overwhelmed dealing with personal issues; we're not heartless but at the same time, take the day off or ask for help. We would actually like to go back and give this place another try, but it might be a while.

The taco tower was cold and pretty expensive to be cold. The queso was delicious. I got the Mexican Candy alcoholic beverage. It was watery and no alcohol at all to me. Our waitress is were very pushy and rushing. We had a reservation! cute place to take pictures but the bathroom smelled horrible!!!

We were out and about and wanted to stop somewhere for a quick afternoon drink. Service was spectacular, drinks were prepared in ice cold glasses! We will definitely be back to check out the menu options and the patio for live music!

The 3.4 star review on yelp is pretty accurate. Came on a Sunday for brunch. Staff was friendly but the service and food are mediocre. Flavors were acceptable and they have a good $10 bottle mimosa special. However, the queso flameado is mislabeled and it was a big disappointment. It was not real "flameado" melted cheese but more like runny white nacho cheese. Also, on the chilaquiles the sauce was hot but everything else on the plate was cold.

Came by and had a few margaritas and some chips and salsa. They have a great bar and the chips were complimentary. Enjoyed the stay, maybe next time will do food.

This place was very underwhelming for dinner. We came in on a Sunday night at 7pm and the restaurant wasn't busy at all, however the service was ridiculously slow. There were only 3 people in our party so it's not like we had a lot of people to wait on. Our server never came back to refill our waters on her own so we had to keep asking her to do so. The food took a while to come out and when it did, it was barely lukewarm. We all had ordered the taco plates and had similar experiences. Of the three tacos that I got, the only redeeming one was the trompo taco. We read after the fact that this restaurant is known more so for brunch and that other people also experienced the slow service as well. Unfortunately, I do not plan on coming back here ever again.

Came back to find out about the evening vibe! Husband and I came in on a Tuesday evening and were seated immediately, our table wasn't the cleanest tbh. The chips and salsa was just ok. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and made great suggestions for dinner. We opted for the enmoladas (amazing and delicious) and the costillas (really good). Not your typical tex-mex place but delicious food! Worth a visit for sure! Enjoy!

Food is pretty bland. Service is slow. They are nice people though! Prices are crazy high. Weird ambiance to the place as well.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday with my mom and enjoyed it. It was Taco Tuesday and we ordered the trompo tacos, they were SO good. Maria Mendoza was our server and she went above and beyond to serve us. She was very attentive and checked on us regularly. Water and coffee stayed topped off.

Showed up during happy hour. Not a lot of people were in there. The tacos and salsa were surprisingly delicious. I decided to come here as I found it on yelp and I'm so glad I did

We came here for Mothers Day after seeing a TikTok. We were pleasantly surprised at how great this establishment is, food was amazing. Best part was the service. Very attentive and they were able to accommodate our every need. 10 out of 10. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

While there are "bourbon bars" with a wider bourbon selection or "gin bars" with a wider gin selection, they have an above average selection of each, and they don't charge absurd up charges for choosing the liquor you like. The bartender is very polite. There's ample seating at the bar, and you can also take your drink to some loungy-er chairs in the nearby part of the hotel lobby. All in all, a solid bar.

You walk in and the bar is to your right. It was about 6 and no one was at the bar. There was a group of guys discussing something over drinks in the lounge area but that was about it. The bartender came right up to my boyfriend and I. I told the bartender my boyfriend had never been to Texas so we tried out essentially every tap by sampling which was nice that he offered that up. After we tried each beer we decided on some options. The bartender went back to texting in the corner and we sat at the bar listening to the music playing in the open concept lobby/bar area We eventually took over the seating area that group was in because the couches looked more cozy than the bar. The happy hour advertised is not a thing anymore, they now have reverse happy hour from 9-10. The beers weren't too expensive as our tab was only $13 which I doable. The bartender disappeared from the bar for a fair amount of time which made me anxious because I used to be a bartender, I guess he trusted we wouldn't leave without paying. He didnt come check on us to see if we needed another beer but that was ok I guess. I went back up to the bar to cash out and that was that. This bar is good for a quick drink but I wouldn't probably go for a top notch bar experience.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Monaco is one of the prettiest restaurants in all of DFW. Dark wood and dark blue seating invite you in. The bar is stunning, with back lighting highlighting their drinks. There's also an outdoor seating area, including a wind shield - perfect when the weather is nice. This is a great spot for a weekend date night if you want something outside of Dallas. 1 Star. Service - Everyone was very nice. We were never rushed, all dishes could be customized to order, and I never had to ask for a refill. Nothing but good people here. 1 Star. Food - Let me start by saying presentation matters, and the dishes at Monaco are great for your Instagram or Yelp feed. I started with the roasted oysters. I chose it because the description said the oysters are "topped with bone marrow butter". That, combined with the roasted breadcrumbs, added a nice crunchy and smooth texture to the delicious oysters. For my main, I went with the Salmon St. Harve. This beautiful dish had a perfectly prepared salmon. Soft and flaky, but with a crunch from the skin at the bottom. It was served on top of grilled asparagus and topped with a cream sauce that brought everything together. Delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's not a secret that I love Water Street. This is an awesome area in the heart of DFW, and I'm so happy there is an upscale restaurant like Monaco that has amazing food. 1 Star.
