I would so give this place a 0 if I could!!!! I had a very disappointing experience at this non-corporate Verizon store and would strongly advise others to be cautious. We came in to switch our service, and the entire process was misleading from the start. We were quoted $140 for 3 lines but later we find that our bill is $250 for the 3 lines. We were told we were only paying for taxes and activation fees, but later found multiple unexpected charges added to our account without our knowledge or consent. Customer service later informed us that what we were charged wasn't even an activation fee, but something called a "Setup and Go" fee--which was never explained to us at any point. On top of that, additional charges labeled "remaining balance fee" were added for each line with no clear explanation. When I asked the associate to show me a breakdown of the charges before signing anything, she refused and said I could only see it after signing. She then emailed the breakdown while my phone was actively transferring, making it nearly impossible to review in real time. Very intentional and dishonest. To make matters worse, one of our lines couldn't even be ported over, which she failed to disclose. Instead, she went ahead and ordered a different phone without properly informing us or getting clear approval. I spent over 4 hours on the phone with Verizon customer service trying to fix all the issues that should have been handled correctly in-store. The condition of the store itself matched the experience--dirty, unorganized, and barely any phones on display. Overall, this was a frustrating and time-consuming experience filled with a lack of transparency and poor communication. I am beyond pleased with the service during my visit. Even though I did all the processing of switching services to Verizon via the phone, I had nothing but friendly service from the staff. Poor "Reily" was stuck with me over an hour trying to dig me out of a nightmare of a problem with my OLD provider! And she did a wonderful job. ALL the ladies present were very friendly and helpful! The best way to explain the atmosphere in the office in Rancho San Diego is blah The personalities of staff members at this store makes it feel uncomfortable. Also it is NOT a Verizon corporate store. They don't appear to be happy or helpful unless you are purchasing a new product. I was set up with a "business account" and was never told. Until I called the complaint department and they mentioned it was a business phone line. They "give" you a Galaxy pad.. but charge $30 per month for it set up line connection. When I returned the table the charged me $12! I will not ever go to a franchise store again, and especially this store! read more

$2,000 WORTH OF TRADE-IN PHONES STOLEN: I am writing this review to warn others about the ongoing issue we've faced with Victra and Verizon regarding their phone trade-in promotion. Anthony Sherman is our sales rep whos started this mess. About 1 year ago, we turned in our phones as part of the promotion, and Verizon claim they have "no record" of receiving them. As a result, Victra have stolen $2,000 in phone value that should have been credited to our account. Instead, we are now forced to pay for our new phones in full without any credit for the trade-ins. We have spent countless frustrating hours attempting to resolve this issue with no success. Verizon acknowledged that our payment plan ended up being about $150 more than what we originally agreed to, yet they (Verizon) claim they cannot resolve the matter because it falls under Victra's responsibility. Victra, on the other hand, has failed to address or fix the situation, leaving us stuck paying for phones we already turned in. We are now pursuing legal action. I am contacting the District Attorney's office and filing a lawsuit to hold both Victra and Verizon accountable for what appears to be either gross negligence or a deliberate scam. There are so much more details that go into this than I can bare to type - I could write a book. Issues after issues with billing discrepancies, the run around with the store management/associates and customer service who NEVER calls back. We are finally ending our 4 month contract and going back to T-Mobile. The best decision ever. Verizon do not know how to take care of customers. Please give up stop doing business and let the professionals take over. Worse customer service ever! Was way better off going the Verizon store in Mission Valley or Santee. Way more qualified people & very helpful compared to this location. Stopped by after work as it was on my way home as I needed help getting my phone set up & was not very helpful. From when I walked in wasn't even acknowledged and when I finally got service it was like I was an inconvenience for them, but definitely is different if your a female they pay close attention to you & skip everyone else to help out a female customers in a creepy way like there trying lame pick up lines. As one store associate was trying help out a female customer the entire time he sounded like a used car salesman in trying to make her upgrade her phone & just seemed like a scam of other things I over heard as all she wanted was a screen protector as he was trying to tell her the screen protector is $70 bucks! Scam!! Once I did get my phone going by barely in help that I needed they didn't even offer a case or screen protector that I also needed but gladly take my business & money elsewhere. Please read!!! This was probably the worst customer experience I've ever head in my entire life. My wife and I went in to participate in Verizon's recent promotion. Trade in your old phone (iPhone 11 in our