Actually incredible. The place is split into 3 sections: traditional box arcade games, dining/bar/board games and more physical arcade games like basketball connect 4 and skeeball/ice ball (short ramp). Fantastic spot-- despite space invaders being out and skeeball not counting points for the 10,000 ring. When we told staff, they promptly checked. All in all the service was what blew me away. They brought over extra sauce, were attentive and kind, and able to answer many questions. The food was also very very good. 5 stars easily. I'm surprised I haven't been here before! Will be back

A fun experience. Good vibes and friendly staff. When we visited, there was a Tekken 8 tournament going on. It was cool to see players compete for the win. The games at the arcade included some pinball machines on one side, and a mix of retro and modern titles. Also check out when the tournaments are happening to complete! It's free, See you on the next visit!

This is a great place to go and right in downtown. There's a $5 cover to get in. They have a variety of games from single player to multiplayer as well. The was very friendly at the bar helping to decide on drinks. For my drink I got the birdo bath and it was one of the most unique drinks I have gotten. It was in a form of a tub with a "bath bomb" dissolving with dragon fruit flavoring. It tasted delicious and was enjoyed to drink. A fun and hype ambiance

I came here on a Saturday night and the cover was just $5 per person. Seems like a great deal for unlimited games, especially compared to Roxy's in Cambridge. However, I will say, it was quite crowded and a bunch of machines were broken. I guess you get what you pay for. The bar was packed, with tons of people grabbing drinks. I ended up going elsewhere for a drink after, so we could find a spot to sit. If I came back again, I'd probably try for a weeknight. Even so, I had a fun time and the vibes were pretty cool!

Fantastic venue for a family event 10/10 would recommend, staff very accommodating and friendly. Apps were good , shoutout staff for making sure I ate something otherwise I wouldnt have tbh and for my guest or 2 with food allergies that were also able to eat. Was told they host tournaments here and challenging the staff was fun. Perfect retro vibes, makes you miss the old school arcade that used to be in Boston. Shoutout some of the staff: Anthony , Dave , Erik, Paola, Mikey and the back of house for pumping out the food that day thank you.

I got my butt beat in Tekken Hip, bustlin, and cool, Versus is the type of nerdy bar I need in cold Boston. Ambiance: My kind of vibe. Full of fun people and arcades, for 5 dollars, you can stay there and play games in the bar AND the arcade games all night. Cool murals and art pieces as well. Service: Quick and easy. They don't play games (haha) when it comes to 21+ night. If you're younger, don't even try. Food/ Drinks: Did not eat food there, but I got the Tai-Bo and Leroy Jenkins. P good. I really enjoyed the creaminess of the tai-bo A must go place for college folks / geeks alike

all you can play old school arcade for a $5 cover perfect for #datenight the drinks were part if the vibe with 1 player and multi player options I tried the #princesspeach that tasted just like a peach ring. The #chickensandwich was crispy and had a delicious sauce that made it a little messy and it was served on a Frisbee to stay with the theme. the #cheesestakespringrolls were different I'm glad I tried them but probably wouldn't order them again. it's a small space but I'll definitely go again. #Boston #Massachusetts #willflyforfood

I had lots of fun here. I went on a Friday night and had to pay a $5 cover but it was unlimited game play. The place was small and felt intimate. I played basketball connect four (so much fun), oversized jenga, and ski ball. This place was a fun change of pace. It was nice that we could also order food and drink here. We got cheesy fries and they were great. Overall, VERSUS was great!

I had never been to an arcade bar before, but my sister and her boyfriend were visiting Boston and they suggested we spend a night out here! Cover is $5 and you can play as many games as you'd like for as long as you want. We all shared a pitcher of Downeast and ordered dinner before we played anything. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. It was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I wish it came with a side of fries or a salad, though. The selection of games is pretty solid. Versus had a mix of table games and arcade/machine games. We ended up trying a few of the arcade games (pinball, skee-ball, racing games, etc.) and played a few rounds of jenga. Some of the games were quite old or out of order, which was a bummer. All in all, I really enjoyed coming here and thought it was a fun alternative to a usual night out!

