Worst store! Sent Assistant to purchase new phone for Boss. Asked to come down to approve purchase which I did. Once there told having computer issues. Then told call 611 to get authorization for employee (why I'm here now). I mentioned again phone broken can't use phone then told use your own phone. Then told to call customer service 800 for Asst to purchase phone (why I'm here & primary on acct). I asked worker to please call from store phone both store clerks said you can call from your phone yourself & told me the number. (By the way No one in the store.) REALLY!! Today we went into this Verizon store to switch from AT&T. There were some technical difficulties and it took longer than expected; however, the staff Daniel and Kim were helpful and knowledgeable. They worked together to solve the issues we were having and provided everything we needed for our transition to the new carrier. I ordered a phone through verizon.com they offered same day pick up and this was the closest store with my phone. I called later that day and they said they do not have the order. Tried a couple of days later and they said they have the phone to come in for pick up. When I got there the sales rep was trying to cancel the order and reorder. I imagine this was to make a commission since my order was through the website not through that store. I told him not to cancel the order that my phone was sitting right there. I asked to speak to the Verizon rep who was on the line to and he hung up the phone so I could not ask her to have him release the phone. I was going to let him reorder the phone, but then he said I must buy a case and screen protector to get the phone! WHAT? I already had these and refused so he refused to sell me a phone. I was very pleased with my dealings this week with salesperson Ciera and the purchase of a new Samsung Galaxy phone. I've been there several times in the past year and never had to wait, and always got helped. Terrible! Just simply put terrible! Went in for the new iPhone 12 pro max because they are sold out EVERYWHERE. I was told that if I wanted to purchase it in store that I'd need to purchase a bundle of accessories as well. (Sounds false , but whatever I need a screen protector and case anyway right.) Get there and the guy (Kirk Caldwell) was saying yeah you get a discount on the accessories when you buy a bundle, and some other hoopla about the saving being 70$ bucks. He sets my phone up and AT THE END says oh yeah you save 70$ but because it's a bundle you get that towards other accessories. I'm like you're talking way too fast, sounds like a scam. This man then proceeds to give me 70$ WORTH OF HAND SANITIZER! Like dude I wouldn't want to have my PHONE ACCESSORIES be HAND SANITIZER. Don't know how to rate this location ZERO STARS but I wish I could. Firstly STOP!!!! go directly to a authorized Verizon dealer. Bought a phone at this location with a ""factory defect"" Severe lack of communication and lack of return phone calls (I called at least 6 times with no return call) and extremely poor customer service by supposedly a store manager????, actually zero customer service lead to this review. I will factory reset it, he said, it will be fine , he said.... it wasn't!!!!! I was unable to return my factory defect phone for a brand new replacement phone. It only got worse from there. Upon receiving my factory refurbished replacement phone after only three months with my brand new $700 phone I happened to check on the $300 promotion offered me by the salesperson/manager at this location in order to secure the deal, only to find out that the promotion deal was NEVER applied to my account. Imagine my surprise....my $400 great deal turned into a factory defect $700 phone with NO HELP, NO EXPLANATION, AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THIS LOCATION AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS.... I'll give you a ride to any other store!! FYI..... the real Verizon.... stepped in... stepped up....replaced my defect phone, credited my promotion of $300 and restored my faith in what customer service really means!!!! read more

I had a pretty bad experience here today trying to get a new iPhone. In the past I have upgraded to a new device every two years by paying an upfront amount and then signing a new 2-year contract, which is what I hoped to do this time. Ha! I was greeted by a woman who I believe to be the Assistant Manager but I didn't get her name. She was with another customer but told me I could ask her my question. When I said what I wanted to do, she asked for my phone number, last 4 digits of my social, and my password. The other customer was standing right there, so I said I felt weird audibly speaking all of this information. She offered to let me type it in myself, but as things progressed I ended up having to say it out loud anyway, to the Manager of the store as the system ended up saying my password was invalid. I thought this was strange because I'd paid my bill last week using this password. This set off about a 10 minute discussion about resetting my