Initially, I came in here incredibly vexed. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and didn't know where I should go. I just wanted to add a discount I get from job to my personal wireless account. I walked up to these 2 people behind the counter who weren't helping any customers and before I could say anything, this guy said "um can you sign in?" So I look to where his finger is pointed and proceeded to the computer. Then, outta nowhere, the store manager greeted me and asked for my name and signed me in. He said the wait would be 10-15 minutes. I figured that wasn't so bad so I walked around the store a few times and finally took an open seat. After about 10 minutes, the store manager asked one of the employees who was waiting for her customers to finish debating about something to help me. Since all I needed was to add a discount, she didn't mind. She was nice to me and I was happy the store manager sought an opportunity to get me some quick help so I'd be on my way. In the end, I got what I wanted, a discount added to my account. I wasn't happy with the fact that only 2 employees were actually helping people even though there were clearly 4 computers and 5 employees. Basically, the first person who rudely told me to go sign in ruined my experience. If it wasn't for him, I'd give it a 4 star. But he automatically put me (and every person after me who walked in) a snappy mood. He didn't smile or say please. HMPH! I think things would've gone a lot smoother if the employees helped each other out more. I was greeted on my way out by the manager. Spotted this location after stopping at an "authorized retailer" with only Verizon signage outside, so I was quite upset when I got inside and they're all, "oh we're not a REAL Verizon..." Anywhoo, this location rocked. There was a nice man trying to show me games to play on a pad computer while I waited for tech support, but tech support called me before I got to play with the computer. And tech support was great. They have a great team of people here who work well together, have a good time doing good work, they kept me entertained while we waited forever for my data to transfer to my new phone (my own fault, saved way too many texts), and they give their customers good service. Love this Verizon location! - Not inside the mall (dont have to deal w/ mall traffic and other dingdongs) - Parking is plentiful - Customer service is very knowledgeable and for the questions they dont have the answers to, they actually tell u that they dont know and go out of their way to get the answers for you. I thought they were going to give me some BS answers to my techi questions, but nopes... they had me pleasantly surprised. - Fast to greet and acknowledge their customers as well. I'll definitely return to this location for any and all of my Verizon needs. read more

When I had a Verizon branded phone the tech services here was great. Also, the sales people here are really friendly and helpful whenever you walk in. There are times when it has been really really busy, especially around lunchtime so i suggest going at another time. Otherwise, they will put you on a list and you can wait around playing with computers and phones. Now I only go in here when I have billing questions since I have an iPhone and buy my phones and get tech services at the Apple Store instead. There is plenty of parking in the lot so that is really helpful if it is busy inside. They also have good hours which helps when your phone decides to die at the most random hours of the day. This location at McCarthy Ranch is the TOTAL opposite to the one I went to at the Auto Mall! I did have to wait, but the wait was nothing compared to my last experience at a Verizon Store. I had called ahead and knew exactly what I was getting so I didn't have to beat around the bush. Thu was super friends and knows his stuff! I was in and out in NO time and everything was perfect. I even got my first check-in at this store with my new phone. Thank you VERY much and if I ever need any wireless services withVerizon, I will make sure to come here. Aside from the oustanding service, this location has plenty of parking! It is set up pretty much to the same way other Verizon stores, so nothing fancy here. read more

1 Star I take it back................all of it except the customer service part. They sold me a brand new BROKEN phone. Never had more than 2 bars, dropped at least 10 calls a day. Texts didn't get to me and my texts showed in my phone that they were sent, but they weren't received. Customer service used to know all the phones inside-out, now when I call to see what the problem is, they pull up a manual on their computer and try to look it up. They don't know the product anymore and will ALWAYS try to dismiss it as a "dial *228 to update" problem. The one month I had my phone, I "updated" at least 5 goddamn times! and none of it made a difference. Ended up going back to AT&T and getting an iPhone. read more

Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a tablet carrying greeter who explained what number I was to receive help and estimated time. There was no wandering around wondering when I would receive help. My sales/technical support guru was Chien Nguyen - he basically rocks. I was transferring my work phone to my personal phone. Not only did he answer at least 20 questions, he efficiently got the line switched over and then provided me with his personal email address and cell phone if any questions came up after I leave the store. I did end up having to connect with him about 3 weeks after he got me all set up and he was able to resolve a minor billing issue I was having. Truly excellent support and service! read more

I bought a phone today and screen saver and case. They screen saver was damage so I went back to store less than a hour later and was told I would have to use the dealer warranty they will not help me at store. Than the manager Roland spent the next few mins telling me all the things verizon will not do for me. He was in no way helpful and told me to call the dealer if I wanted any help. vz sucks. if you are a biz customer, dont ever expect any level of support from their consumer side who works the during weekend. dont expect any support from their 800 biz side. one needs to deal w whatever company your company decided to outsource the work to. all will give you the run around. even if you try to call the 800 number on the packing slip, they will tell you to bugger off and turn you to an office that is closed during the weekend. no point coming here. when i had an att biz account, i could walk into a store for xyz assistance without issues. i can call the biz line for assistance during the wknd. not w vz. too much bureaucracy and penny pinching. read more