Had an amazing time at Versus This place is a must-visit--decent prices, incredible food, and an overall great vibe. @Bulezywooo

You can immediately tell this place takes pride in what they do, especially when you see the chefs in action. Watching them work with the freshly made dough and expertly handle the pizza oven added such a fun and authentic touch to the experience. The food was absolutely incredible. The pizza was hands down one of the best we've had--perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor in every bite. We also ordered the cucumber salad, which was refreshing, light, and the perfect complement to the richness of the pizza. Everything about our visit felt thoughtfully done, from the quality of the food to the energy of the space. If you're in Boston and looking for a spot with amazing pizza, fresh ingredients, and a great vibe, The Salty Pig is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back! While the kitchen delivered a solid meal, the service was so profoundly disappointing that it completely overshadowed the food. The culinary side of things easily earns a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered a wide variety of items to share, and the highlights included: * The Pizzas: Creative flavor combinations with fresh, high-quality toppings and fantastic crusts. * The Bucatini Pasta: Perfectly cooked and packed with rich flavor. * The Asparagus Appetizer & The Chicken Milanese: Both executed well, flavorful, and cooked to a high standard. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience was uniformly horrible. For a large party, hospitality can make or break the night, and our server missed the mark at every single turn: * Argumentative & Dismissive: He actively argued with our host regarding an appetizer that had been ordered in advance. When asked about vegetarian substitutions for a sold-out pasta dish, he curtly replied, "Pasta with butter is all we can do"--despite the fact that we could clearly see a wide variety of fresh vegetables being used right on their pizzas. * Inattentive: Dirty dishes piled up on our table, and when we politely asked for them to be cleared, he claimed he needed to get help and walked away completely empty-handed. Our drink orders were rarely checked on or refilled. * Rude to Guests: He displayed visible attitude and put-off body language whenever anyone asked a simple question. This peaked when he was outright rude to one of the young women in our party who simply wanted to put her order in a bit early because she had to leave before the rest of the group. It is a real shame because the ingredients and the kitchen's output are genuinely good. However, between the hostile attitude and the lack of basic service standards, we unfortunately won't be rushing back.

Great meal to end the upper US marathon vacation!!…read more We had no idea where we may end up eating but the trusty Yelp app led us to another victory dance!! Yay for Yelp!! We had just cruised the nearby mall center thingy and were hungry on our last night in Boston. We saw the sites and did the things. Boston is a one of a kind place for sure. This was the choice. It was a great choice! Beautifully decorated and oh so chill inside. We have a thing that we do at places with great appetizers. We just order a bunch of those and feast. That's what we did here! We started with some raw oysters. They were very nice indeed. Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury MA. is where they came from. We love the little local Junts a lot and had them all over the northeast while we were there. We also had Crab Rangoon Dip. Very good, lots of fresh lump crabmeat, with a house chili crisp, scallions, and wonton chips. Loved it! They we had some fantastic mussels to close the deal! The flavor was amazing! I wish I could have them every single day! We also had a bowl of BPH Clam Chowder. CC is one of my favorite things and this place did not disappoint in any way! Delicious!! The server was great. She took great care and made our last night in Boston an unforgettable experience. If you are near, you should go right now! Why aren't you there yet? '26 - 108

We had a 7:15 reservation on a Friday night. We arrived at 7:05, and the restaurant was FULL. The hostess greeted us and told us our table was being prepared. I am happy to say we were seated on time at a beautiful table for 4. The decor and atmosphere were really beautiful. It had a strong neighborhood feel that is remarkably unique. Our server introduced herself and took our drink order. My wife had a tropical Negroni, and I ordered a Vieux Carré. The drinks were generously sized and well made. We ordered our meals. We started with Burrata Toast and Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were placed on a covered plate to contain the smoke. The presentation was only eclipsed by the oysters' flavor. The burrata toast was large enough to share between the four of us. The presentation was also beautiful, and the flavors were superb. Our entrees included: herb-crusted halibut, steak frites, the signature 1928 burger, and a gorgeous short rib with some fabulous crispy Brussels sprouts. We shared a single Sticky coffee pudding for dessert. All I can say is that the food and libations were superb, and the service was superb. It is not inexpensive, but no more so than any upscale restaurant in Boston. I would take the few recent negative reviews with a grain of salt. I have spent more and received less at a couple of spots in Boston. We will certainly return to 1928. I would love to try eating at the bar on our next visit.

The decor and ambiance are gorgeous. I had two cocktails: the lychee martini and the 1928, both were delicious and well portioned with spirits. The service was fantastic. We never had to ask for our glasses to be refilled, our waiter was attentive and professional. My husband had indicated on the online reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, and that was the only mention of our celebration. And yet when the dessert came out, it was a happy birthday, custom dessert. So without having to remind a soul, the team remembered and incorporated the celebration without having to be asked or reminded. Phenomenal attention to detail.