password, including calling Verizon customer service. I asked to reset my password to the one I thought I was using, which is a word + a number. The AM then said something like, "the password has to be 4-5 numerical digits". Turns out they were asking for my billing password (it's more like a PIN number) which is different than the password you use on verizonwireless.com. I've never had to use it or give it before, and they did not specify, nor did she tell me the password I originally gave her couldn't be right because it had a word in it. She also didn't figure out the problem when I offered to login to MyVerizon on the computer, which should have tipped her off as well. She and the Manager then laughed about it, seemingly making fun of me because I didn't know what they wanted. I was tempted to walk out right there, but I didn't. Whatever, misunderstandings happen, so we continue. She then proceeds to tell me that the old way of paying $199 or so for a new phone upon signing a new 2 year contract is something that Verizon "doesn't do anymore". I said that sounded weird because that option is still available online. She says no, it's all monthly device payments that are around $30/mo until you pay off the full retail ($600+) price of the phone. I don't upgrade my phone every time a new device comes out so this option isn't ideal for me. She insists it's THE ONLY way, however. So I think OK, if I'm paying nothing up front right now and overall my monthly bill stays the same, then this is OK because it would essentially be a wash. She proceeds to tell me all about how I should get the 64GB instead of the 16GB because "[she] always runs out of space even though [she] deletes her pics and texts all the time" (Cool story, bro?) She tells me about how when she bought her phone at Best Buy, they gave her an insurance plan but that it wasn't a Verizon insurance plan so it was a confusing experience for her. She said my phone would come with an insurance plan too but I could cancel at any time! Confused, I asked her if it was a Verizon plan or an Apple plan, how much was it a month, etc... All information she seemed to be weirdly cagey about telling me. She said it was a Verizon plan, but after reading another review mentioning "ProtectCell" I'm wondering if that was true or not. You'd think it would be store policy to clearly outline what I would be walking out of the store with, but I guess not. I then said I wanted to purchase a screen protector. She said, "oh that comes part of the package you're paying for today". Uh, WHAT? What package? It was like pulling teeth to find out what this package was and how much it would be. First she said the taxes on the full price of the phone - which, fine, makes sense and should be about $60 or so. Then she said, "also other fees". It took 5 minutes of cajoling to find out that the other fees is actually the charge for them to set up the phone in the store - something like the "Good to Go Service". Exasperated, I asked her how much up front were we talking about? She pulled out a calculator and 5 minutes later she told me "$286". So, the price of a 64GB iPhone 6S if I were to buy through verizonwireless.com or Apple itself and go with a two year contract. It was at this point I told her that it was more financially responsible of me to go through the website versus the store, and sorry for wasting her time. I cannot express how exasperating this whole 45+ minute experience was. A customer shouldn't have to pull teeth to get information about what they are paying for. It's hard to convey exactly how many times she would say something, and then I'd have to ask her to clarify what she meant because the information she gave was done so very flippantly or in a confusing roundabout manner, but trust that it was a frequent occurrence. Edit: Having read other reviews I now realize this is an authorized reseller NOT an official Verizon store. The tacking on of fees, and lies about the 2 year contract - it all makes sense now. read more

I figure it should take a billing cycle for me to see the credit, but at least he made good. I have a little faith in this store. It should also be known that the gentlemen in this store are quite delightful, so if you must deal with someone, stick with them. Service was amazing. Ceira was very thorough and very knowledgeable about many different products in the store. I have been in with my daughter once before for an upgrade and the experience was very unpleasant and i was very hesitant to come back, however, being so close, I'd thought I would give it another go and I am very glad I did. I didn't believe it when Ceira had said she had only been with the company since October because not only was she polite and knowledgeable, but other employees were asking for her help repeatedly and she professionally took care of me while doing four things for me at once ( back up, upgrade, another line and setting everything up) , and them. Friendly sales guy. Poor results. Have been there already *four* times, each time with lots of smiles and promises. Went to transfer several