I can see why this store has such poor reviews. Came here 3/4 after work at 5pm. I bought my phone here and had a good experience. I had them transfer all my information from my old phone to the new one. I noticed a few weeks later that it was glitching out which I (and my husband) thought was due to the transfer of info, so we came back to the store where I bought my phone. Thought that made sense. So...we added our name to the queue and waited our turn. After an hour I got called. The woman that walked over had ZERO customer service. As I was explaining the situation she had a blank expression and finally my husband chimed in and the only thing she said is: did you got to the Apple Store. Not a hi, thanks for waiting, how can I help you? I get that according to her we were in the wrong place but there is a way to say it nicely. Seriously just a rude lady. I know it is the end of the day but come on. I've worked retail and sometimes it's not fun but you have to be cordial. So, we will be going to the Apple Store. Management should really work on training their employees or maybe it's just her. The other folks there seemed to be smiling and nice. Waited probably 45 minutes for a condescending short chubby scruffy Asian dude that works nights was trying to pull a fast one on me and tried to pump his numbers up and push an upgrade through without confirming anything with me. Tried to disguise a plan upgrade and a terrible trade-in as "only $6/month more" He cancelled an active trade-in on my account worth $1,100 and is now only showing up as $830 probably just so he could get credit for the upgrade. Once I recognized what he was doing, I told him that I didn't approve, and he dramatically crumpled up a piece of paper, puffed a huge sigh and said "okay, bye" and walked away. I've been a Verizon customer for over 20 years, and I've never been this disappointed. My bill suddenly went up $20 every month, so I called to find out why. The agent told me they would "expedite" my call, but instead I was put on hold for over 3 hours and 10 minutes--I actually had to sit through the last hour while out at dinner with friends who couldn't believe what I was dealing with. When I finally gave up and called back the next day, I was on hold for another 30 minutes. I spoke with a supervisor named Linda, who offered me nothing more than the same $30 credit I OFFERED the day before in 1st 5 minutes of the call. and absolutely no explanation for the price increase. I asked her to escalate to her manager, and she refused to give the manager's name and said she could do nothing further. After a combined 4+ hours on hold, this is completely unacceptable--especially after being a loyal customer for two decades. I'm attaching a screenshot of my call time to show how bad this was. If Verizon can't fix this and treat long-time customers with respect, I'll be switching my wireless, internet, and home services to another provider. Received one of my phones (Samsung Flip 7) via delivery; it was a defective batch. Went to exchange it at this location; I was the first in line when they open at 10am. Was immediately greeted and helped. Ian was great; he was patient and completed the exchange. We ran Into an issue while exchanging the new phone but everything was done within 45 minutes. If there was no issue, I would been in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Very clean and tidy store, multiple staff on duty and great location in Mission Valley. read more

The absolute worst Verizon store and associates I have ever had to deal with. We came in to purchase 2 prepaid SIM cards. This process typically takes 15-30 minutes, from all prior experiences in the last 10 years we've done this. The associate had the numbers and SIM cards prepared, so she charged our credit card. She proceeded to work in the back room to do whatever it was she had to do. We were waiting in the store for 30 minutes before she came out to say that's she's working with support to get the SIM cards processed. Very unusual but we decided to wait as she said it wouldn't take that much longer. Another 30 minutes pass and it is ridiculous at that point on why we are waiting that long with no precise reason. The manager had to tell us that there was a problem with the SIM card system and they were not sure when it would be back up and running. We requested a refund, which they instead said the transaction would be voided. No documents were given to us for the charge or void. A few days later we see the charge actually go through so we go back to the store to ask for a refund. My mom waits in the store for AN HOUR, before someone actually helps her. And no help was actually provided! All the associate said was, call customer service. So you made my mom wait one hour just to spew some useless "help". I do not recommend coming to this location as they will make you wait and not provide any actual assistance. read more

I've never had great luck at this store, but it's convenient. I had an appointment at noon to upgrade my phone. Checked in at the front, told that someone would be right with us. 20 minutes later I asked when I'd be helped. Turns out no one checked me in. After finally being seen and letting the employee know what I wanted and asking what the best deal would be in regard to potential new plans, monthly payments, etc. he went to the back. THIRTY minutes later I asked where he was. Another employee went to check in the back for him. She came back out, said nothing to me, and went to help another customer. When I approached her a few moments later she said "oh he's coming. He'll be out any second." At this point it was 50 minutes after my arrival. Finally 5 minutes later he came back out with some information about phone buying options. When I inquired about plans he looked blank, clearly forgetting I had asked about that and told me the phone options were the same either way. From there the purchasing process was quick. Maybe he was new, or there was an issue, but tell me or check in with me instead of just leaving for half an hour. Convenient or not, I won't be back. read more

