    2012...I was hesitant to leave my phone carrier of twenty years, but I knew there had to be a…read morebetter option out there. For crying out loud, it had been twenty years with the same carrier leaving for only one year in 2002 to another carrier and then coming right back. So I went on the hunt. I asked around but nobody I knew would back Cricket. I looked into the Company a bit more and decided to take the plunge. I picked out the latest device and added it to my new account. The service was immediately great. No dead spots, no 'wrong numbers'. I bought the $50 per month plan that gave me a few gigs of high speed data per month and realized that I never even came close to using all of the data allowed - which at the time was quite a bit of usage. I have now traveled throughout the US and Mexico, to the cusps of Canada, and have not yet experienced a dropped zone. I upgraded my plan to the unlimited data as my work changed and I found myself starting to max out the five gigs of high speed provided. With no contract to worry about, I pay each month like any other plan and receive a discount for signing up for the auto-pay feature. A downside to the service is that if you want to tether your wifi you will have to purchase the one-time feature for $10mo. But, is that really a downside? You are able to add and remove features with a click of a finger right from the app. Get this, for every line you add, your bill is reduced...yes, you heard me, reduced. So I actually pay less for having more phones. Now let's get on to the customer service. One of two reasons holding back a fifth star is the hot line customer service. As you expect in our current era, the 800number dials directly to an overseas trouble shooting line that has to ask their supervisors more questions than what they can answer with ease. To beat this, simply head in to one of the store front locations - not the mall kiosks - and be greeted by a friendly face who will trouble shoot your concern with pride. The customer service reps at this location in particular are extremely friendly. Greeting you as you arrive, coming from behind the counter to greet and dismiss you, and working diligently to ensure all concerns are addressed before you leave. When Cricket sends me a survey regarding my desire to recommend them to someone I know - there is no hesitation that I suggest everyone that I know move over to this extremely fairly priced, excellent service area company.