phones from AT&T to get 2-for-1 Verizon deal. They told me that they could and would take care *everything* involved with the porting over and cancellation of my old AT&T service. After charging me for two months (current and forward) of service, I learned today from AT&T that they did not cancel my old AT&T service for me *and* the numbers did not get ported over either. So I was double billed for June. I wish I had never gone with these guys. Still hoping that they will fix this *and* refund at least a month's service that was billed *and paid for* but not received. So when we finally cancelled the AT&T service ourselves today, the Verizon phones quit working. Which kind of seems like Verizon was not the one that was making them work for the past month, even though they were happily collecting our cash. read more

I was told if I traded my phone in I'd get a $300 credit towards an iPhone 8. Another lie. I mailed the phone in and was given a $12 credit. Yes $12! I could continue on about how awful this company is, but that would take too much of my time. The manager is a lying piece of shit. The assistant manager is just as bad. It is independently owned or franchised (not sure about the exact terminology) and that definitely showed in the customer service. Justin, the Sales Consultant that assisted my daughter and me, was professional, courteous, and forthcoming about the various options as well as associated costs. He had patience with my questions and responded in a sincere manner. We left very satisfied customers, each with a new phone. I am in agreement with other customers on here-THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! I have never written under a 5-star review on Yelp. But, I felt the need to let the public know about the awful experience that this store has left me in. Back in April of this year, I dropped my phone and cracked it pretty badly. I was due for an upgrade and decided to go to the store in Lafayette after work. The staff was friendly and helped me right away. The employee, Ryan, said that with my upgrade, I could get a tablet with for free. I told him that I didn't want the tablet as my husband already has one. He continued to express over and over again that it was free and that it wasn't going to cost me anything except the taxes which came out to $14. I agreed after a lot of convincing-I wish I would have left the store at that point. Here is the reason why: he never told me that it would come with a monthly contract at $10 a month for two years. When I discovered that on my bill, I called Verizon and they told me that I would need to go back to the store to return the tablet. I tried to do that and the same people who were so helpful in the beginning were dismissive and told me that it was over the 14 days and that I would need to call Verizon. So, I did that. Verizon couldn't do anything for me. I made the decision to terminate the contract on this one tablet, which cost me $175 in early termination fees. Now, I am out $199 for a tablet that I didn't want. This was back in May. I thought we were done with the entire situation until yesterday when I got a letter in the mail from a lawyer stating that I owe A Wireless $200 for an early deactivation fee. That I signed a contract stating that if I terminated my contract early, then I owe A Wireless $200 for the early deactivation. I AM SO UPSET!! I now will have paid $399 for a tablet that I never wanted in the first place. This seems like the worst way to run a business. I honestly can't believe that people can be this way. I would advise never going to this store as you may end up with hundreds of dollars worth of stress. read more

I will never step foot in this store again. I have purchased two Iphone 4s's for my kids and they are both lemons;(refurbished) with the first one, the battery 30% died within less than 30 minutes and the battery shorted and everytime we take it to the store it works for them! We get a new one and I'm standing there noticing that the man was never switching my phone -he was making it worse. When I looked at it it still had the dust patch it had last time he switched and baited me! He also charged me 29.95 extra for it, and waited until the last minute to inform me there would be a charge! I power the phone off at 5% and i try to turn it back on and it dies. The minute I start using it it stops charging. I charge it again for an hour and its charged up to 5%, I immediately take it off the charger and it changes to 2% then its says i have 10% and it dies within a second. When I called to tell them that this second phone was not charging, like the first one, the girl was just snippy and told me to bring it back in! I spent an hour there this afternoon, am not going back in there again! They need to refund my money for both phones and the 29.95 that they charged me for the extra gigs. Never step foot in this place. I watched a woman get her new iphone 6 and its not even in the real Apple box its in a regular white box. The man spent 20-30 minutes in the back with my 2nd phone he came back and gave