SHAME on Employee Robledo.. she is absolutely the rudest witch that should not be working in customer service. I came in with my elderly mom. This lady was SO rude to my mom so I went Inside to help her. This lady gave my mother and I a number that does not even work. This number is for Verizon employees she told me she can't help me I have to call this number. I tried to explain explaining very nicely. The number is listed for verizon employees and I pulled up the number on the Internet and there's other people saying that this number is for employees. 1888-866-6924. I even showed her on the Internet. This number is not working for Verizon customers. All I needed help with is my mother reported her iPhone and iPad lost so they blacklisted her devices. All I was asking for was them to be off black list since we found them. Can you please help. She said she cannot do that. She does not even know of a phone number to do that on and she doesn't have anyone that can help us. I told her we have an account with Verizon. She should be able to at least give us a phone number that works or let us speak with someone else she said no she cannot do that and she doesn't know how to help us and then she looked at me and said I can ask you to leave the store. I've been a Verizon customer for years and am generally happy with their service. I want to update my old iPhone with a newer, more modern phone so I came here to get a new phone. I made it clear from the start that my only purpose here was to get a new phone. Yet I was subjected to at least a half hour of sales tactics attempting to sell me streaming services that either I already have or I don't want and will never use. I kept attempting to explain that I am here only to get a new phone and am not interested in any of the additional services the sales person kept trying to sell me. I had brought my tech savvy grandson with me to help me with any purchase and he had to witness me being subjected to the non-stop sales tactics trying to sell me things I don't want and futilely saying "no" over and over again. Final nails in the coffin: they would not let me purchase the phone outright. I was told I have to get any new phone on a monthly payment plan. Also, they wanted to charge me to transfer the data from my old phone to a new one. Realizing that Verizon's only purpose here seemed to be selling expensive, unwanted additional services, not to sell new equipment, we simply got up and walked out of the store. They never did get around to showing me any phones that I was interested in. I'll get my new phone elsewhere. UPDATE 4/11/2026: I appreciate the Business Owner replying to my review. I ended up purchasing a new iPhone 17 at the Fashion Valley Apple Store with an extremely positive experience. Even though the Apple Store was mobbed, we were assisted by a sales rep in less than a minute after we walked in. I explained what I wanted and she showed us the difference between various models - no sales pitches (I don't think they even sell streaming services). Only answering my questions about phones. I decided on the new phone which was promptly brought out. The Rep did a preliminary set up and after I paid for the phone (yes, they let you pay the full price up front), I was then escorted to the "setup" area where another helpful employee did the transfer of my old phone to the new one - no extra charge, part of the purchase. In less than a half hour, we walked out with my new phone that I paid slightly less than Verizon charges for the same model. I never felt pressured to buy anything I didn't want and was never subjected any misrepresentations (seriously? I can't pay full price? Extra charge for the simple task of transferring the old phone to the new one?) So, just a suggestion, move your business model away from using high pressure tactics of selling pricey streaming services that your customers wouldn't normally purchase. Get back to promptly assisting your customers in purchasing the wireless equipment that they originally visited your store for. read more

