i loved viva!! my friends and I went there on Sunday as a walk in and the whole staff was really friendly and attentive. we had a room and our server Mj was amazing, she made sure we always had drinks, helped us figure out the systems and even brought us a new microphone when one of them ran out of battery. we had so much fun, and loved that there's also a karaoke option outside of the rooms :) will def come again read more

The server was new, and messed up quite a few drink orders. In addition the app that Viva Karaoke uses for the private rooms kept glitching. The words did not match, sometimes there were remixes to songs that were not recognizable and it took up quite a bit of time. We were only offered 15 extra minutes for the inconvenience. They should utilize another system or find a way to do a systems check ahead of time. It was frustrating. I would also recommend an updated playlist. I was with friends so still had a good time. Such a fun night at VIVA Karoke! We really enjoyed the experience here. We had a large group of about 20 people at the moment and rented the whole room. The service was attentive and quick - we got our foods/drinks right away; keep in mind that this was during not-so-busy weekday night. The place was clean and well organized. We might just stay at the lounge next time tho to save our money. Only thing I didn't like was their song selections - they didn't have some of the popular songs that we wanted to sing! Had a great time at this karaoke spot. The rooms are super modern with cool neon lighting. it really sets the mood for singing and hanging out with friends. The sound system was solid, and the song selection had a nice mix of English, Mandarin, and Cantonese tracks, which was a huge plus. Everything worked smoothly, and we ended up staying longer than we planned just because it was so fun. I was really impressed by VIVA! I always associated karaoke with sticky, shady rooms but this was quite clean, nice, and modern. The room is spacious but I would recommend 10 people for comfort. There are two karaoke systems in each room - the Chinese one has more songs. There is a system at the front of the room where you can change the lighting in the room, call room service, etc. We would definitely come back again for karaoke - we had so much fun! read more

Cool place to come with a group of friends, we reserved a room which I would highly recommend because at our reservation time we were able to walk right in without waiting in the giant line. We got some fries to split and they were fine and we also split a bunch of soju and had some shots. Great experience here. The set up is kind of like stage in Allston where there is a section for the stage that people can go queue up songs and sing. They offer free soft drinks, which is sooo good when mixing alcohol. I think I was most surprised by the complimentary soft drinks. The food here is good too. They have a big selection of finger foods and I think they were sufficient for the atmosphere. The operating system for picking songs is pretty easy to use too. Just scan the QR code and it gets you to the website. Pricing wise, I think it is a lot more affordable, since we only paid about $50 per person for a 11 person room with lots of sojus on the bill. So definitely come with a big group of people. Staff is also super friendly and accommodating. I would recommend coming here. read more

I really love VIVA!! I've now been here for karaoke a few times and it's so fun! It's become a favorite place for my friends to just go have a blast and sing our hearts out. We're the type of people who were always intimidated by traditional karaoke, but the private rooms have been a game-changer. The rooms can hold up to 9-15 people and they run happy hour prices before 7 pm on rooms that can make it super reasonably priced and worth it for a an hour or two of karaoke with friends. The quality of the rooms is impressive! They're clean, well maintained and super fun! They have a great sounds system with lots of songs. There are lights that you can change to set the vibe and it's literally just a non-stop party once the music starts going! The service is also super kind! They bring you water and soft drinks (included in the room reservation) and they also have a menu that you can order additional food + drinks on. Really awesome place! Viva is awesome! Have been here three times already. This is a brand new renovated space owned by the same owners of Stage karaoke over in Allston. So you can see the similarities in the snazzy modern futuristic interior decor. The main stage is great and free to sing at on weeknights. They have private rooms too. The song selection system is the same as Stage. They have these iPads where you look up the song and then write down the song number, name, artist, your name and give it to the DJ. One of the managers Chen was very friendly and very welcoming. In fact the second time we were there, I forgot my umbrella there and realized just as we got home. I called them and Chen was very nice and said he would put my name on it and leave it behind the bar. We went back a couple days later and were able to retrieve it!! Overall always a great time singing and listening and watching others sing! On Monday nights they're less busy so you get to sing more songs. Thursday night is quite packed so you wait longer for your turn, but still fun to watch others sing. Go to Viva for a great time! read more

​Staff trespassed a very popular LIVE streamer last night in front of hundreds on LIVE stream. The streamer got up to buy another drink and returned to his table and someone had sat there. He kindly told her he was sitting there and went to order another drink. She became very unruly and argumentative (witnessed by the LIVE stream). The staff called the police and trespassed the LIVE streamer who for two weeks in a row has spent hundreds of dollars in this establishment compared to her one drink. I've been to quite a few karaoke places and this is the absolute best one!! Why? The rooms are a great size and clean and beautiful. The screens are huge and all the technology was easy to use and actually worked (not like that everywhere). We did my daughter's 18th birthday party and the staff was so sweet, especially our host Kat! I also loved that there was karaoke going on in the main room! We NEEDED a place like this in Boston. Viva is right in the theater district and it is soo much fun. The private rooms are reasonably priced and they have happy hour. I highly recommend booking a private room for at least two hours. I booked a room for a company team outing and we all had a blast. The rooms were super high tech and they have an easy to use song selection system where you can control the volume, lights, and vocals. You also never need to leave the room for food and drinks! There is a service button where you can get everything brought to you. If you don't want to do a private room, you can go to the main stage, where you can make a song request and sing in front of everyone at the bar. Both options are great. I usually do both. Definitely come here for a night out with friends or a company outing. read more

