EXCELLENT!!! I have a group that does karaoke at every conference we go to. That means we do karaoke two or three times a year, all around the country. As such, I feel well qualified to talk about how amazing Viva is! Song finding system: the Viva system is easier than most, and made it simple to find what we liked. Easy to move things around on the queue. Location: easy access, safe location for arrival. Private rooms: this is where Viva absolutely shone. Private rooms are obviously critical. However, at most karaoke places, it's challenging to get in and out of the bench seating to get up to sing. Not at Viva! The bench was long, with space to get in and out, while still having table access and plenty of water. It's hard to say how much this improved the experience. Service: there's a button to press for service, and they show up and take care of whatever you need. Drinks: many of us find that karaoke requires alcohol lubrication. That means the drink quality really matters. The drinks were fab! read more

Good vibes and an even better time! We had such a fun experience at VIVA Downtown for my birthday after dinner. The room was spacious enough for everyone to enjoy themselves comfortably, and the service was surprisingly quick, which was a plus. My only complaint was how cold the room was. I was practically freezing and they could not adjust the temperature! Aside from that, everyone had a great time, and the convenient downtown location makes it an easy spot to consider for a fun outing with friends. read more

This place is so fun! We went on a Wednesday night and there was no cover. We stayed at the main stage rather than renting a room. The dj was excellent, as were the singers. I can hardly wait to come back. read more

Wonderful karaoke spot with a great atmosphere! I found all the staff to be kind and the DJ set a great atmosphere for the evening! Our group had a ton of fun on a Wednesday evening! I did not try the food, but enjoyed one of their specialty cocktails. I really enjoyed my cocktail (Water-Malone) and found it to be at an expected price for downtown Boston ($16). read more

This place was an unexpected find, organized by a member of my Rock Voices choir. A group of about 20 of us reserved a private room for karaoke during their Happy Hour. The staff were super friendly and helpful, bringing drinks and food when it was ordered and generally otherwise staying out of the way except to explain how things worked. There were two large monitors on opposite walls where the lyrics to selected songs appeared, L-shaped seating along two adjacent walls, a computer off to the side where you could select your songs, change the order, adjust the volume of the singing, and two mics were provided. We were able to find most of the songs we were looking for from Elvis Presley to Chappell Roan. We had a blast and the two hours flew by. Would go again in a heartbeat. read more

Such a fun night at VIVA Karoke! We really enjoyed the experience here. We had a large group of about 20 people at the moment and rented the whole room. The service was attentive and quick - we got our foods/drinks right away; keep in mind that this was during not-so-busy weekday night. The place was clean and well organized. We might just stay at the lounge next time tho to save our money. Only thing I didn't like was their song selections - they didn't have some of the popular songs that we wanted to sing! Which was disappointing but we still had fantastic time here! read more

The server was new, and messed up quite a few drink orders. In addition the app that Viva Karaoke uses for the private rooms kept glitching. The words did not match, sometimes there were remixes to songs that were not recognizable and it took up quite a bit of time. We were only offered 15 extra minutes for the inconvenience. They should utilize another system or find a way to do a systems check ahead of time. It was frustrating. I would also recommend an updated playlist. I was with friends so still had a good time. The main room karaoke was tons of fun though! We went out there once our time in the private room was up. read more

Had a great time at this karaoke spot. The rooms are super modern with cool neon lighting. it really sets the mood for singing and hanging out with friends. The sound system was solid, and the song selection had a nice mix of English, Mandarin, and Cantonese tracks, which was a huge plus. Everything worked smoothly, and we ended up staying longer than we planned just because it was so fun. The price is a little on the expensive side, especially compared to similar places in other cities, but for the setup and overall vibe, it's worth it once in a while. The environment was clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, 4/5 -- a great karaoke experience in Boston if you're looking for a fun night out with friends. Just be ready to spend a bit more than you might expect! read more

I was really impressed by VIVA! I always associated karaoke with sticky, shady rooms but this was quite clean, nice, and modern. The room is spacious but I would recommend 10 people for comfort. There are two karaoke systems in each room - the Chinese one has more songs. There is a system at the front of the room where you can change the lighting in the room, call room service, etc. We would definitely come back again for karaoke - we had so much fun! read more

Cool place to come with a group of friends, we reserved a room which I would highly recommend because at our reservation time we were able to walk right in without waiting in the giant line. We got some fries to split and they were fine and we also split a bunch of soju and had some shots. Overall a really cool place to come if you're celebrating anything and want to do karaoke. read more

They robbed us time. We booked from 2:15 to 3:45. We got here a little early and started from 3:07. They cut us off at 3:30 instead of 3:37 or 3:45. We told the server and they just kicked us out instead of giving back our time owed. Will not be coming back. read more