I showed up 25 minutes before closing after losing my phone in the ocean and simply needed a replacement SIM card--a process that typically takes less than 5 minutes. Despite the store being completely empty and multiple employees standing around doing nothing, I was met with attitude and condescension by LB, who identified as the night supervisor. LB curtly told me they wouldn't help me without an appointment, even though the store was clearly not busy. I explained the urgency of my situation, but LB doubled down with a dismissive and unprofessional tone. Instead of offering any assistance or basic courtesy, she acted like I was inconveniencing her for daring to walk in during posted business hours. This was not just poor service--it was outright rude. The "manager" of this store really should be fired. After spening 2 hours on verizon chat in the morning to get my phone cellular turned back on- I was told I *HAD* to go to the store. Trying to avoid this, I went to apple and they got everything going except I had to go back to the store and get my phone reactivated- a process he said that would take 5 minutes. Arrived at the store- signed in... waited a half hour and finally the same little snot that everyone else seems to be talking about with his neck tattoos, acting like he so put out to have to work on my phone. I ask him what happened so I never have to go through this ordeal again. Couldn't tell me. So phone rep doesn't know, this guy doesn't know. I'm getting more frustrated because it looks like he's not sure what needs to happen. I ask him how I can make sure it doesn't happen in the future and I get this snarky, antagonistic comment: "I don't know what's going to happen in the future". Really, kid? I'm getting mad because I feel like I'm spinning my wheels here. It's supposed to be a quick fix. I'm asking him questions and he is pretty much ignoring me. I see the "manager" going in the back and he gives me a dirty look- I look back at him and say "can I help you?!" He tells me I need to keep it down. I'm getting angry because all I am getting from this guy is snarky non answers. Then he comes over like this is his big chance to play cop and grabs my phone and says I need to leave the store. He would not give me his name, so I went to take a picture of his nametag or whatever (it was backwards so I couldn't see his name) Then suddenly all the asleep employees woke up- and started yelling at me. The "manager" if you can call him that-- this was the most laughable excuse for someone in charge, proceeded to pull his hoodie so I could not see his face. This is the only Verizon store I ever have a positive experience at in San Diego. I want to give a shout out to Victor who was super knowledgeable and he properly explained the updated phone plans. (I was ordering the new iPhone so our plan needed updating). Earlier in the week I went to a different Verizon location and did not feel confident in the service I received. Victor provided me with excellent customer service and went the extra mile! I had a lot of questions and he had the answers! I was gathering information regarding a third party phone called Raz, which is specialized for the elderly. I was planning to purchase the phone for my grandma and Victor put me at ease verifying I could add it to my plan and provided me with a SIM card for the new line. Worst possible experience I've ever had with a phone company. Opened an account at this location a few days ago and already they have VIOLATED MY PRIVACY, never answer the phone, keep you waiting for hours and promise things they can't keep. My bill is much higher than discussed, and credits we agreed on are not reflected on the bill. I sent my brother to fix it, given I'm drive away from this location and they NEVER answer phone calls. They let him go through all my bills, receipts and even let him order something through my account. When it came to fixing the situation regarding the credits, the employee lan told him "actually, you know what I just remembered? You're not an authorized user on the account so we won't fix that for you." Mind you, HE HAD ALREADY GIVEN HIM ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT and had him sitting there for 2 hours prior. If that's the case, then lan violated my privacy by allowing him into my account and to order something in the first place. So unprofessional and a huge waste of 2 hours in your store. Be mindful when opening an account at this location. ENDED UP DRIVING 3 HOURS TO GET THEM TO FIX THE SITUATION. Waited 2 hours after that to finally get help. Left happy even after waiting, or so I thought. They agreed to waive the activation fees on my bill for all of the inconveniences. I drive back home 3 hours and the fees are NOT waived. Here I go waiting on the phone with customer service again for another hour AGAIN hoping they can do something before I have to drive down there AGAIN. read more

I went to this location and the rep I seen there sold me on lies. Long story short I had to return the new phone I purchased and revert my plan back to the old because I had been lied to about the additional fees that would come with the new plan and phone. I would have ended up paying three times the cost of the new phone if I would have kept things as the rep had convinced me to do. When I went back to return the phone and revert my account back the rep I seen was very rude. I would not recommend this location nor Verizon to anyone. I was staying at a resort near this location for the 4th of July weekend and stopped in to upgrade my son's phone, which was barely holding a charge anymore. I informed the nice lady who was helping me that we were interested in the upgrade, but only if it wouldn't take a long time, as previous experiences at Verizon involved lengthy processes. Long story short, I had to return multiple times. The second time I came back, the nice lady was gone, and the manager ended up "helping" me. I will still have to go back a third time because my frustration led the manager to tell me that they could no longer assist me and I would have to go somewhere else. I should have checked Yelp (many bad recent reviews) first to see they only had 2.5 stars before experiencing their terrible customer service myself. It's unfortunate that this new crop of unapologetic bad service is going to put their generation out of a job. T-Mobile, here I come! They look so nice and competent at my local Costco, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer besides excellent service. I had names of multiple individuals but am deliberately not sharing them here as I don't want to directly help put someone out of a job. I returned the equipment to the Verizon store in lemon grove on the same day and I thought that would end my association with that company but lo and behold a month later I received a bill for $152. I have service from at&t and don't need Verizon. I have contacted Bbb and submitted a complaint for fraudulent charges. Next im contacting a tv consumer reporter. Wow! This company is corrupt! I walked in there tonight an hour before closing. My phone wasn't holding a charge or turning on at all (I bought it two months ago). The man "helping me" (Asian, late twenties/thirties, scruffy) was more than unhelpful. He basically attempted to plug it in for two seconds and then proceeded to tell me "well, the motherboard seems fried." When I asked what that means and how to go about fixing it, he answered in a snarky tone "well it's a machine so it just happens. Nothing we can do. You'll need a brand new phone. Try apple." He was unhelpful, unapologetic, and nonchalant. Seemed like he couldn't care less to explain the issue to me in detail. The kicker is- I went to Apple immediately after and the technician literally pressed two buttons on my phone, reset it, and it turned on in LESS THAN A MINUTE. So all in all he was clueless. With all the bad reviews here, I feel like I needed to review this store as honest as possible so that they receive the credit that they deserve. Came there yesterday because of my phone suddenly giving me a "no sim" message, and it only has the SOS. Tried troubleshooting it myself at home, but realized right away that I needed a new SIM card. I waited for about 10 mins. as they were very busy. But as soon as I got helped it was very smooth and easy, not only that they were able to replace and reactivated my SIM card pretty smoothly, but they were also able to take care of an issue that I didn't even know existed. My Apple Watch not being connected to the network when I'm paying for the service for it. They fixed that also, so now I can use my Apple Watch independently without piggy backing off of my phone. Whoever set up my phone and watch initially screwed up, but that wasn't these guys' issue. It was that Verizon employee that I dealt with on the phone 2 years ago that screwed me, and tricked us into being locked in to a 30 month phone plan with a supposed "free iPhone 13" when in all reality the bill went up by $100 from att before the switch, so we definitely paid that "free phone" during the course of 2 years. If I can give anyone any advice, be careful with those very sweet deals that Verizon offers. Especially over the phone, it seems like they'll do anything to sell a deal no matter what it takes. But that isn't a reflection of this store itself. The people that work in this store are very respectful and offers a great customer service. Thank you to the men and women that works in this store. As for Verizon, I'll probably switch elsewhere in a month once my phone is paid off. read more