This place is incredible! I went here for a birthday celebration and it couldn't have been better. We got a private room for two hours and the staff was incredibly nice working with our reservation. We got drinks, food, and two hours of singing in our private room. For drinks I got the lychee martini and the viva mojito, both were delicious and beautiful. For food we spilt the large platter of chicken, dumplings, fries etc and everything on the platter was delicious. I rarely leave reviews and was so excited to go to Viva but our experience last night was so unexpected and I'm hoping it gives caution to others before deciding to go here. I've never had this situation happen before where a completely valid US Citizen ID was rejected. We had a reservation and I read on the website in advance the accepted IDs rules but when we showed up, my friend with a valid US passport card was told that it was not an acceptable form of ID for drinks. The website and MA law explicitly states US-issued IDs are valid at Viva,which would include US passport cards. The bouncer insisted that passport cards were against policy for valid ID which meant no one in our group could get any drinks and we'd have to leave before midnight. Deposit was $50 and not refundable so I feel absolutely scammed by this ridiculous situation. Makes me question management's motivation for why US passport cards specifically aren't considered valid (contrary to their own website's information) or if this was an instance of bias against my friend which I really would hate to believe to be true read more

A friend had made a small error resulting in quite a big inconvenience to the staff and it was handled OUTSTANDINGLY!! Such a great karaoke spot near Chinatown! I came here with a large group of friends, making our reservation a couple weeks in advance. Their interior is space like and similar to ktv spots in Asia, elaborate and heavily decorated! They have two applications in which you can find ktv songs so you will likely be able to find any song you want. They even give complimentary water and soda which is a big plus considering most places charge for both! The staff was also super friendly and they came very quickly anytime we called them. My friend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to get boba in Chinatown and boy, are we so glad to have found it! The interior is very new and clean with bright lights - the perfect place to test out your singing chops in public with some liquid courage. What we were most interested in were the private rooms. It is $45/hour before 7 PM and we got there around 6:30 PM. FIRST, there are different light settings in the room and that was fun to play with. SECOND, water comes with the room AND they offer a cover for the microphone if you (understandably) are worried about the germies. People mentioned that there is a limited song selection but that's okay!! They still have a lot to choose from. For context, we were trying to find songs from Cheetah Girls 2 but those aren't available yet. There is some High School Musical though!!! AND THE BEST PART?? Because we were only there half the hour, they only charged me half the price which doesn't seem like a big deal but it is because I paid $22.50 for a whole lot of joy. #worth 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come here again. read more

You can sing along with the aid of one large wall monitor in the rear and a medium sized to the singers left. The audience can help out because there is also a large wall monitor on stage. The stage is just the right size for you to sing your heart out. There is also enough space for some backup singers, like we did (LOL). There are props for you to use so you can feel like you're living the dream. They have several private rooms. I believe 20 people for $125 an hour. The room has 2 large wall monitors so your group can sing. There's plenty of seating, 2 mics, and you control the tunes. You will be assigned a staff member to bring the drinks ordered off the electronic wall tablet. If you have a large group of friends that really want to have a blast, the private rooms are the way to go. Fun, fun, fun. I guess by this review, you can already tell.... When you walk into the karaoke place, there is an open area for free karaoke for the public. The decor of the place is pretty cute; I love the lights and the giant statue in the back! There is ample seating and tables for everyone. The bar is located next to the tables and you can order your songs at the front of the shop near the bar. We reserved a time slot and came a little early. They let us in early after waiting a little bit. The room was well insulated, so you can't really hear outside or inside the room. The lights of the room can correlate with the music and you can change the colors! I like how there are two screens, one for the front and one for the back, so you can face either direction. IMPORTANT: The music that is available is based off of a selection that they have there, so you can't queue whatever song or whatever remix you'd like. It has to be in their system, but they still do have a wide variety of music. They have Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc music, a lot of the classic American karaoke songs, and there is a limited YouTube option where you can find select remixes that they have in their system from YouTube. This is one of the best places to do karaoke if you're in Boston. I was coming from a different location in Austin and I was turned away due to a full booking. They had recommended this place. The bouncers were terribly rude to my friends and me. We were all over 21 but one of our friends IDs didn't pass their faulty scanner. We had to get the police involved and they still didn't let us in. Do not go here they were so terrible to us and were clearly unprepared to even be nice decent people. I went last week for my best friend's birthday celebration and it was awesome!! To start the ambiance is beautiful! As soon as you walk in you see the nice multi-colored lights complimenting the dark interior. The main area is a nice size. For her celebration however we were in a private area which were called studios. The studios have various prices per hour. In the studio there's two projector screens, a computer and multiple mics with covers. The studio was very nice. Good size not to large or small and nice leather lounge sofas. The nice part with the computer is you can select your songs which was great! A tip that a hostess mentioned was if you plan on using YouTube wait till the last hour since it tends to give issues to go back to the main area with the song selections. The the drink menu can be viewed through a small QR code on the tables. The main menu for food is outside in the main area. The drinks and the appetizers we got were delicious. The staff was very nice and one hostess even took our group photos! I definitely would recommend coming here for a good time! read more