The next day when I called again the guy told me the next upgradeable date will be next year on May 2012. I had a problem with my sim card for my phone and came over here to fix it. It was about 6, prime time for people getting off work at other areas but there was only one other customer in front of me and one customer rep working. The manager was walking around looking busy and told me I'd be helped soon but it took 20 minutes for someone else to come out and help me and another 20 minutes to fix my problem. Could use a little lesson in efficiency but things got done I suppose. read more

Horrible customer service! I went in to purchase the Samsung s7 due to the commercials saying it is water proof and can go into fish tanks and get wet and still work. When I went to purchase it Janelle who is very rude said the phone is not water proof nor can it go into water or have champagne poured on it because it will break. I said the commercials depict a different review and she said that's something I need to take up with Samsung and not her. She did say if it breaks I could pay $100 to get a new phone through insurance but what's the purpose of that. Avoid this location if you can. read more

Why dont you hire 2 more people and there would be no wait. Its easy logic , you pay someone 20 bucks an hour, but every sale you make is hundreds... so hire more people and make more sales. Very happy with my Verizon experience. I was a Metro user (I know, collective groan) looking to change. I went to the AT&T store first and spent over an hour there while the salesman and manager tried to talk me into the new "Next" program. Clearly there is a bonus in it for the salesman because the manager told me it was stupid not to do it. That was the point that I left and went to Verizon. My Verizon sales person, Tan, actually listened to what I wanted and helped me quickly. He made recommendations but did not push anything that I didn't want. I bought two new phones, service and a bunch of accessories. The store manager, Mike, was also very helpful. I highly recommend this Verizon store if you want to avoid pushy sales people. AT&T's insistence that I buy a product I didn't want, pushed me out the door and into the arms of another provider. And for that I am grateful because it saved me money too! It took me a while to figure out why the AT&T store was so busy and the Verizon store was calmer and less hectic. Now I know why...because AT&T wastes so much pushing their newest whatever and NOT LISTENING, that it dominoes and makes everybody wait longer. Somebody needs to look at that. But me? I'll just enjoy my new Galaxy from Verizon. So there. read more

Verizon had a reputation for superior service. Not at the McCarthy Ranch, Milpitas office. If you ask for something, such as a battery or special service and their answer is "no" they just drop you and don't offer help you with your problem. They don't suggest alternates. They don't make suggestion, they just answer with a monosyllabic "no" and stare at you. read more

The staff here as far as I've experienced are absolutely amazing. I've been to other verizon stores (mercado, malls, etc) and they were JUST meh. Doing their work. So on so forth. Not this store. Not Tuyen Nguyen! The bf and I walked in 15 minutes before closing one night cuz we were in the area after getting massages and he wanted to look at the curve. He at the time was with sprint, but they had already closed so we hopped on over to Verizon cuz I had verizon. That night Tuyen, was extremely curteous not pushy as we were just browsing through phones. After much discussion and debate we decided to take advantage of the buy one blackberry get one free deal and signed him up with verizon so I got to upgrade my EnVy to the curve yay! Tuyen and his manager? walked us through all the steps and was helpful and informative without rushing us to get done. We walked out of there happily fiddling with our 2 new blackberrys and unlimited data plan. 3 weeks later I somehow cracked my blackberry screen and brought it in to see Tuyen. When we walked in, I was surprised and slightly embarrassed that he remembered both of us by name, as we'd been in a couple more times for things here n there. He let us know he'll be with us in a moment. As I waited for him to finish with his last customer, I was watching the other associates and how they handled other customers, and from I've seen, I think everyone walked out of the store happy. When Tuyen got to see my phone he immediately went to the back to speak with his manager to see what he could do. He didn't want us to go through the hassle of insurance, and brought to me a couple of different options, both cheap and reasonable. I really appreciated the fact that he tried to help instead of pushing the sale of another blackberry on me which others would have easily done. In the end I walked out with a replacement blackberry and was pleased with the service received. Oh and they have a bowl of candy on the counter... what?! free candy?? I'm down! =) read more

This store is running a shady operation. Two weeks ago I show up at the McCarthy Ranch Verizon store in Milpitas, CA and ask if I can pre-order the Droid X They told me flat-out that they cannot accept any pre-orders for the phone, so I show up to the store this morning prior to opening to get in line. When I arrived there was about 5 people ahead of me in line. The doors hadn't opened, but the store manager was outside getting people's information. When he gets to me, he informs me that they only had 10 phones in-stock and that they were all spoken for. WHAT THE F**K?!?!? A couple of other guys arrive behind me and tell the manager, "We spoke to Chris earlier." The manager just acknowledged the guys and didn't give them the same information he told me. I was furious, so I just left. I called the Verizon customer service number and they also confirmed that they were not supposed to accept pre-orders for the Droid X. I guess it's safe to say that unless you're buddies with Chris, you're not getting a Droid X today from the McCarthy Ranch Verizon store in Milpitas, CA. Sufficed to say, I will never come back this Verizon store. read more