Viva is awesome! Have been here three times already. This is a brand new renovated space owned by the same owners of Stage karaoke over in Allston. So you can see the similarities in the snazzy modern futuristic interior decor. The main stage is great and free to sing at on weeknights. They have private rooms too. The song selection system is the same as Stage. They have these iPads where you look up the song and then write down the song number, name, artist, your name and give it to the DJ. One of the managers Chen was very friendly and very welcoming. In fact the second time we were there, I forgot my umbrella there and realized just as we got home. I called them and Chen was very nice and said he would put my name on it and leave it behind the bar. We went back a couple days later and were able to retrieve it!! Overall always a great time singing and listening and watching others sing! On Monday nights they're less busy so you get to sing more songs. Thursday night is quite packed so you wait longer for your turn, but still fun to watch others sing. Go to Viva for a great time! read more

I just visited VIVA karaoke for a friend's birthday and had a really fun time. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room and attentiveness of staff. There was a bar outside our room that we were able to access easily and a server could be called directly to the room as well. We had the option to order food and drinks and water was provided in the room. The equipment was easy to use and had a variety of songs to choose from. read more

Great experience here. The set up is kind of like stage in Allston where there is a section for the stage that people can go queue up songs and sing. They offer free soft drinks, which is sooo good when mixing alcohol. I think I was most surprised by the complimentary soft drinks. The food here is good too. They have a big selection of finger foods and I think they were sufficient for the atmosphere. The operating system for picking songs is pretty easy to use too. Just scan the QR code and it gets you to the website. Pricing wise, I think it is a lot more affordable, since we only paid about $50 per person for a 11 person room with lots of sojus on the bill. So definitely come with a big group of people. Staff is also super friendly and accommodating. I would recommend coming here. read more

Great vibes nice atmosphere! ! Highly recommend! Staff is awesome. Great service! Tyson is the best!

I really love VIVA!! I've now been here for karaoke a few times and it's so fun! It's become a favorite place for my friends to just go have a blast and sing our hearts out. We're the type of people who were always intimidated by traditional karaoke, but the private rooms have been a game-changer. The rooms can hold up to 9-15 people and they run happy hour prices before 7 pm on rooms that can make it super reasonably priced and worth it for a an hour or two of karaoke with friends. The quality of the rooms is impressive! They're clean, well maintained and super fun! They have a great sounds system with lots of songs. There are lights that you can change to set the vibe and it's literally just a non-stop party once the music starts going! The service is also super kind! They bring you water and soft drinks (included in the room reservation) and they also have a menu that you can order additional food + drinks on. Really awesome place! Highly recommend for karaoke. read more

Tyson and Digna are great bartenders, they were quick and efficient and got me back on the stage for more fun. However, this experience couldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the hosts Emily and Mari and the great security guard Kari making sure we had fun all while being safe. The food was great I absolutely loved the wings and fries those are my go-to's whenever I visit Viva. Overall great experience whenever I'm here 10 out of 10!!!! read more

Dan, Sid, and David were the best!!! Went here for my friend's 21st and had a blast! Our waitress was also great and our room was perfect.

I've been to quite a few karaoke places and this is the absolute best one!! Why? The rooms are a great size and clean and beautiful. The screens are huge and all the technology was easy to use and actually worked (not like that everywhere). We did my daughter's 18th birthday party and the staff was so sweet, especially our host Kat! I also loved that there was karaoke going on in the main room! This means you don't have to rent a room to have a good time. Highly recommend this place!! read more

Staff trespassed a very popular LIVE streamer last night in front of hundreds on LIVE stream. The streamer got up to buy another drink and returned to his table and someone had sat there. He kindly told her he was sitting there and went to order another drink. She became very unruly and argumentative (witnessed by the LIVE stream). The staff called the police and trespassed the LIVE streamer who for two weeks in a row has spent hundreds of dollars in this establishment compared to her one drink. Many 1-star reviews are coming from those who witnessed this interaction on LIVE stream! read more

We NEEDED a place like this in Boston. Viva is right in the theater district and it is soo much fun. The private rooms are reasonably priced and they have happy hour. I highly recommend booking a private room for at least two hours. I booked a room for a company team outing and we all had a blast. The rooms were super high tech and they have an easy to use song selection system where you can control the volume, lights, and vocals. You also never need to leave the room for food and drinks! There is a service button where you can get everything brought to you. If you don't want to do a private room, you can go to the main stage, where you can make a song request and sing in front of everyone at the bar. Both options are great. I usually do both. Definitely come here for a night out with friends or a company outing. read more

This place is incredible! I went here for a birthday celebration and it couldn't have been better. We got a private room for two hours and the staff was incredibly nice working with our reservation. We got drinks, food, and two hours of singing in our private room. For drinks I got the lychee martini and the viva mojito, both were delicious and beautiful. For food we spilt the large platter of chicken, dumplings, fries etc and everything on the platter was delicious. After our res ended we enjoyed the main stage area where we got the public karaoke experience. Overall incredible night, viva is amazing! read more