it to me like it was brand new. I waited 40 minutes while the sales associate was talking on the phone to a person about their iphone 6 and he just gave a woman one and he said they have to wait till the next shipment comes in. He didnt even give me the box with the charger, he said he was going to ship it back but yet he wanted me to call to get the contacts on my new phone. Please don't spend money in here; they should be shut down. If you notice most real Verizon stores say on the sign Verizon Wireless. On this one it said Verizon Wireless 4g premuim "retailer." Explains why they cannot take payments in the store, they are not a part of Verizon, they just represent the product in their store. Not good business at all! This store signed up my wife for a cell phone insurance plan without our knowledge and now they do not seem to want to resolve the issue. I have contacted the store on multiple occasions and they have done nothing but drag their feet and promise to "talk with the manager" so he can contact me. I have yet to year from the manager 3 weeks later. I have requested that they cancel the insurance and refund the 3 months of insurance charges that was charged to our credit cards but they keep talking about store credit. I do not want nor need store credit for this store. This store essentially robbed us so they could get a signup bonus from the mobile insurance company. I was just in this store this morning with a Moto phone that randomly went black screen on me the previous night. My Phone is needed for my job so not having it causes a lot of stress. They worked with me to try and fix the issue but unfortunately the phone was dead. Justin Cagle was the one working with me directly and when i was the only customer in the store Thomas even came over to offer his help who was very polite as well. I was able to get a newer phone and they took the time to set it up and even apply the screen protector and snap it into the case so it was 100% ready to use when i walked out of the store. I went to the Lafayette Verizon store today to inquire about new iPhone X-R and experienced somewhat rude and indifferent customer experience. There were two sales persons on the floor. One of them (probably the manager named of Jesse?). The sales guy who initially helped me was polite, but inexperienced. I asked about the X-R and the features of the phone and the special offer. When it came to the price of instrument, the manager quoted $760. When I asked about all the advertising at $750--including ATT's retail price or even other Verizon retail stores, he told me that I should get the phone from another place. I happen to have Verizon, which means I have to enter my local Verizon store, and it happens to be in Lafayette. Let me tell you, I enter this store and the staff bends backwards to not only keep my business, despite the crappy alternatives, but go above and beyond to guarantee my complete satisfaction. The one person in this store that I can credit with single handedly saving my loyalty is the charming Mr. Bryan Diaz. He connects with me as a person, listens to and values my needs, then delivers. Boom. His can-do attitude either reflects the management or infects it. All I know is that once I engage Mr. Diaz, the rest of the staff joins forces with him to do right by me. I not only leave this store completely satisfied, but flat out feeling great and impressed with the personal attention I receive. I actually rate this company 0. We were lied to from the first day. Fees on top of fees and we were told it all came with the service- not told about the extra fees! We were also not told that Verizon has terrible coverage in Lafayette until later after we spent a month trying to get some reception at our home. We lost calls and could not get any data. They kept telling us to use our wifi. Nice, but I am paying for Verizon data and not getting any and when I wasn't home and walking in Lafayette I could not get any data either. We were told we got $300 each for the phone we turned in, but when we had to switch carriers because of the poor service, Verizon kept the $600 because we cancelled the payment plan and bought the phone out right. But you can not keep the payment plan if you don't have Verizon service. Once when we called about the poor data we were told we should let Verizon put a cell tower in out yard!! Then when I cancelled it all and paid off the phones, I was given the wrong amount to pay and it will be 2 months before I get that $105 back. Also I was told by a Verizon representative on the phone that Verizon has a policy that if they can't give you coverage, they will refund the amount you spent. He actually read it from their policy manual. Yet, that never happened and when I called back I was kindly told that management reviewed it and that was not the case. I was not entitled to any other refund besides my over payment. Never waste your time at this establishment. We switched to T-Mobile and have Fantastic coverage everywhere and unlimited everything and our bill is less than half of the verizon bill. read more
