Came for the Switch 2 release and... wow. What a mess…read more Total disorganization from the start. There was absolutely no point in showing up early to line up, because earlier in the day they handed out numbers--and that determined your spot in line. So if you couldn't come at 3 PM (because, you know, people WORK), you were already out of luck. Then there was zero clarity on where to stand. Two separate lines: one for bundles, one for non-bundles. Total chaos, people crammed and bunched. Not an actual line. You'd think they would've at least started with the folks who had purchased bundles! Nope! We came back in April to pre-order and paid full price on the spot. You'd think that would mean something--but nope. At pre-order you only had to place a deposit if you wanted and pay the rest at pick up. No priority, no order based on pre-order numbers, which they should've done. Would've been much cleaner. People who walked in at 3 PM and just bought outright (no pre-order) got priority in line at 9pm, just because they got a number at 3pm. So come 9 PM, people walked up and went to the front. Meanwhile, we were still waiting. Honestly, this whole number system was a disaster. Never seen a launch handled so poorly. Their reasoning? The Switch units were stacked and labeled with numbers starting at 100 on top, so they handed out the higher numbers first to make distribution easier--just grab from the top of the stack. So those people, who came earlier in the day at 3, ended up at the front of the line. Meanwhile, we were number 17 out of 100... and still stuck in the back, even though we pre-ordered back in April. Again, they should've prioritized folks by their PRE-ORDER NUMBER. Make it make sense. Oh--and they didn't even limit the number of controllers per person. People walked out with armfuls, so by the time we got our "useless" number, they were already sold out. Whatever happened to the traditional first come, first served? It worked for a reason. Still standing in line as I type this. Just... incredibly disappointing.

That's it. No other effort. No explanation. That was it for the customer. You're S.O.L. Left me hanging, just standing there. You read it right. The employee Basira provided tragic service & TOLD ME IN FRONT OF MY KIDS THAT THE GIFT CARDS GIVEN TO THEM BY SANTA DID NOT WORK. IT IS ****HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT BASIRA TAKE EXTENSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. STAT.**** There was no "Well, let me see what I can do for you" or "Let me try and help you further or see what I can do." None of that. NOTHING. Again, I repeat...NO EFFORT TO HELP after that. I was aghast & it was unimaginable. Basira then turned the card over, scratched off the scratchable number that reveals a code in the back of the card. (I told her again, yes, these were new cards.) And swiped again. And did something else. She actually did not explain what she did or what went wrong. Just still trying to BLAME THE CUSTOMER. AND OF COURSE, THE GIFT CARDS WORKED! Of course they did! AFTER ALL, THESE GIFT CARDS WERE FROM SANTA, DANGIT! As I said all along. By this point, I just wanted to get the heck out of this Claire's. I can tell you that I'll never buy a gift card from here again & will be telling all my friends with little girls. And I know a lot of them at school, at the PTA, in our scouts, in clubs, on and on. Usually I like to stop by Claire's to buy a prize or reward for my girls, but I will really have to rethink ever doing this again. There are many other stores to buy prizes from (hello, Target) that don't treat their customers like the dregs of humanity & they actually offer helpful service. Not a DGAF attitude. And will no longer be doing the buy 3/get 3 free like we do. So if this gal is there, STEER CLEAR of redeeming a gift card & don't expect to be helped like you actually matter. This abysmal customer service has ruined my ever wanting to go to this Claire's again.

I understand that this may be company policy, but as a regular customer who has spent hundreds of dollars at this store, I expected a little more consideration. Other major home improvement stores, such as Home Depot, are often more accommodating when a customer doesn't have a receipt. I've been a loyal, regular shopper at this Ace Hardware, but this experience has changed my opinion of the store. Unfortunately, they have lost a regular customer and I'll be taking my business to Home Depot going forward. It's disappointing to lose a loyal customer over a relatively small return when I've supported this store with hundreds of dollars in purchases.

So don't bother to ask because you might not like how you might be treated for having the audacity to interrupt someone with such a mundane question. You might feel like someone turned the hands of time back and you were living in pre 1965 America, when certain groups of people felt entitled to (and got away with) talking down to "other" groups of people. I found the store to be a bit disorganized and some of the aisles were too cluttered to walk through. The prices are what I expected, but the terrible customer service and lack of restroom access cut our visit and our spending short. Although I made contact with their corporate office concerning my unfortunate interpersonal experience with a specific staff member at this location, and the corporate office responded with understanding, kindness, an explanation of how they were gong to correct things, and a gift card, I will never set foot in this particular location again, ever. In fact, it will be a long time before I shop at Michaels again, if at all.