I rarely leave reviews and was so excited to go to Viva but our experience last night was so unexpected and I'm hoping it gives caution to others before deciding to go here. I've never had this situation happen before where a completely valid US Citizen ID was rejected. We had a reservation and I read on the website in advance the accepted IDs rules but when we showed up, my friend with a valid US passport card was told that it was not an acceptable form of ID for drinks. The website and MA law explicitly states US-issued IDs are valid at Viva, which would include US passport cards. The bouncer insisted that passport cards were against policy for valid ID which meant no one in our group could get any drinks and we'd have to leave before midnight. Deposit was $50 and not refundable so I feel absolutely scammed by this ridiculous situation. Makes me question management's motivation for why US passport cards specifically aren't considered valid (contrary to their own website's information) or if this was an instance of bias against my friend which I really would hate to believe to be true read more

Such a great karaoke spot near Chinatown! I came here with a large group of friends, making our reservation a couple weeks in advance. Their interior is space like and similar to ktv spots in Asia, elaborate and heavily decorated! They have two applications in which you can find ktv songs so you will likely be able to find any song you want. They even give complimentary water and soda which is a big plus considering most places charge for both! The staff was also super friendly and they came very quickly anytime we called them. We had such a fun time here and 100% plan on coming back. read more

Very fun time in a private room. I Staff was very attentive and came immediately if we pressed the service button. Food was mid- but it's a karaoke bar not a fancy restaurant. My friend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to get boba in Chinatown and boy, are we so glad to have found it! The interior is very new and clean with bright lights - the perfect place to test out your singing chops in public with some liquid courage. What we were most interested in were the private rooms. It is $45/hour before 7 PM and we got there around 6:30 PM. FIRST, there are different light settings in the room and that was fun to play with. SECOND, water comes with the room AND they offer a cover for the microphone if you (understandably) are worried about the germies. People mentioned that there is a limited song selection but that's okay!! They still have a lot to choose from. For context, we were trying to find songs from Cheetah Girls 2 but those aren't available yet. There is some High School Musical though!!! AND THE BEST PART?? Because we were only there half the hour, they only charged me half the price which doesn't seem like a big deal but it is because I paid $22.50 for a whole lot of joy. #worth 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come here again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. To start off the concept is amazing and is so well done. The service was impeccable as soon as we arrived at our private room. A friend had made a small error resulting in quite a big inconvenience to the staff and it was handled OUTSTANDINGLY!! I was at another bar in Boston where something similar happened and they were crude and handled the situation horribly. Everything went so well I recommended a friend who booked a room for their birthday this Friday. I was there last Saturday and cannot wait to be there again this weekend! That is solely because of my great experience with the manager, bartender, and server Ken for our room. read more

When you walk into the karaoke place, there is an open area for free karaoke for the public. The decor of the place is pretty cute; I love the lights and the giant statue in the back! There is ample seating and tables for everyone. The bar is located next to the tables and you can order your songs at the front of the shop near the bar. We reserved a time slot and came a little early. They let us in early after waiting a little bit. The room was well insulated, so you can't really hear outside or inside the room. The lights of the room can correlate with the music and you can change the colors! I like how there are two screens, one for the front and one for the back, so you can face either direction. IMPORTANT: The music that is available is based off of a selection that they have there, so you can't queue whatever song or whatever remix you'd like. It has to be in their system, but they still do have a wide variety of music. They have Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc music, a lot of the classic American karaoke songs, and there is a limited YouTube option where you can find select remixes that they have in their system from YouTube. The service was very nice. The host helping us gave us a round of free shots as a welcome to Boston, because we were all from Utah! Very hospitable and friendly :) read more

I'd give this place one star if I could. I booked my reservation months in advance and they turned my party away day-of without forwarding. Maria C. Was completely inappropriate. she was our SERVER... and never checked in to see if we needed anything. She had a terrible attitude from the tine we came in and when she was addressed about her attitude she told us that we don't need to treat her like a "servant" although the title on our receipt was "server" we never treated her less than. we let many things slide until we couldn't anymore. Whenever we asked a question she was short. We saw other workers more than we saw her. When we complained to the manager she was removed from serving us any longer... as we were leaving she blew us a kiss being completely condescending. if I could post a "0" star I would. but unfortunately I have to give 1. read more

This venue is pretty spacious. The drinks are yum. I suggest trying the Lemon Drop Shots. The bar staff is quick. Lots of seating area. They have a great music selection. You can sing along with the aid of one large wall monitor in the rear and a medium sized to the singers left. The audience can help out because there is also a large wall monitor on stage. The stage is just the right size for you to sing your heart out. There is also enough space for some backup singers, like we did (LOL). There are props for you to use so you can feel like you're living the dream. They have several private rooms. I believe 20 people for $125 an hour. The room has 2 large wall monitors so your group can sing. There's plenty of seating, 2 mics, and you control the tunes. You will be assigned a staff member to bring the drinks ordered off the electronic wall tablet. If you have a large group of friends that really want to have a blast, the private rooms are the way to go. Fun, fun, fun. I guess by this review, you can already tell.... Would I come back heck, yeah? read more
