Then he walked me through a likely fix, which involved a couple routers networked so that I had independent wifi running on both floors of the house but on the same network. The tech came by and was super nice, and walked me through what they were going to do. I was cautiously optimistic. When they were done? I almost cried at how well everything ran through my house. They even set me up so I had ethernet directly to my gaming PC, and direct into my TV and Xbox. I have not had a single issue since (beside Comcast caused outages), and have blazing fast wifi throughout the house (I pay for the gigaspeed Xfinity). Adam came out from Zencom and quickly assessed the situation, spoke the language of my security company and developed a plan to replace the fire damaged cabling. Then, he gave a verbal quote for the next job (which again, he was over an hour late for), and that quote was inaccurate because of his incompetence in doing the job - he kept messing up and since he's charging by the hour, there's no incentive to do a job quickly and correctly the first time, as he said: "if there's anything wrong, you've got the warranty to fix it." Good thing I had the warranty, because a different tech had to come out and fix the problem from the second job - and he was still late, but I was given a phone call by his manager this time to warn me (I guess complaining induces manners), and he stayed less than half and hour because 1) he's a better tech (it was Randy, named in the prior review, and if I'd had him the first time I'm sure this review would be totally different) and 2) he's not getting paid by the hour. The business model of this company seems to be: "take a long time to do a crappy job the first time, and "fix" the job under the warranty plan." They don't put any quotes on paper first, because hey, then you've got proof of what they quoted you and how can they jack up the price afterwards? If you've ever taken a taxi in a foreign country and got taken on the "scenic route", that's exactly how I felt during my experience with this company - unprofessional and untrustworthy. I explained how I felt to both the tech's dispatcher and his manager and his account manager - nobody cared, and so I'm glad I'm not ever dealing with this crappy company again and would not recommend them to anyone.
