I was on Yelp's guest list to try pasta at this new pasta shop in Chinatown. It was a great experience. First of all, I took a skytrain instead of driving there. I was lazy to find parking and I should just exercise by walking more especially I was going to eat some carb food. When I got here, some customers were waiting for their order. The shop got some online orders as well. I am guessing the server who served me was the owner? Anyway, he was very friendly. He took orders online and offline as well as cooking at the back! He was very busy taking care of the orders and walk-in customers. I ordered bolognese rigatoni and looked forward to trying and eating it!! I waited for a while though. Finally the food came out. It smelt great and looked great. The box was full of pasta and sauce. It was quite heavy. I found a place and sat down to eat. The texture of rigatoni was about right. It was not too soft or soaky or not too firm. The meat sauce was coated each piece of the rigatoni. It was great!! There was some cheese on top that it added a bit of flavour to the meat sauce. I had a great time eating the pasta. I shared the pasta with my husband as the portion could be for two people! Would I recommend this pasta shop to others? Yes! I would

Was very excited to try this 3-month old pasta place in the heart of Chinatown c/o Yelp and they did not disappoint. There were 2 men on a Sunday night and both were friendly. This place does not offer dine in options. They ran out of Gamberetti sauce so I tried Chicken Alfredo and Salmon Cream both on Fettuccine. As it's only take out, my husband drove to a park where we enjoyed the pasta. Texture of homemade pasta was just right and sauces were very yummy. I especially liked the Chicken Alfredo. Portions were generous too. The business concept targets people on the run. It's an easy and simple meal to bring to work or bring home after a long day at work. Decent meals in minutes - sauces are ready and pasta are prepped with prices in the $12 to $16 range. Make no mistake, it is a far cry from fast food outlets that offer low quality food. Neither is it gourmet with the likes of EVOO, fresh parsley garnishes, lemon wedges or shaven Parmesan. This is as good as it gets. Will I recommend? Definitely yes.

Was excited to try Via Pasta through the Yelp Elite event. I went around 7pm on Sunday evening and unfortunately, they said they were out of the Gamberetti sauce so I choose the rigatoni with creamy rose sauce. In addition, I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese and paid for that to go as well. You can see the large containers of fresh pasta made fresh in-store - none of the dried pasta stuff. Via Pasta is a to-go store with no in-store seating and the prices range from $11.95 to $15.95, which is really reasonable as the portions are huge and heavy. My two pasta orders didn't take long and they smelled heavenly. The spaghetti bolognese tasted hearty and rich, really hit the spot though I added extra cheese and chili flakes at home. The rigatoni creamy rose was also excellent and wasn't too heavy. Both pastas were cooked well though I wish it was slightly more al dente and the rigatoni with some more veggies but was still great. Quick, tasty, fresh, and affordable - a great find that opens until late. Wish there was a location in my neighbourhood as I would frequent often if it was nearby my home. Definitely recommend checking out if you're craving a delicious and quick take out meal!

If you're having a pasta craving and like cheesy pasta this is your place! Quick and easy stop for filling meals on the go. This restaurant just off Main in Chinatown serves up hearty portions of to-go fresh pasta and your choice of sauce. I chose Pesto Rigatoni, I'm not a huge cheese fan and didn't realize the pesto was going to be super cheesy but the few bites I had were tasty and my family enjoyed the rest. I also paid for a tiramisu which was enjoyable, personally I prefer a higher soaked cookie ratio but again my family loved the high ratio of mascarpone. I was invited here through a Yelp Elite event and was impressed with their hearty servings and friendly service.

Were introduced to Via Pasta through an Elite event and loved it! This is takeout only with no seating. A small place with an area to order and wait for it to be ready. You can also see your order being prepared. You can select the pasta type, sauce and toppings and the portions are decent. Got the garlic bread and creamy rosa the first time. The pasta was yummy. Bread was ok. The second time we got creamy rosa and pomodoro. And they definitely messed up the rosa. We couldn't tell which which was which had it not been for the pasta shell. The creamy rosa had more tomatoes than the pomodoro and hardly any white sauce. The color was also more red than pink. Seems like they aren't consistent, will give some time before trying out again.

An amazing little gem for Italian in chinatown. Relatively quick considering it only took 7 minutes (yes I timed it) from ordering to serving. Despite the quick cook times, the serving was comparable of what you'd expect from a restaurant. The menu let's you pick and choose your pasta and sauce as well as additions like extra meat. The pasta itself was al dente. The sauce bursting with tomato flavour. I would have preferred some slighter bigger pieces of eggplant but that's my taste. I'd you like cheese though, this place got you covered. The sauce had the perfect amount of cheese incorporated into it making extremely creamy. In conclusion, give this little place a try. You won't regret it.

It was decent! I got the shell pasta with Gambretti sauce. Next time I'll definitely add olives and mushrooms to give it a bit more veggies. Good for a while in the wall quick bite.

Via pasta is a new comfort pasta place in town. I got the salmon cream pasta and the matriciana. The sauce was premade pretty good. Small kitchen only to go concept. The pasta was made okay too but its just i got uncooked fettucine sadly. The sauce definitely needed more parmigiano and black pepper to get better taste. I hope via pasta can sustain and get better in the future. Cheers!

Small to-go shop with bounds of homemade pasta ready for order. Staff were friendly and efficient, we got our order within 5 mins. We sat by a nearby park and I will say, the pasta tasted much better than it looked. A little salty for my liking but tons of flavour in the sauce and the pasta was the perfect al dente. Large quantities, fast service and pasta ranged between $12-15. Would def check it out again if I were in the area!

Five stars for friendly staff! Via Pasta is located in Chinatown and offers quick take out pasta for around $12-$16. You get a choice of pasta noodle and sauce and you add also choose to add on toppings for an additional cost. They have beverages and desserts to go as well. The staff is so friendly and nice. It took about 10 minutes or so for our orders (Salmon cream fettuccini and Chicken Alfredo fettuccini). The sauce is light and not very salty (although I prefer more salty). A decent amount of salmon but there could be more chicken in the chicken Alfredo sauce. A neat concept for a quick pasta takeout restaurant.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

The veal was juicy and perfectly seasoned and paired with the creamy pasta was perfect. We ended with the panacotta which was fresh, fruity and light! Will definitely be back!!

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

The seafood ravioli was tasty and I'd have it again. The pappardelle was decent although didn't have as much depth or complexity of flavour as it could've. Service was nice enough. It's a cute, cozy spot in Gastown. Overall, it was just fine but given the abundance of great Italian restaurants in town I probably would go elsewhere when craving pasta.

The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full.