Verizon's return policy is a joke. I bought a phone case for the new iPhone 15 and chose the option to have my receipt emailed to me (not a current Verizon customer). Email never came. And now that I found a better phone case for 1/5th price of the Verizon one, that is also nicer and want to return the case that is in perfect condition/never used, they won't accept or work with me. Was willing to take store credit to get a charging cord instead and can't help me. I called the corporate number, also can't help me locate the receipt they never sent me. I had a really bad experience at this location that I need to talk about. A month ago, I went to their store literally, just to get a Sim card, for a couple of phones, the employee there, told me about "new plans that were cheaper" to upgrade my business phones but they didn't tell me it would cost me a lot more because I was on an old plan. When I talked to customer service later, they literally told me that I would be paying thousands of dollars more, for this new plan and my old plan was grandfathered. So I did everything through customer service, just because they were telling me things, that the branch didn't tell me. "Go figure, if you return your phones via mail, you don't pay a restocking fee, something that they didn't share with me. Today, I went back to upgrade my phone, and the manager told me he couldn't help me at his store. Even though I always pay my bills on time and was just trying to fix a mistake they made, it feels like they don't want me in their stores anymore. I have a business plan and pay over $700 a month for all my devices. This is really bad customer service, and l've never seen anything like it. Imagine being banned from Verizon Wireless, all while giving them $700 a month. Definitely have to find a new carrier! read more

This 5 star review is dedicated to Lexi, who went above and beyond to assist me activating the eSIM on my replacement phone. I had to come into the store 3x in 3 days. The first day to submit a claim through my insurance. Jose took me back to one of the iPads and left me to figure out how to submit the claim and remove the "find my" feature from my broken phone. He went back up to the front of the store to visit with colleagues rather than walk me through the process. Got my new phone hand delivered by an Asurion agent that evening and he warned me that although I could transfer everything from my iCloud to new phone that I'd have to go into the store to get the eSIM activated. Thanks a lot, Verizon. Went in the next day and the girl who assisted me couldn't activate it, so she had to call tech support. The IMEI wasn't working right, so that's when I turned to another agent, Lexi. She multitasked and talked to multiple people in customer service and tier 2 tech agents to try and resolve the issue with my difficult IMEI # issue. No one was more helpful than her. After working a 12 hour day, being in the Verizon store for 2 full hours was the last thing I wanted to deal with. She was patient and helpful the whole time. It took 24 hours to reset the issue, so she called me the next day to try and troubleshoot the issue over the phone with me. Thanks for going above and beyond, Lexi! This store location has HORRIBLE customer service! I made an online purchase for in store pick up! i received my "your order is ready" email. I get to the store only to find out they gave my phone away in another order! The phone that was already paid for and shouldve been with the rest of my items. NOPE! Instead of them communicating with me letting me know what's happening, They canceled my order while I'd been waiting without ANY notification. THEN proceeds to tell me we have to go the thru then "ordering" process all over again AND re-charge me for the items I already paid for! There was NO ACCOMMODATIONS offered! VerizonCustomer "service" makes you want to break things and throw your phone through a window. They wrote and asked me how my 3 recent customer service was. I'll share my response: "It was heinous!!! Awful! Sucked! The worst. I spent --literally--hours with 3 of your offshore agents...tried everything possible to fix my iphone wifi glitch. Nothing worked. After really trying every possible fix, Nothing worked. First agent wrote remarks, saying to call back in 3 days and if still wasn't working they would send me a replacement iPhone 14. Told me to call back. I did. Another guy, Milo, then told me all the other hoops I still had to jump through. Another hour and documenting everything, he said, told me he would overnight me a new phone. And he took copious notes.It never came. He gave us "his" number. Called it. 3rd person says there are no remarks or notes foe either session and said I will not get a replacement phone. I will not deal with, much less pay a company like Verizon that lies, cheats, steals and has worst customer service EVER!!! read more