This store only wants to make more money. Please do not fool yourself with their large store. My phone was dead. I have been there waiting for a long time and they told me that I am not eligible for the upgrade. I went to ANOTHER store (in Oakland rd) and they simply show me my Verizon profile which indicates I was eligible for the upgrade: a very good deal to buy a cellphone. In this store they want people to buy devices in full price. They do not even bother themselves to look into your profile and guide you. 30 minutes of my Saturday wasted!!!! My husband has to buy a Verizon LG phone for work. We walked into Verizon telling them we just need to buy the phone. We don't want it to be on service and no contract. The employee at the door told us he thinks they have it but is not 100% sure. He took down our name and told us to wait. There were a few people there before us so we waited until our turn. When we thought that it was our turn, the employee started helping people that came after us. Finally when we were the only one left that's not being helped, one of the employee came and ask us how he can help. When we told him we want to buy the phone, we were told that they do not sell phone off service. It is fine that this is their policy but they should have told us that before the 30 minutes wait. Also, if you have one employee dedicated to be at the door taking down names and asking what people are here for. That person should be able to tell customer what they can and cannot do. Or at the very least, make sure customers are being helped in the order they come in. Side note: we took our $600 business to Best Buy across the street right afterward. Not only did we get the phone, they even gave us a $150 gift card. So thank you Verizon for not selling us the phone. read more

I asked him very politely how much longer the wait was going to be. He said once he had a person available I would be helped. I was confused the store was pretty much empty and I had been waiting a half a hour already. Then one lady was about to help me and he sent her on lunch. WTF I get people need lunches I'm not mad about that but being in retail they should really plan better or shut down for lunch or just tell me that it would be an hour or so before anyone could see me. No instead he says "sorry I have to obey by government laws, I know people don't need lunches" in a very sarcastic and (excuse my French) B***chy tone. At that point I had had it I was storming out that door then I finally got helped. Idk what it takes to be a manager here but evidently you have to have horrible customer service skills and a crappy attitude, and you got the job. Aren't managers suppose to be the ones to keep clients, not pitch them an attitude and send them out the door? Version wireless needs to rethink his management position. Then the nicest lady named Kathryn helped me and SHE is the one that saved me from going to another carriar, that's right Paul was that god awful I was going to switch my phone service. Went here to get the new iphone 5s and talk about the slow service. The reason for the high stars is because the staff did the best they could to accomodate everyone. They had one person who was going around making small talk which at least went on to show they were trying. This verizon store management needs to do a better job of staffing. We waited for over an hour and a half before we were helped. If verizon didnt have a solid grip on our lives with their contracts we wouldn't have waited that long. #verizon read more

The guys here are awesome! Very customer oriented and attentive to absolutely everyone that walks in the door. Cristian helped me out greatly multiple times setting up my new phone and plan and made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Being Canadian made the process a bit more difficult but he managed to still get me all the credits and things I needed and all very quickly! They didn't have the phone I wanted in stock, so they ordered it for me and it arrived literally the next day. Wayne was also very helpful, he took the time to try and get a certain charge off my new plan for me. In the end it didn't work but I really appreciated the time he took to try. I will never go to this store because of what i've heard regarding the store manager, Rolan Burney. Absolutely an individual that can be defined as taking credit for others work and lacking empathy by not looking for the best interest of his team. I've seen the way he talks to his peers as he micromanages them and undermines them and manages them with fear instead of fairness. this is a clear-cut sign of a bad manager that you can not trust. Here is the why behind all of this: Rolan was a sales manager at the Saratoga location, he used a sales rep for his success to get to where he is at and to hold himself high after being promoted to the Milpitas location, had this individual fired right after having a baby to cover his success. I know this because I WAS a loyal customer to this individual for 5 years as I HAD 67 lines of business with Verizon, now with T-mobile. This ex sales rep tried to get promoted to be a manager 6 times and was in a leadership progam! why would anyone want to work for this guy that doesn't promote someone working there for 5 years!? This manager obviously doesn't look to give recognition to those working hard. I feel sorry for ANY employees working under this cut throat manager. No leadership throws his team-mates under the bus like that. Oh and Verizon just lost another 60 lines I was needing to open. read more

I went to this store Labor day just when the store open. I needed immediately assistance because my phone died and I used for work. The store was empty with 2 employees. Leon came to help me or I though.... He never took his eyes from his tablet completely ignoring me. He was rude and not willing to sell for what I saw. I left the store. Nothing is worse to me that a salesperson that won't make an effort to pretend he is interested to help a customer. I ended out going online and bought the phone directly from Motorola and for a cheaper price. I will not recommend anybody to go to this store. read more