case) and receive a credit towards a new phone. We went in and talked with a sales rep about the exchange. They said they didn't have any of the new iPhones in stock but would order them and contact us when they arrived. The sales rep rattled off a bunch of numbers and said when everything was done we would pay an additional $40 per month to upgrade the new phones with a payment plan. I asked the rep, if we received $1000 credit as advertised, couldn't we just pay the remaining $110 per phone and call it a day?? She said of course. So we left. A week later our phones arrived and my wife went into the store and payed the balance and picked them up. The store was closing and everything was rushed so she just payed the charge and took them home under the plan of returning tomorrow to finish the setup. She got home and realized the "charge" was $790.... We talked and she said the rep and included a bunch of "free" stuff but hadn't provided an itemized receipt. I went back the next day, turned in our old phones, and got a receipt. Turns out they charged us for $330 in "free" accessories. When I questioned them, they said this was the promotion and what was needed to obtain the full $1000 refund for our phones. I contacted Verizon corporate and confirmed there was no such stipulation in their promotion. I went back and spoke with the sales rep who said it was all explained prior to continuing the deal and that's what we agreed to. I asked if there was a certain amount needed to be spent in order to complete the deal. She just shrugged at me. I told her Verizon corporate had no such stipulations in their deal and asked to see in writing where that stipulation was. She said there was nothing in writing. She told me she had already spoken with their manager and he was willing to give me a $60 credit for the misunderstanding. A credit... not even a refund. $60 for $330. She called her manager and put him on speakerphone. I asked him why I would pay $330 for accessories I didn't want to access a deal that shouldn't have cost me anything. They gave us two cases (we already had picked out and ordered two cases we wanted and liked, two screen protectors which we didn't want, and some charging cords/blocks we didn't need). I could have gone through Verizon.com or Apple.com and handled the deal just fine for free. He told me I should be lucky they did the deal because they follow up on everything and make sure our credit is properly credited for the return. The "manager" said they weren't willing to do anything more. They wouldn't let me get my old phones back because they exchange had already been complete. They told me I could return all of the accessories and return the new phone leaving us stranded without phones. The manager was incredible rude and talked over me. He made 0 effort to resolve the problem and cared more about boosting his stores sales numbers than customer service. I've never been so frustrated before. Bottom line: this location charged $330 to give customers access to a free Verizon deal. Don't ever go here. They will swindle and cheat you. They don't care about you as a customer at all. If you're the manager and you're reading this, I hope the customers that walked out immediately after me, spoke with me at my car about your terrible business, and left without giving you any more business will help you reconsider things in the future. read more

The young attendant ordered my phone and told me it would be there in 4 weeks. 3 weeks later I was in the Verizon website and it told me my phone was delivered a week after I had ordered it. When I went to the store, he tried to convince me that it had been delivered to another store and that was the reason he had not called me to notify me of the early arrYet he found it in their safe. Horrible experience. I had an appointment to pick up 2 phones. I knew exactly what I was getting and for how much. They refused to sell me the phones saying since they have limited inventory I must buy the bundle package (case and screen protector) for each phone at $140 each plus tax. I have never been forced to buy a bundle package when purchasing a phone. I didn't feel like getting screwed so I told them I was upset and left. I walked outside to call Verizon customer service and the sales rep came after me saying he spoke to his manager and they are willing to waive the bundle package requirement. I was having a minor melt down this week thanks to my primary internet access point having an outage and my "back-up" Verizon MIFI wasn't charging with the power cord I had for some reason. I headed down to my local Verizon store and Shay was an absolute lifesaver tracking down a cord that would work (at no cost) and very patiently explaining how to hook it to my Mac Air charger to juice it back to life. Do NOT purchase online selecting pick up in store option. The store couldn't release my order because it wasn't in the "correct" status even though the phone was in stock, already set aside for my order, and payment had been processed. After 12 calls and countless chats, no resolution is forthcoming. The store would direct me to customer support and then supposed would send me back to the store. It is now 3 days later, the money has come out of my account and no phone! A supervisor called me back and said the issue was being escalated and I should hear back in the morning. 15 minutes later I received an email that my order has been cancelled. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location and curbside pickup altogether. This has been a complete waste of my time and money!!! (The 1 star is for the phone being in Update: after countless phone calls all week, they canceled my order and had the nerve to keep $50 for a restocking fee. When I attempted to go in and ask for my money back today, no apology, no resolution, and no sale. Darius only had excuses how they are an authorized retailer and ordering online is corporate and it was nobody's fault that they couldn't get their act together to make an actual sale???!!! Revised 12/22/2022: Removed reference to other business as requested. On January 28, 2018 my wife and I visited the Verizon Victra store located at 2883 Jamacha Road in El Cajon, California 92019. My wife was having problems with the GPS on her cell phone and we wanted to see if someone could help us fix it. I now believe that there was nothing wrong with her phone. We met with an employee who tested the phone and said it could not be repaired. She checked our Verizon account and said we were eligible for a free upgraded cell phone. She said we only had to pay for a set-up fee and sales tax amounting to $74.36. She said the phone was on sale and this $74.36 was a one-time charge which would show up on our next billing statement. I decided to pay the $74.36 up front. We asked her several times if that was the total price for the phone and she said yes. We agreed and I signed a Service Summary. I didn't think we could go wrong with that price although $74.36 is more than what Verizon charged me for my phone. This employee offered to transfer our phone data from our existing phone to the new phone which would take about one hour. We had not had lunch yet, so we left both phones with her. We returned about three hours later, she was not there and an associate handed us a bag with the two phones and we left. Recently I was reviewing our Verizon statements and noticed that the charges seem to be getting higher. Sometimes we have problems with our phones picking up a cell site in Mexico resulting in roaming charges. However, this was not the problem. I contacted Verizon Customer Service by phone on July 19, 2018 and asked about the increase in our bill. Verizon Customer Service instructed me how to download my account documents. I found a Service Summary and an Installment Loan Agreement. I was shocked to find out that we are being charged $27.45 a month for the new phone that cost $659.00. Additionally, we are now being charged $13.00 a month for an insurance policy that we never agreed to and don't need. My signature is on both of these documents but I never saw and signed the Installment Loan Agreement. The signature on the Installment Loan Agreement is way above the signature line and obviously a forgery. When we were in the store, I signed electronically on a computer pad and my signature was apparently transferred to the Installment Loan Agreement and most likely to other documents without our knowledge. My wife and I are both retired and in our sixties. We have been loyal Verizon customers for almost two decades and have never experienced anything like this before. At best this is some sort of a training problem at Victra. I am asking that we be given a full refund for what we have paid for this cell phone. We will return the phone to the Victra store in El Cajon. My wife and I are Christians and we are more than willing to undergo polygraph testing to substantiate our veracity with everything I have said in this letter. Update as of January 24, 2019. As requested, I reposted my comments and removed the name of the primary employee involved. When I finally met with the Victra Regional Manager at the store, he told me the employee was no longer with Victra. I did notice that one of the employees who was helping her was still there. I am happy to report that I was given a full refund. I sent the phone directly to the Verizon Corporate office and I was given a complete refund and credit for all the payments. Interesting enough based on the serial number, the phone was a previous customer return and not even new. I was also given credit for the all the insurance payments. I have been made whole except for the stress and the huge waste of time. One very interesting and troubling thing that I learned is when you sign the tablet, your signature is transferred to whatever layers happen to be on. When I signed the service agreement, I was also signing a contract agreement and a loan installment agreement without knowing it. And to make matters worse, Victra has supposedly gone paperless so you don't get a printout at the store. Victra is suppose to email it, which didn't happen in our case. The Corporate office said they would be talking to Victra and reviewing their procedures. ---- read more

This store is an absolute scam. Every aspect, from the employees to management to Victra, who owns the store. As soon as they activate your new phone they will demand you pay $250 for a screen protector, case and wall charger. If you don't, they won't complete the sale of the phone. After I sat there for 2 hours while they activated 2 new iPhones for me, they tried to charge me $500 for the above mentioned as soon as we were ready to walk out the door. I was told this was required to purchase the phones. When I asked why this wasn't brought initially, the scummy employee had no answer. The reason they don't bring this up before is they know you just wasted your time sitting there and rather than sit there for another two hours, most people will cave in and just pay the fee. Not me, I made them reactivate both of my phones and during that time I made sure all the current customers knew of their scam. I'll be sure to let Verizon know this is how their 3rd party vendor is treating their loyal customers. I should have checked the reviews before walking in.
